I think that is the problem I'm having with understanding the nursing home thing. How it's paid. Here in our small town there is 1. And it could be a couple of years wait. Depending. We should really have mom on the wait list but this poa thing is troubling. Dad refused to do poa at first because he didn't think he needed to. Now she can't talk and she can't sign . They are telling him there's nothing they can do for him. Guess I will have to investigate more myself cause the strain of everything is making it seem a hurdles if my sister tries. Ugh. Anyway tmi again...

Now I'm exhausted. I tried to get the frozen leaking pan of berries out and it was frozen down. It made raspberry frozen stuff too far spread forcing me to do a full defrost. Done . Reorganized. Decluttered some frozen bananas. Dill that had been there for years. And my favorite fudgesicles that melted into mess. The revels survived.

I shoved it over and mopped under and in the process filled my winter loving dog's outdoor dish with frozen berry ice water 😆. My laundry room is clean again.

The mower can completely ignore slowing down on wet grass doggedly. It's a big rider. Just gets too much grass in the mower part when it's wet.

Dh brought a bunch more soil over and then took the tractor with a chain and hooked onto the stump of the dead apple tree and pulled it out.

Now I should make lunch and then we can mow and do the rest of the project.

Priority list

Basic routines
Finish kitchen
Fix freezer
Deal with berries bagged them

Mow everything
Dh landscaping with tractor
Some decluttering in craft room ???
Ds curtains up???

Today's tada list

Lunch
Switch laundry again and fold what I dumped on the bed
Finish tidying the rest
Go mow

Switch laundry
Sweep everywhere
Take berry pans out maybe ds will organize
Throw out some stuff in door

Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Leave laundry room in case ds 26 brings some
Tidy Master bedroom some

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Breakfast for all

I'm just stopping by very briefly, as I need to get dressed properly to have supper with MrVKM.
I visited mother at the NH, and was going to take her shopping, but she was tired and wanted to lie down, after we had a nice "visit" with the afternoon event which was the local animal rescue group bringing their foster dogs for socialization - and 1 cat! Mom enjoys the animals.
I cam home and finished powerwashing my driveway! The high of the day has dropped about 15 degrees since yesterday, so it's much cooler outside to work.
That's it - I'll stop back either before he comes to get me, if I have the time, or after we have supper.

I don’t think you can get a POA after someone has lost their decision making ability. You can go through the courts and get the power to make decisions, Laura but I suspect it is more complicated. I need to make an appointment to update DD32’s POAs. Currently I am on it and DD38 but I need to add DD40 so at some point DD32 can go visit there without one of us.

1-slice bread and apparently get Little Bit more pizza

Getting back here at the end of the day.

I was hoping to see Bama again. Maybe nursing homes vary by area? It sounds rough where you are. Hmmm... I missed the bush hog -- and now I'm curious too.
Hi Peaches!
Enjoy time with Mr. VKMan, Gma!
Enjoy the freshly baked bread, L Ann. Is DD38's dog staying with you overnight as well?
Did you get to your errands today, Doggedly?
Lauralind, that sounds really tough with your mom and dad. Did Casper like the berry ice water?

I never made that salad, but I feel like I'd still like to eat it. I'll look for the recipe

Well, this day took an interesting turn. After my shower, I noticed a spot on my leg, 2 perfect circles -- a bulls eye. I still wasn't sure - maybe it was a spider bite? When I went to CG1 and showed it to AK, who is an MD (endocrinology), he said, "That is blah blah blah (scientific name), and you should go to urgent care. You need to get treated." I asked if I should go now, and he said yes. He did say going tomorrow would be OK too -- but the sooner the better. I ate dinner and then went. The Dr. at urgent care asked if I'd been outside much. When I said I'd been hiking in Maine, that info + the bulls eye was all he needed and he prescribed a new antibiotic. He didn't want a blood test confirmation. Apparently, there's a lot of Lyme disease on the east coast, and the bulls eye is textbook. He even said my bulls eye could be in a textbook! I felt so proud. AK did say it was a beautiful bulls eye too. SO, I will pick up a new antibiotic tomorrow, doxycycline, and I will take it for 10 days because . . . I have early Lyme disease. :?

Next:
- update health apps
- more duolingo (I want a perfect lesson)
- get ready for bed

Tadas!
- up; weighed self -- trending up now (restaurant food?)
- coffee
- dw 1/2 emptied
- take antibiotic
- back exercises
- dress to jog
- reclaim kitchen
- jog - just 2 miles; I was tired
- lunch
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- make bed
- clear cedar chest
- lights folded and p/a
- duolingo
- some qt
- payroll: copied over AIR exam; did a little tweaking
- CG1
- urgent care
- lots of communication re: Lyme disease - AC, friend and payroll supervisor, Dh, family chat
- took antibiotic (old one - new one hasn't been obtained yet) + yogurt and fruit

Oh my goodness helian. I wonder if that was your other infection too? I don't know much about Lyme disease. I'm glad you went in.

Phew. I'm tired. The lawn is almost ready for seed. Most of it was machine work by dh but I did some raking and picked up some sticks and roots and rock. Gotta get dad's big landscape rake and some seed.

Between that and a clean freezer that is enough for the day. Casper is begging for his walk and dh is off to music practice with the other team. Walk. Clean up supper that was leftovers from yesterday. And see if Casper will let me groom him some more. Good day in all.

Yes, helian, Lyme disease can start with a fever, chills, headache. The bullseye rash is textbook! Glad you got startedon the right med - it can spare you lots of complications later on.

Laura, I believe that L.Ann is correct - you can get POA, but it will take some legal work. I don't htink there will be much trouble, unless your father wants it instead of the children. You can name a primary and additional others, that can be stated all must be in agreement, or each can act individually.

I am writing out checks each month for >$10,000 for mother's care. Her funds did so well last year that she still had the balance from the beginning of the year - at the end of the year. But not so this year. It's going down fast. Will not discuss politics. Yes, different states have different policies and different standards of care too. It sounds like helian's mother is getting good care, and mine is too. (My mother is experiencing some definite cognitive decline.)

Good supper with MrVKM. We had fun conversation. His boss told him that one of the co-workers (D) was homeless, and living in the boss's camper. But Boss and wife needed the camper for their vacation.... So homeless man is now going to live in a bedroom at MrVKM house until D can save up enough to make entry payment on an apartment. (I told MrVKM to charge "rent" and keep it aside until there is enough for an apartment, so that D doesn't think he can freeload forever. I got an ad in the mail today for the season of live productions at nearby University theater. Showed it to him. He found a couple shows he would like. :D So I will order tickets as soon as the box office opens (when classes start) in Sept.

And I am full from eating a good meal, and think I need to go for a walk. I was on my feet power washing, but not the same as walking.
Then I will start thinkiong about the presentation I will be making in a week-and-a half
