Today's garden harvest included 10 bell peppers, 7 okra, and 2 tomatoes. The bell peppers are the largest I've ever grown—possibly the biggest I've ever seen. I'll be picking a show to watch while chopping them for the freezer.

With the recent rains, the grass mowing has gotten away from me. It definitely needs to be moved up on the list of priorities. I enjoy mowing, so it doesn’t really feel like a chore.

I've ping-ponged back home. Had two quick errands I was going to do and forgot one. It may be one of those "nice to do" things I can let go, but I'll see. A.m. routine done, I need to regroup. What's next?

-put extra bottled water in car, also toothpicks and index cards for jotting things down

-fill containers for meds/vitamins

LadyM, we use a lawn service, I think they took this week off mowing to do a pesticide or weed spray or possibly fertilizer. They were here this a.m. I wish we could go organic but dh wants a nice yard, and we have almost no topsoil here. WTG on the garden bounty!6

Yes, bw2, so sorry some one has poison out. Often it's for rats/mice and then it gets up the food chain: cats, racoons, possums, dogs...

Coming back through, breaking for 15 min. I didn't have to clean the travel CPAP - after the last trip when I left a part behind I had ordered replacements for most of the tubing/mask and stuff. So I took the opportunity to clean our the two bedside drawers and organize CPAP stuff so I can find what I have.

-upstairs bathroom and bedroom spiff, as needed.

I'm giving myself a little extra time off. I looked at dog sitter info and started it, then went outside and cleared away some tomato vines that I pruned yesterday. I think I have a tomato hornworm.

Also ping-ponged back home. Only disappointment was that we couldn't pick up scripts after all. They will be ready next Errand Day, which will likely be before a week, anyway.

As we drove in, HRH pointed out that the volunteer impatiens in the front beds are showing off a little. There is a white included - I never plant white there, lol. So, a parent or perhaps a latent seed from a mix last year finally appearing.

Back home, I concentrated on the cardfile itself some, since I'm organizing at desk anyway. Some general results in that thread.

Tomato hornworm - as I recall you can't do much better than picking them off by hand? Not sure. but I think I remember that icky time in my garden. I'm sure I was making faces.

LadyM, I meant to say what serendipity that a volunteer unexpected tomato is one that has done so well. Reminds me I want a tomato sandwich today while I still can! Best wishes to ds.

I had three dead chipmunks on our property this week.
we use salt, a touch of dawn and vinegar for our weeds . I think someone was having a chipmunk problem and chose this route

Harriet, aren't prescriptions a pain? I found when refilling my containers for next week that drugstore filled an old script - for 5 mg of a med to be cut in half, instead of the updated script (taking twice as much) that I brought in after seeing doc earlier in the year. So that will take a trip to talk to pharmacist or tech. I wonder if they lost the new script I took in?

And yes, tomato hornworms or tobacco worms must be taken off by hand. Trouble is, I'm only seeing their handiwork (branches w/o leaves), not the worms themselves.

Hi, everybody!

I am being a bad girl -- here procrastinating rather than doing the next step in the grocery process -- checking what we need against what we have. There are just so many places to check (kitchen cupboards, spice rack, fridge/freezer, downstairs freezer, and pantry shelves) that it's a pain. DH tries to help, but he'll go to one place (usually the pantry shelves) and expect me to call out things to him, and the grocery list is organized by where things are in the store, not where they are kept in the house. I wish I had database software and the knowledge to use it.

Both kids are sick. DC is just about getting over a cold; they still have some sniffles and a scratchy throat, but it never got so bad that they didn't go to school -- just enough that they wore a mask. DD, however, is in the thick of it. She's much worse than DC was. Either what's been going around the college isn't as bad as what the preschoolers are spreading, or DD has the "man flu." Meanwhile, I am taking Zicam and crossing my fingers.

My head is buzzy enough that I can't keep your posts in there long enough to comment. I guess the ADHD meds aren't working today. I will have to just send love to you all!
