Fry bread topped with beans, ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions is a popular choice, with some adding sour cream or salsa. The fair also offers a regular menu, but each day highlights a featured meal. Thursday night featured freshly caught battered and fried fish, while Friday night showcased calf fries. Most of the food is locally produced, donated, and prepared by volunteers. No matter which meal you choose, the cost, including a drink, is $10, and all proceeds go toward funding the Senior class graduation trip.

My day feels out of sync with the usual routine since I slept three hours later than normal. I didn’t finish my coffee until after 11 a.m., and I ended up cooking breakfast at 1 p.m. It feels a bit weird, but I’m just going with the flow.

I have pulled several items from the freezer to thaw for tomorrow. I'm not cooking today.

LadyM, my goodness, auction prices when supporting the school library were remarkable. I hope the school library can be well blessed by the contributions.

Wow, blessed, your dmother was able to go out to Barnes and Noble and enjoy book shopping. That is great that she feels that well, plus could have that much input and interest.

New microwave does NOT have the very common convenience feature of ending rotation at the same angle as it began, so we will have to go back to putting up with mug handles, etc., being turned awkwardly away from us when reaching for hot items. Also, it DOES have the questionable "feature" of requiring a double release of the door afterward - you must both push a button AND then pull the door handle. HRH says he's not gonna like that. Otherwise, nothing wrong with it, just new usage to us.

Printers - blessed, you are one up on me, because we still can't figure out how to have a printer added to the small space I have for a desk area. So, when I really need to have something printed, I must email it across the house and print from HRH's computer. Still basically either 1) asking him to do it, since I don't feel I should be invading his computer much and don't understand some of it, OR 2) deciding I just won't bother printing much anyway!

Printing - I'll go back in and edit my previous post, because now that I try, I can't find any way to print the forms on the holiday sites without downloading first. Ah, well, everything can't stay as convenient as it once was - witness my new microwave, lol.

I took a nice nap, once TN was ahead. Watching fourth Q now but need to slice the cake and get ready to go in a couple of hours. DH frustrated that FL State game doesn't kick off until current game is done.

It’s a football US open tennis day for me. And in between I’ve done laundry and have helped sweetie with his computer a half a dozen times.

LadyM… i’ve had several autistic students/now friends that have led social lives. One of my girls who came me in seventh grade and is now 34 has remains friends with me along with her mother. She’s led an interesting life and is now engaged and is getting ready to get married next year.

Twins…UT is still ahead and Bama can be seen on the ESPN app. I’m gonna switch over in a minute.

I have been out and trimmed some shrubbery while Dgd watered trees, and herself. She had a ball. I still have to go back and gather up the branches I got, but I didn’t really make a huge difference — shrubs are already getting away from me. Maybe next year i will hire someone to do a “hard prune” again.

I am very tired now, and I am watching ball with Twins and Rose.
I love Florida State. Burt Reynold’s alma mater… Bobby Bowden… Gus Malzahn.

Have swept and mopped the hallway. Need to put the wood-floor pads for mopping onto a list. Still have a few, but these last few have dried out. Hmmm... ..

Delighted to have gotten the counter under the microwave completely clean. I knew it was bugging me, and when we moved the old one, things were worse than I thought. Slowly, perhaps, getting back to normal rotation around here.

trissie reminds that both The Holiday Grand Plan and the Houseworks plan start in the coming week, as List or Planning weeks. Is it weird that I think I should plan some today, if I thought I was going to be ready for planning tomorrow? (Planning for the planning?) Yes. Yes, that's probably weird. No reason to think about it until tomorrow, right? Now I have to think about not thinking about it. lucylee, stop smiling.

Dh wanted to go outside and water the veggies after we watched some of the news. Blackberries are coming nicely. There are raspberries and strawberries again now that the heat isn't bad. Grapes are getting bigger and we got 2 bunches to nibble on while we sat out at the patio table for a while.

I am definitely smiling. LOL, with all this planner/checklist envy I’ve been experiencing, I’ve been planning for planning for months!

Got all the shrubbery clippings in the garbage, went to the pool room and played with Dgd, killed (drowned?) two spiders with wasp spray, and gave a lecture about putting garbage in the garbage when one is finished eating.
Oh, and washed a load of clothes. (Have not folded or put away yet.)
Dgd had a bath during the Bama/FSU game, and I hope she didn’t get too sweaty in the pool room. (It is the upstairs of a two car garage, and there is a window unit ac up there, but since there is no door closing off the upstairs, the ac is pretty useless.
We ate supper during halftime of the ballgame and I’m going to take a shower before I go to bed. I may have to teach children’s Sunday School tomorrow, but dgs and Dgd will likely be the only children.
