Thriving Thursday PWYC
We don't often think much about thriving - we just do, or don't. This is an interesting article, "Ways to Thrive in Midlife." https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog ... n-mid-life
The author cites playfulness, presence, creativity, connection and joy as qualities we can cultivate to create the conditions under which we can thrive.
What little things can you add in today to cultivate those five things?

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
thank you d twins!!! I like that!
Hope you and everyone here has a wonderful day!
I have been taking naps in the afternoon - which is awful for me. I need to leave the house after lunch and eat a lighter lunch.
I also will get a blood test.
Christmas has been on my mind as well as finishing fall jobs.
mom was up a lot last night - probably bc she slept so well in the afternoon.
she kept calling to see if I or anyone was there.
Thursday is clean out the fridge day!
what else is needed: water out front
water pots
dead head things
have a great day

Hi!
I don't know if I'm thriving or not.
It's pouring rain here. Thankfully it didn't start before I got the compost and recycling out.
I have some errands to run, but I don't really want to go out in this. At least it's good for the grass.
Dh bought a steak the other day, so we are having that for supper.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Interesting start to my morning. Sweetie was in a panic because he couldn’t find his shoes. He searched the house under bed under furniture out in the lanai in the garage and his office all the places he thought they could be. I even looked in our laundry basket.
After spending an hour or so, looking everywhere, I suggested he go back in the closet and look at his shoes. I noticed sometimes he has a hard time seeing things are in front of him. That was the case with his shoes. I noticed that a pair of his shoes were on his shelf where he keeps them, but they weren’t put in correctly. He usually puts them in left and right like you take them off, but these were reverse.
I had him take him out and he looked at him and he goes. Oh, these are my shoes so that was good.
The community is having new Internet cable installed so they’re tearing up the streets and yards and all sorts of places. Today they are in my front yard and on my side yard with a big machine going thump, thump, thump.
They’ve already dug out part of my yard and somehow we’re gonna go under my driveway and out to the side of my yard. We’ll see how this goes.
Otherwise it’s Thursday so you know what that means my laundry is already going. And I still have the fellow coming for dinner.
Waving to y’all …

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Good morning
My day started off well until we found out the Odyssey had a flat tire. DH drove the 89 to drop DD14 at school while DS17 and I removed the tire. The two fellas took the tire to the next town for repair (it had a screw in it) and then put it back on. Changing a flat tire isn't fun, but I'm grateful it happened in our driveway rather than on the side of the interstate.
Now that the mini emergency has been handled, I am ready to get back to my normal daily doings.

Waving! I am up doing some better.
Today is going to be another hot one 66*/ 97* F. today's temp. range.
Still on no cook week too hot.
Taking some insp. from another thread. 3 ring binder & others that close with a snap sound.
I could not find the Happy Planner I wanted [yet] but did find a new to me Franklyn Covey style one
that snaps closed with rings and a different one I have on her for other topics and ideas, notes from reading
ideas and plans are going in them so much fun! I did a reset and the last 3 month of the year are in the one.
Today I stripped the sheets off the bed got em in the wash before our walk as it was not quite lite enough yet.
So glad for progress today. After our walk got them in the dryer. Clean sheets diff. set are on the bed now.
So glad I only have the one bed to do these days.
Journals mostly done.
bfast happened.
Music time now.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Home from body work - I'm in good shape these days. No major aches and now I'm feeling aligned. Back, hips, feet, all are pretty good.
I went to pick up finally the CPAP stuff. As I said, I'll be changing companies the next time I need it. Think it's been over two weeks since I first called to get the stuff.
I need to leave for workout in less than 1.5 hours. I'm trying to regroup and finish a.m. routine - I still have a couple of the pans that had brisket in them. DH did all the slicing and freezing and left cleanup for me - which was okay, but then there was supper last night too. Dh accidently left the freezer cracked open night before last and I threw some things out when we found it yesterday a.m. There was swordfish that was partly thawed that I set aside for our supper last night.
I have the Roomba running.
First up is to finish kitchen clean up. I hope the Roomba will leave me alone long enough to do it.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Homeschooling is done for the day. *Big sigh of relief* to have that part of the day behind me.
DH and I took our 30-minute walk later than usual. We decided earlier in the day was better because of the hotter temps. Although, they do say sweating is a good way for the skin to detox—so there’s that.
I have discovered my new favorite food. Artisan Margherita Pizza freshly made at Sam's and cooked at home in the air fryer. OH MY. The pizza texture and taste were outstanding, but maybe better than anything is my body didn't react negatively to higher carb.
We finally dried out enough to burn the stack of dried plants and weeds I've been accumulating. Normally, I burn them in the fire pit about once a week. This morning, I filled the fire pit three times to burn them all. Tomorrow, I'll spread the ashes in the garden and then start the collect, burn, and spread cycle all over again.
Yesterday, I finished painting the outdoor furniture in front of the house, which included six chairs and two tables that I had been working on for a while. I painted one side at a time, letting it dry overnight before flipping it to paint another side, repeating this process until every surface was covered. Now, I'll shift my focus to painting the outdoor furniture in the back of the house. There are also six chairs and two tables back there, so it will be more of the same slow but steady process to get everything freshly painted.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I actually went out in the pouring rain and accomplished things. Renewal of health card and driver's license. Neither has to be redone for another 5 years unless I move or change my name in any way. I also found butter on sale, so I bought enough for a month. We go through 1 pound per week.
I think I'll go join dh on the bed to read. We might both end up napping and that's okay.

I’ve been a busy girl…
Vacuumed the couch, love seat and all their cushions. Also did the two barrel chairs as well. Then I used my Dyson to vacuum the main part of my house and my master bed room.
Did all my morning routines and picked up my foot prints. Laundry is going and I now have one load to fold and put away. I dusted the other day and did my daily bathroom cleaning so the house is I good shape
I have Perry Mason on for company. That helps with the outside noise.
LadyM… glad you weren’t on the road when you got your flat.
Nancy… send that cool weather this way… I am so ready for it.
