Mom is still with us! She's tough as nails. She even opened her eyes when I came in the room. She was a bit agitated, so I had the sense she knew I had arrived.

trissie, no, dbro and dniece went home on Sunday. I'd be grumbling a lot more if he were here, I'm afraid. Glad you can work from home tomorrow.

Wow - only 15 weeks until Christmas?!

I'm sitting with Mom, playing classical music on my laptop, which she likes. They brought in a cart full of snack foods. I think it's intended for a group that might be sitting with their loved one, there's so much food! And 3 pitchers of drinks. I indulged in a pack of chips and some crackers and cheese.

I'm getting ready to leave now and run some errands - and also literally go on a run. As long as Mom is here, I'll be back later.

(((helia))) I'm glad that you don't have to do emotional labour for your db at this time and can just focus on yourself and your dmother. It's worked out best for your db and his dd, too. They have had the chance to see your dmother before she passes, but are not present for the part that would be hardest for them to cope with (and that they would therefore be leaning most heavily on you.)

Silly dogs scared away your landscaping crew, Bama. Any grass that the deer eat is grass that you don't have to mow, LOL.
I think that we need a daily critter report from you (on the days that you are around), because you get more interesting wildlife than I do.

Pansies for winter sounds wonderful, Kittykatt. I have to treat pansies like cut flowers, because that's about how long they live in my care.
Am I correct in interpreting that the flapjack you dropped off at the Y was a pancake at the YMCA? I'm trying to figure out why a single pancake and not a stack of them.

Trissie, 15 !weeks until the big day??!!!! I can o my think of everything I can haven't done..But being sensible, there is still time!

Dogged, I'm on the rota to bake a cake for the new resident at the YMCA that week, which forms part of their "welcome pack". Flapjack is a type of biscuit /traybake, made from oats, butter, sugar and golden syrup, baked in the oven until just set, (but not tooth-shattering concrete!) and cut into slices when cold. It's advantages are, it's quick and simple to make, tastes good and keeps very well. That's why I usually make it when my turn on the rota arrives. (It's a different resident who will receive the cake each time, so it doesn't matter if you.make the same thing each time.)

Waitrose have delivered, the groceries have been PA and everyone has been fed. I'm tired this evening - having fun is somehow tiring! So maybe and early night for me. But I med to post my list for tomorrow first.
