Still proctoring my exam at work.
trissie, the immediate plan is to have dbro + dniece sleep in dd27's room this weekend. Her room is across the hall from ours. The other 2 bedrooms are downstairs in our walk out basement. We do not trust dbro b/c of some info which I won't share here. We will not have him sleep downstairs in the usual guest room bc he'd be sleeping across the hall from M, a young single woman, and sharing a bathroom with her - and far away from other people (us). Also, M is renting the space in our house. She's very chill with sharing her bathroom with houseguests, but we're not going to do that this time. --Glad you got home safely!
I think I'd find that show interesting, Bama! Thanks for sharing!
You're very generous with your Costco. membership, Doggedly. Random memory, S used to go there to buy socks for dh and me bc they had nice ones! I don't know if she still has her membership or not.
WTG with all the progress on your house, Lauralind. That sounds like a good plan for your day. Glad you're going to ask for unloading help.
Walgreens just called and my script is ready! Yay!

Re: Three Ring Binder @ TDD - C&C
Hi, Bama. The chicken is delicious, and priced much better than at grocery stores. I was disappointed in the price of pantry staples, which is where I was planning to use my new member discount, but I finally found where the bargains are: in cookies. So instead of stocking up the panty, I am looking forward to a LOT of high end shortbread cookies and Leclerc chocolate coated cookies. And some other stuff, LOL.
That sounds like a nice start to the day. I should get up from this chair and start on mine too.
helia, you have been very considerate in balancing the needs/comfort of your guests, family and tenants.
I think that you have hit the nail on the head with Costco. You have to find the particular bargains, and they can be very good.
Thursday
Benedryl and treats for Germane
Put away dry dishes
Put on a pot of coffee
Wiped down/put away rice cooker and slow cooker
CUOP
Tried to place the Costco order. Found that they added a $15 surcharge in the payment screen, despite it showing on the screen that it was waived right up until that point. Backed out.
Spent time searching the Costco website and trying different combinations until I had an order that satisfied my discount requirements and avoided the grocery surcharge. Completed the order.

Dogged, workers with walkie talkies are the short-term solution for road works too, but long term would be traffic lights. I mean, you really can't have a man with walkie talkie out there 24/7 for 3 years!
It works... most of the time. This is, I think, the first time it backfired - usually, if there's an issue, it's because it shortens the greens and long lines form.
helia, was (D)B visiting planned, or is it because of your mom's worsening condition?
Bama, I can't really imagine carrying around a three ring binder - I use them for filing both at home and at work, but that's it.
TaDas
- morning routine
- 15 min on laundry
- 15 in living room
- load of lights running
- dinner
ToDos
- water flowerpots
- midday routine
- oversee that all kids are ready for tomorrow
----
- afternoon routine
- DBD's speech therapy
- 15 on laundry

Home, dressed to exercise, and eating a little something before I head out the door again.
trissie, dbro was going to come the last week in September, but I suggested he come earlier. This is the only other open week in September, and honestly, I don't know how long my mom will last.
WTG getting around the Costco surcharge Doggedly! Benadryl for Germane - does she have allergies?
Heading otd to gym in about 3 minutes.

Well, not the same man, trissie!
Didn't you carry a 3-ring binder when you were in school? We used to have sections for our different classes when we reached the age where we walked from one classroom to another, so that we could carry one binder rather than carrying all of the notebooks for all of the classes.
Yes, helia. Germane has had a lifelong battle with allergies, and never gets completely well but improves with medication. At the moment she is on Benedryl in the morning and Apoquel at night.

Did something in the kitchen but can’t remember what
Spiffed self
Lost phone. I was using it earlier today, and I haven’t left the apartment.
Asked Alexa to find the phone.
It didn’t ring.
Found phone. It is turned on, volume is at normal setting, it shows that it bounced a call.
Dug in settings and turned the ring tone back on
Put together a bowl of rice and vegetables, with bonus chicken
Went through Giant Tiger flyer, as I am going to have to do grocery shopping for what I actually need
Sorted dirty laundry
Cleaned up after dog
Refilled planter’s water bottle
Benedryl and treats for Germane
Put away dry dishes
Put on a pot of coffee
Wiped down/put away rice cooker and slow cooker

I love popping in and not knowing what I’m going to find.
All I’ve done is feed inside pets and me plus place a grocery order to pu in a little while. Sense a theme?
Let’s get this show on the road already.
Scoop litter
Vacuum
Laundry

Hello, everyone!
Sorry about the frustrations of the roadworks, Trissie, and glad you got home safely.
I'm glad your foot isn't painful, L.Ann.
Laura, I guess our city is medium sized. It used to be small and beautifully compact, but there's been a lot of "urban sprawl", especially in recent years, and, unfortunately, road and service provision really hasn't kept pace.
Bama, I think those big warehouse style stores are probably a very good idea if you have a big family to feed and / or have plenty of space to store everything. We have neither!
Dogged, WTG battling with the Costco website and winning!
Hi, Peaches!
It's been a good day. The interim vicar led a very thoughtful service, and it was good to catch up with people over coffee afterwards. At weight loss clinic, Jude has stayed at the same weight - I'm thankful she hasn't gained anything. When I finally got home, I sent an email to HT, MD, BA and D about the latest progress with parish Christmas lunch a.d then had some time in my garden, dodging the showers. Waitrose have delivered and the groceries PA.
The only concern is that with the rain and dampness, Freddie's arthritis seems to have got much worse. He's struggling to get up after lying down, his back legs are much weaker, and he's lost a lot of mass from his rear end, so looks quite scrawny there. But his tail is still upright, he still asks to go for his walk, he doesn't appear to be unhappy, he's still very interested in food, and he can still jump in the bed when he wants to.
Of course, arthritis is progressive, and I think the Solensia ( together with his gabapentin) has done a good job of relieving the pain, but it can't stop the progression. He has a vet appointment a week on Tuesday, and next week is supposed to be warmer and drier, so we'll see if he improves then.
Everyone had biscuit when I brought Jude back home, so now no one wants their supper...

Whew I did those 3 and am ready for quitting time. I have no oomph these days. Prolly connected to my diet which is lacking.
Kittykatt, have you seen the heated pet beds? They’re non electric and somehow generate their own heat, perhaps reflecting the pets heat? Wondering if that might bring some comfort to Freddie.
The warehouse stores come in handy with larger families, sports complexes with a snack bar and small stores here. We can’t eat that much food so don’t really go much. I should make a point to go though for items like paper plates, tin foil, cat and dog items, but I don’t. Rambling…
Doggedly, Alexa said she’s helping in the least helpful way possible.
Still laughing at “same man”…
