Sunday of Labor/Labour Day weekend PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

It's Sunday of the long weekend! Tomorrow is Labor/Labour Day, the start of fall, although the calendar and the temps don't see fall yet. Are you doing fall decorating? Planning for holidays already (lots of checklists and suggestions for prep, and you don't have to do all of them, of course.)

We're on the cusp of the new season!

Thank you for starting us off in our section of the village today Twins' Mom! Three more weeks of summer, even though a weather forecaster here said it's "Pumpkin Spice Season" yesterday... ~sigh~ I tried pumpkin spice something many years ago and it didn't excite me. I think it might have been a donut.

Dh let all the cats out before I woke up. They have all been back in for their treat, and then they all went back out. Now one is back in for the day. She is the only one that isn't allowed out later in the afternoon because she refuses to come back in and will run away if we attempt to grab her or chase her down.

There is football later today. I don't know how many teams are playing or even which ones they are. Toronto Argonauts play tomorrow in their "Labour Day Classic" against Hamilton Tiger Cats. The sportscasters on our local station (a Hamilton station) are all saying that Hamilton will beat the Argos. That gets dh mad, so he yells at the TV...

Dh wants to get out for a drive today. I will be happy when we get home. Dh has recently started driving slower than the speed limit on local roads. He still goes well over the limit on the highways. He also has the tendency to drive down the middle of the road on the back roads and that drives me crazy. Oh, well... he really wants to get out and go for a long drive.

And, today is our 39th anniversary! We're having my cousins over today - next Saturday is my cousins J's birthday, she is 11 years older than I am, don't recall if she's 80 or 81 this year. She's in kidney failure - has been able to hold off dialysis for a couple of years now.

I need to go to grocery and to Lowes, but need to walk the dog first...

Cathy, I'm not a fan of pumpkin spice either, especially in coffee.

Happy Anniversary to Twins' Mom and Twins' Dad!

Hi, all!

lucylee, yesterday Nancy's first post included that she was halfway through watching the new net flicks movie, the Thursday M Club (Nancy is a very ladylike person and doesn't necessarily spell out violent words!). So I'd added that HRH had started it and liked the beginning enough that he was waiting on me to watch the whole thing. By evening, I was down to even more abbreviation - sorry.

Feeling just that hint of holiday interest with new talk of planning in the different threads. I've had to be so "good" and "obedient" for too many holiday seasons and part of me wants to make a big flourish this year. Another part reining me in, lol.

Time for fruit breakfast, then probably a brunch I'll actually cook.
Kitchen, although I can't BELIEVE it, requires more attention just to get clean.
Choosing between online worship events this morning, later.

Waving to everyone!
Chiming in on the not being a fan of Pumpkin spice it actually upsets my tummy.
I am not decorating for fall yet but I did sort out the items to keep and some to declutter.
I just have a few two fake pumpkins a ribbon for the front steps.
Some sunflowers silk for inside stay up all summer in side they blow over outside I learned.

Up at six after power was out not sure how long the clock beeped and woke me up.
I was going to try to sleep in. . .
Saw the heat advisory so walked first thing today after a brief bujo entry.
Did the rest of the journals later.

Deviled eggs for bfast later.
I have a meal plan.

Watched the rest of that movie & did some knitting.
Started a new series I will not recommend doubt I"ll watch any more of that one.
Did not do any reading yesterday so that is omm.

I was up at eight. Just now got back from Lowes and grocery store. At Lowes, there was a return, a pick up of ordered items, bought light bulbs and a new cover for the "clean out" valve for the sewer, and exchanged a propane tank. I'm feeling very industrious except that I've done very little otherwise.

I need to get to work. Partial list going, but I think I just need to get moving at :15 past the hour. Giving myself a little regrouping time meanwhile. Working to TOTH. Anyone want to go along?

mom is out the door - we started out late - dd's took mom to barnes and nobles and it picked up her spirit even if cranky - considering we all thought she was going to die last Tuesday and the drs. keep giving us the sad eyes - she is getting strong again until the next time. brain has been very good except when she wakes or is laying there looking at the ceiling but not out there.

dd's took mom, just now, for a walk in the park today
it is getting warm but not like the west
I made out cards for the holiday grand plan for month one
wrote plans for this week.
rather Happy I did.
I do have christmas cards but have decided not to send all the cards we used to.

made a card - dh's birthday is coming up and I will make a cake - I think. or buy one.

today: meal plan
laundry is almost done
