In Australia, there was a spin-off of the same name with him as the main character and the theme song was "I'm Humphries and I'm Free".

CCI - The small bathroom is finished, although I can see a few spots a Mr. Clean eraser would help when I get a chance. Swept up the mud room, too.

something that I am proud of - when I first moved here there were hardly any honey or bumble bees - now our yard is not filled with them. Calamintha nepeta subsp. nepeta is a huge draw for the honey bees.

I need to order a couch cover before the dogs ruin my new leather couch.
this week - make appointment for dogs nails.
go to shade place - I need shades for the front windows.

Happy Anniversary to Twins’ Mom and Twins’ Dad!

We did the livestream for church yesterday, so we did not need to go this morning. So we got the dishes done — I was worried when DH made pancakes for fear we’d never see the top of Mt. Dishmore. I might finally get the currant syrup made today — I have sugar, a clean work surface, and time!

First, I need to get the wash I put in last night into the dryer before it mildews. It’s cool here, so it should be okay. The weather turned cool on Monday, when the kids started back at school, as if to say, “Summer’s over.” The first half of this week is supposed to be a little more seasonable.

We may play games with dfriends P&K tomorrow, but we don’t have any firm plans yet.

blessed, do you have a birthday coming up that you needed to renew your registration? (Around here, it’s due on your birthday.) I would like to get that done myself. The emissions testing place has a self-serve kiosk. It tacks on a $5 fee plus a percentage of the cost, but I think it might be worth it for the convenience.

We are FINALLY home. Nothing like a drive that took over 4 hours. We took the scenic route from Niagara on the Lake to the bridge that goes to Buffalo. That meant driving past Niagara Falls and ALL THE TOURISTS being tourists and just walking across the road wherever they felt like. We stopped at a Fry Truck and got a medium sized container of french fries to share. We also stopped in NOTL to get blackberry jam, raspberry jam, rhubarb spread, pickled beets and "chili sauce" which I used to love with scrambled eggs. There is a very old store there that sells all kinds of jams and jellies. They are (almost) better than home made. As if that wasn't enough, we also bought 2 tubs of ice cream to go along with the sundae I had. The sundae was made with peach ice cream (from local peaches) on top of some chopped up local peaches with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I limit myself to one peach sundae per year because they are good, but they are also expensive. Darn good, though!

It's possible that dh is already asleep on the couch/sofa.

Harriet the jam store has your choice of raspberry jam or raspberry jelly, so you can still have the wonderful flavour without the seeds. I wanted the jam this time. I have had raspberry jelly in the past from that store and it is wonderful.

lol, bw2, I didn't say I was finished! I've now straightened up the MBR and bath, deadheaded outside some, picked zinnias and tomatoes, and cut hydrangeas for a bouquet. And still working...checked on our supply of plastic cluttery, and we have just enough I think. We'll need more for Rosh Hashanah.

And discussed drinks with dh, and checked with boy cousin (son of J) and both his kids are coming. Ds is coming as well. I'm pretty sure his sister's dds aren't here visiting - both live out of town.

I throw a few blackberries in with my morning berries when I have them, have to check teeth for seeds!

unusual - dd s just got home w mom. what a difference - time in the woods really made her sharp. dd's pushed her everywhere and were gone for hours. They even got her ice cream. She is now happily laying in her bed - she said it feels so good to rest her body and that she had such a good time. She came home with a flower in her hair that they found along the way. extremely happy.

I have done a lot -
dh started cleaning out the hutch in the dining room so that I could use it again - I took all of mom's books/puzzles and books and put them in the drawer. (needing to clean up mom's room).
put laundry on the stairs for "others" to bring upstairs - if they notice it.

Twins = Happy Anniversary!

My day began at 6 a.m., and I've been steadily busy ever since—the good kind of busy, not the stressful kind.

This afternoon, we took DD14 for her Sunday soak and hair washing at DD49's home. While that was happening, DH and I strolled through the aisles at HDepot and Atwoods. My main goal was to find two sets of exterior doors, a dishwasher, and composted cottonseed hulls. We browsed plenty but didn’t find anything we wanted to buy.

DH is currently at an elder prayer meeting, and it’s a good mental day for him.
