I got my last list of stuff done. The brisket went together quickly because dh helped by cutting some of the root veggies that braise with it. It starts at 350 degrees for 30 min and gets turned down to 300 degrees for the remainder of the cooking time.
Now dh has a friend coming by, but I'm heading back upstairs. Dh will be out for the evening - the fantasy football draft for the neighborhood is tonight.
Anti procrastination day was effective last week, this time I think I'm going to clean up my stamping desk and just load up the bookcase.
This was from earlier, I've been upstairs awhile, also walked the ddog.

Ddolder and dgsonC came by and had a slice of pie, picked up the things I had ready for their family.
I'm almost finished watering all the indoor plants.
LadyM's dd's float project sounds creative and fun - hope it turns out great. Photo op!
Twins', I am wondering if "the dog days of summer" are ahead of us, with a temp rise again.
Cathy, lol, all that effort and she never was able to lift off? One of those moments we smile and remember and then are grateful not to be the ones having to scold or search!

Well. I don't know about that, Harriet. I am now battling myself with the urge to buy yet another checklist.lucylee, don't beat yourself up about your quest for organization knowledge. It's a wholesome thing to want to learn.
I KNOW I am only attracted to the neat sections with colored boxes and everything organized so neatly... but all the beautiful checklists in the world will not make me go to bed earlier and get up earlier and actually DO the THINGS. I CANNOT MAKE MYSELF DO THE THINGS. Sigh. I am absolutely what the late Peg Bracken called "The Spot-ful Housekeeper," who only does things when the urge hits.
If any of you are interested in my latest fascination, Google "Anchored Women blog monthly checklist." It puts the whole month out there on ONE sheet of paper, and include self-care and space for hobbies, etc. And for $24 a month (or $240/year) one can get a new checklist every month with new projects and activities as the seasons change. There are also other goodies that come with this $24 subscription, but nothing really interests me except this beautiful checklist.
It is hard for me to convert my previously self-made checklist to this format... but I just realized, I could do it with graph paper, and lettering is kinda my thing, anyway, so maybe I should try that. I must remind myself there is nothing magical about this piece of paper. I will still be the same low energy (lazy?) person.
I read something that said this lack of energy is common in grief, but I don't know how long that can last. (For my dmom, it definitely lasted a year, and really she was not herself for three years, until we got her off Ativan.
* She is doing so well right now -- walking (with her walker) 10 laps up and down her driveway. If the weather is bad, she goes to Wmart and walks the store. She's been telling me that she is making a LOT of progress decluttering and organizing her kitchen and office. She obviously is feeling stronger.
Remember, it was only a couple months ago that she was sure she had cancer and was looking into assisted living costs!
Anyway, I got the crock pot I ordered today, and I'm already questioning that purchase, too, so I am NOT going to order anything else.
I also did not really get up early, Nancy, but I did make it to have lunch with Dfriend, and * surprise * she insisted on buying my lunch for my birthday!
While we were there, a couple we know from the church we grew up in came into the restaurant and we sat with them for a while and talked.
After lunch, I came home, started a load of laundry, and then went to pick up dgd at school. DS and a friend had been playing music for the nursing home where ddil works, and he wasn't going to be back in time for dgd. He picked up DGS at football and then came and took DGD home also.
I have not folded the laundry (towels and underwear).
I DID balance my checkbook, and -- although I'm still not happy with my balance -- the bank still has me $400+ above what I say I have. This is 7 months, and the last few have been exactly the same. For all seven months, it has been within $25 higher or lower, always over $400. I'm just going to let it ride. If it is still there when I get ready to buy a new vehicle, I'll give it back to myself.
I also took a nap.
Wednesday night church doesn't start for adult Bible study until next week.
Tomorrow, (well, later today) DS and I are going out to eat lunch with dmom, a "mini" birthday party for me. I don't know when we'll do our regular party like we always do with dbil and dsisil. Since football started, DGS has games either Monday or Tuesday, church Wednesday, and for the next few weeks, DS will be busy Thursday-Sunday. I don't "have to" have a party, but ds and ddil expect us to do something.
I wish so much that Harmony could communicate with us! Tomorrow (today) is her birthday too, you know.
Hope you all have a great day Thursday!
Tomorrow is another day.
