Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Hey, everybody! (Twins, blessed, Cathy, Rose, LadyM, and Nancy -- we've got quite the crew today!)
Have hit a wall, motivationally speaking, so I decided to have some lunch and visit with you. So far today:
• Dropped DC at school
• Stopped for a free breakfast (I had rewards from the regional gas station/convenience store/restaurant for a free breakfast sandwich and a free specialty drink, so yay, me!)
• Swung by the grocery store pharmacy to pick up my ADHD meds
• Came home and started working on the grocery list
• Picked DC up
• Came home and worked on the grocery list some more while waiting for DC to have a bite to eat
• Worked on the playroom with the kids. Today was a dress-up box: Some of the things went to the costume box, less to the garbage. There were a couple of beat-up Disney tiaras that DC is going to take apart for the beads.
• Worked a little more on the grocery list, and that brings me to now. (Wow, when I put it like that, I look so productive!)
Currently having some leftover corn chowder. There was more in the container than I really wanted, but not enough for two full bowls, so I'm having a larger bowl than I'd like. It's really good, though. The hot chocolate from my breakfast was getting cloying (I'd gotten down to the bottom, where all the syrup was gathered), so I tried making a drink from the black currant not-quite-syrup that I made and some club soda -- similar to Ribena, which Kittykatt will likely know. Since the syrup is more like a gel, maybe a little thicker, I had mixed success. It was tasty, but there was still a decent bit of goo at the bottom when I was done. Tried pouring ginger ale in with the goo; there was enough there to color it, but it tastes pretty much like ginger ale. Anyway, I am full now.
Rain was predicted for tomorrow, but we got a downpour today, and now there's no rain in the forecast. It threw a monkey wrench in DC's plan to mow the lawn this afternoon before tomorrow's supposed rain. If only I could send Nancy and Rose some of our cool. We're in the 60s here -- it's supposed to get up into the high 70's tomorrow, but with winds over 20 mph. Then back to the 60s again, and cooler at night. DD is ready to go to work, so I will take her and then come back and get back to the grocery list. Thanks for this break!

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Home from workout and managed to drop off the two HOA checks and the baby card in the neighborhood, and pick up meds at CVS, but forgot grocery store. There was also ground turkey that got kicked out of the freezer when we froze all the brisket, so I'm making chili tonight. (Note that temp right now is 87 degrees.) Dh has gone for a massage himself, and may come back through or may go on to bowling.
So I need to run out to the store for tomato soup, which I put in my chili. (bw2, I dislike going to stores also.) DMillie needs her walk too.
When I get back I need to regroup. I've been jotting down OMM things all day and never took the time to sit down and organize and assess them. That, and walk the dog and make the chili.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
And I'm back. Grocery store and dog walked. I got my planner "bookmark" from upstairs, I'm lost without being able to find my place. Also brought down more OMM lists from upstairs.
I was feeling really great about tomorrow until I looked at the calendar and realized I have a hair appointment at 11:30.
Need to get out the solvent that will unstick my tuchas and get me moving...
Update: consolidated lists into one sheet: "Before trip," "After trip but before Rosh Hashanah," and "After Rosh Hashanah." I'm starting on chili now.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I have not had good luck finding my notes to I just googled it like I did before and used my phone for info.
Got several pages now to add to my Sept. comp. note book project.
Movie time as a reward.
Chopped up zucchini for my veg. to have later with dinner.
Adds fiber.
Read a ch. in two books.
I need to finish my steps note taking p/c research, movie time & writing does not add steps to my day.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I turned Oldies music called "feel good" on while doing all the kitchen work today. Danced a while afterward, which was good for me. Beach Boys, Aretha.
Making an order of cleaning supplies I couldn't find otherwise. Taking notice of some who complain there are those that open in transit, spoiling other items. So, I cautioned HRH not to order anything else at the same time. He has some rather rare Bob's Red Mill products he is wanting and the last thing we need is ruined grains.
Have had to wait around for pharmacy to call. I definitely had a refill due to me, but the automated phone system was impossible and the computer way off. So, a bit of an argument with a person who called me back, finally, and says they will give me a partial refill ???? But that, at least, will be ready soon. I'm disappointed in their ongoing auto-phone changes. Now they have one that expects you to speak rather than numerically answer questions and I think it's even less helpful.
Rescued a greens-and-sprouts smoothie recipe today after cutting into a new avocado and finding it rotten. Banana and other fruit to the rescue.
Hearing from Ramblin' about Perry Mason makes me smile. (Agreeing that LadyM's flat time happened at the RIGHT place!)
Suddenly reached the end of Father Brown mysteries and was not astute enough to know that was about to happen, so, a little disappointed in that. I knew it seemed awfully "tie-the-ends-up" with the return of an original character, for instance. Sigh. Unless Mark wants to do more someday, I guess that's that. The spin-off is still going, with a new season.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
hi d harriet - i listened to Aretha too this afternoon! it's fun to work to music.
what type of grains from bob's red mill do you get? just curious
partial refills are frustrating!!!
I stopped getting mom's meds from wal ..... bc of their answering system etc.
I used to love father brown - I didn't know he is not doing more - I do like sister Boniface but I loved father brown.
hi d Nancy I love hearing about your day as well as what you are reading.
welcome home d twins - yay on getting to the grocery store and walking the dog. didn't the tin man have a special can of something to get unstuck... maybe we can come up with a special SHE unstick tuchas spray - we would make millions.
hello to everyone
played with dogs again, send the helper home early, fed mom, she is laying down but I have to get her up again so that she sleeps tonight. I went to the bank and helper put her to bed.
watering out front right now.
I need to vacuum but mom is resting.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Waving madly to bw2! Yes, I got unstuck and made the chili and kitchen isn't too bad. I'm calling it a night when I finish this bowl. I played outside with the dog some - trying to give her plenty of attention. "Squirrel" got a workout.
I'll join the pharmacy frustrations. I use CVS and we used to have one next to the grocery at the bottom of our hill. They don't do phone calls, only a recording if you call, but I could walk in there and actually talk to them. That store closed - the other one is further away and the parking lot can be crazy. And sometimes you go in and there's quite a line waiting to pick up scripts.
Lovely for Harriet to have dance music and feel like dancing too!
Zucchini sounds good, Nancy. Does it have enough fiber to make a difference? (I've been eating my little tomatoes from the backyard almost straight off the vine, btw.)
Well yes, you have been productive, Mystery Woman! I'm impressed with your consistency with that playroom - and holding your kids "feet to the fire" on their part.
RR, you are feeling better! Impressed with your vacuuming and laundry today. Personally, I never got into Perry Mason - perhaps it was my childhood ADHD? Glad you're enjoying it and screening out some of the noise.
End of the review, but waving at LadyM. So nice to have the flat tire at home instead of out and about. Easy to deal with. You're still getting tomatoes? I think I have a tomato hornworm on the loose outside. Trimmed off some parts of the plant that's not in great shape - and it didn't like the rain either. The one with the tiny tomatoes is going crazy.
I'm going to go read "with the dog" in bed. I have a list for tomorrow and will hit it hard in the morning.
