Tenderstem broccoli, also known as Broccolini, is a hybrid of Chinese kale and broccoli, prized for its long, tender stems and delicate, slightly sweet flavour. It's a versatile vegetable that can be prepared in various ways, including boiling, steaming, roasting, stir-frying, or even grilling. It cooks relatively quickly, with steaming or boiling taking only 3-4 minutes. Tenderstem broccoli is a good source of vitamins A and C, potassium, and fibre.

Tenderstem broccoli offers a more delicate and slightly sweet flavour compared to regular broccoli, with a taste similar to asparagus. Both the stems and florets are tender and edible. It can be used in place of regular broccoli or purple sprouting broccoli in most recipes.

Tenderstem broccoli pairs well with various dishes, including roasted meats, pasta, and stir-fries.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday! Just a quick CI - yesterday was good but turned out very full, and today has started with Matilda trying to play with a wasp! I dont think she's been stung, and the wasp has been evicted.

DH leaves today for a few days with his DBro..I
I have church this morning and Matilda has her six months check up this afternoon. And the roadworks are still a semi permanent feature. . Have a good day, everyone!

I'm sure that Matilda and the wasp are living happier lives apart from each other, Kittykatt. Thanks for starting us off, and have a good day.

Happy church this morning Kitty. I like broccolini.
Hello Doggedly!

I'm up but didn't sleep well and don't feel great. My resting heart rate is really high for me. It was high in the Dr. office yesterday morning and even higher this morning, according to my fitbit. I'm trying to decide what to do about my class. Can I manage to go in for 2 hours? They're taking an exam so it wouldn't be very much activity. Or should I just let someone else proctor it and rest? I don't think I'm going to my work out session - and probably not visiting my mom.

Later:
- decide what to do about class

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- tea -- don't feel like coffee
- email deletions and weather website

I got my class ready and I'm asking for a sub. I feel worse than yesterday - now I'm nauseous, maybe from the antibiotics?

I'm feeling better, thanks L Ann. Better as in improved not 100% healed. I did get the morning dose of antibiotics down without too much fuss. I don't feel nauseous anymore; I'm not sure what was going on first thing this morning. My heart rate is also down to a more normal level for me.

I haven't done much, have been resting.

Next:
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- start a lol

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- tea -- don't feel like coffee - drank only a fraction of it
- email deletions and weather website
- banana and antibiotics
- keep drinking
- payroll: many messages with AC and JF, my sub
- payroll: set up an assignment in gc so students can turn in homework for Tuesday

Good morning
I want a day to do nothing! But if I got it, I would just want more, I'm sure.
helian, elevated heart rate coincides with elevated temp. Good that it's down. Taht was a sudden onset!
Thanks for the start and the vegetable week, kittykatt. Good that wasp and Matilda were separated! I'm sure she would have cried out if stung. Those things hurt!
l.ann, have a good day with your LittleBit, who is getting bigger.
Hi, doggedly, keep up the good work!

I have been to the bank to arrange account so I can pay mother's NH bill. It hasn't come yet, because they changed her category, which saves her $1800 this month. (I requested a review of her record. I can't just change her category without their reviewing the chart)
Stopped at chruch to drop off some plastic recycling that the garbage comingled doesn't take.
paid car insurance
Cheerios and blueberries for breakfast
next up - empty dehumidifiers
10 minute walk for gentle exercise for my feet,
then start to power wash my very dirty driveway!
I have so much inside work to do, I don't even want to start, it's overwhelming. So I'll be outside - that's something that I will be able to see progress.

☀️Good afternoon!
My days are getting away from me.
Kittykatt, thanks for the start and keeping us going. Is trissie away on vacation this week or busy? Your title reminded me I saw some young broccoli at the farm stand a few weeks ago and meant to get it but forgot. Maybe I’ll go by this weekend. I’m not sure if it’s the tender stem broccoli but it looked really good. That pesky wasp!

(((Helia))), did you get a dx? I do hope you feel better. My late vote would be to rest up, listen to your body, let others fill in for a day or two.

LAnn, busy as always. That Thursday menu sounds delicious.

Gma, good for saving money. When we were looking for dh’s mom, the private facilities were way out of our range, $5-8000/month. People can’t afford to get old and need care. “Fortunately” she qualified for Medicaid so it was basically no charge for her other than basics (clothing, any extras she wanted in her room to use or for decor).

Dh went to a meeting today. I was supposed to go with him, it’s in a conference room at a casino, but there was nothing for me to do but gamble for three hours while I waited on him so I decided not to go. He’s going by their new meat facility to get some beef on his way home to stock the freezer. They have a special going on and I haven’t cooked with ground beef in a long time so we will get that, I think it’s 24lbs of 80/20 for $100. I’m not sure what prices run in the grocery store but sounded good to me. We can store it in mom’s freezer.

When he gets home I arranged to meet a lady about a bookshelf I saw on fb marketplace. I don’t like to go alone and he is like a puppy, always ready to go out and about lol.

I guess I need to get a shower and knock out some chores.

Brain dump:
Shower
Pet chores (litter, clean up)
Kitchen chores (dw, sink, counters)
Dust, vacuum
Laundry
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥
