I don’t think you can go wrong with two nice coats, Trissie. Shopping is not my thing FFB. I do a clothes service Stitch Fix and get 5-7 new pieces 2-3 times a year in the mail and then rarely buy anything else. I am sure the cats will be happy once they get over the indignity of the grooming, kittykatt. I need to talk to DD32 and decide what we are going to do.

1-temp and meds for DD32
2-shower, dress and pick up bedroom
3-walk outside

Menus
Saturday-cranberry thyme chicken
Sunday-chicken/black bean and rice bowls
Monday-ground turkey tacos
Tuesday-red lentil soup
Wednesday-DD32 out/leftovers for me
Thursday-DD32 out/leftovers for me
Friday-out after Hopkins

L.Ann, I don't particularly enjoy clothes shopping either. Especially since I am what is considered a plus size here and the clothes designers think that if you're unfortunate and are over forty years and a plus size on top of it, all you want to wear is black and vomit-brown circus tents. I apologize to anybody who does enjoy vomit-brown circus tent, but I have curves and I don't mind showing them in a properly fitting blouse or knee-lenght skirt! :-) Thanks God for Marks&Spencer, but something happened to their chief designer / buyer and while some 15 years ago, I knew I could walk in their store and pick up several business suits, both basic and fashion statement type, and cardigans and shirts in all colors, now they mostly carry weird unflattering stuff and it's hard to find something nice.

trissie, sounds like a productive shopping trip! LOL! @ vomit brown circus tents! I've always had 2 heavy winter coats. One is shorter, for more active times, like skiing - which I don't do anymore  , and one longer (to the knees) down coat for the coldest days and more formal events. You probably have a ski coat too but maybe you don't wear it at other times. I have several coats that are medium warm for cold days - but not super cold days, like a wool pea coat for more formal events and several different sorts of more casual coats. You probably have several too. Personally, when you live in an area with serious winters, I think having several winter coats makes a lot of sense. -- Interesting web page re: business attire. I dress like a teacher, kind of business casual - smart casual. No jeans.
What did you and DD32 decide to do today, L Ann?
FFB, glad the boys sports' classes are convenient. Family movie night sounds fun! I hope Mr. NG gets the closer internship.
Wow, you were a mean cat mom today, Kitty. Have they forgiven you yet? That's interesting about Tolkien and Mt. Stromboli.

Well, no call about my mom so I'll plan to go in to sit with her here pretty soon. I think dd27 might come by at some point. I just bring work, reading, knitting, and classical music, and it's an OK time. I chat to Mom once in a while. I'm so glad I didn't have to go down to IL to sit with her in that small shared NH room she was in down there. I'm not sure there would even be room for a comfy chair at her bedside -- and I'd be stuck there for days as this process is taking longer than I thought.

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- gather stuff

Later:
- make the bed
- tidy the kitchen
- sit with Mom
- some qt
- payroll: planning out next week
- knitting progress
- read book
- will dd27 stop by?
- eventually, home for lunch
- jog
- darks: w d f pa
- will I see AC?
- dinner: tamales (or something else from freezer), rice, green salad
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps -- try to do this today

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email reply to CE
- email deletions + weather website - high of 76*F today

Morning all. Kittykat sorry about the chair. Ugh I feel you on that. The enzyme cleaner is a necessity in this house though the worst of the messes were when Stella was doing poorly. When she flares up in crystals she only makes tiny bits of wet . But trying more often. I think she's doing better again now. The others I am sure do it out of complete behavioral. Mostly they all go outside to do their business in summer. So it's a bit better.

Trissie the 2 coats sound perfect. I am a hardware store receiver merchandiser sales whatnot. No business wear hear. It's jeans or black pants and my red vest or sweater with whatever under. Dh closet I should declutter. He has a couple pairs of jeans in there that may not even fit. He has a few of the same pairs black cargo style pants for work that are what he wears for everything. Just a drawer full of t-shirts and his red work shirts. He's easy.

Frenchie i too hope you can find time to put the effort in for a different closer job. And the closer training job for mrng works out.

Helian that sounds like a sensible plan
I'm glad you can be at home for this stage.

I have been looking for a few falling winter wear new things. My appointment in the next town I think I'm just going to go down on my own. It's almost 2 hours drive. Probably a fairly short appointment to make sure everything stayed from surgery. Then there's a few stores I can take my own time shopping in without someone waiting for me lol.

I need to follow Kittykat example today. I had ideas. Garden needs to be harvested. I have a few things in the house that need to be dealt with. Can I motivate my kitchen helper? Apples. There's herbs. Dill. Carrots. Cabbage can sit there . His way of making pickles he could make a jar of cucumber pickles or a few mixed ones. I have probably 10 pickle cukes? Will they keep growing?

But it's also raining outside. And I won't be shocked if I get a call from dad. He I think has decided they will take the rv and take a couple days to drive down to see mom's sister and stay there for a bit. If anything that will give him a good taste of rv life with mom. But I feel like he might want me to come so he can prep better. We'll see. I should declutter his jars etc anyway and collect some for dd. Might see her in a couple weeks.

So 2 maybe 3 sets of plans. Either some declutter in dad's pantry closet. Oh wait he wants me to find him some sheets so I should go sort through the ones he thinks he can't use. ... or cooking baking with garden stuff with ds here.... or rainy day inside cleaning cause it's wet and raining out.

And music practice a little when she sends me songs. And a different prep tomorrow for church instead of lunch after we are doing brunch before. So I need to do up my fruit platter. Breakfast at 10. Service shifts 15 20 minutes. But morning worship practice at 8 instead of 9 so I have to prep my fruit today not morning.

Yikes. That is a lot of options and I feel like I'm going to get bare minimum of any of that done. Depends on how motivated ds is too he may or may not get fully involved in garden prep. Plus he made supper last night. The dw got the prep dishes. He made an absolutely delightful lasagna. But the kitchen looks like he was cooking... eeeks. I should leave it and let him see the remaining mess first 🙃 gonna have to instill some cleaner cooking skills. I know I am a terrible role model... the dilemma 😫

Ugh the saga of what to do on a rainy harvest day that may or may not get hijacked with family needs. ...

Priority list

Fruit tray for tomorrow
Music prep and organized and practice
Basic routines
Kitchen clean with ds Help
Sheets for dad from store
Sort his Sheets he thinks the ones my sister had are all king( they're not)
Declutter his jars

Garden produce dealings

Freeze some dill
Blanch and freeze kale
Pull onions and carrots
Check rhubarb in the back can I still use
Make apple pie and maybe rhubarb berry pie and ds wanted to try sausage rolls
Cukes ?
Figure out what to do with herb pots
Put away potatoes into closet

Today's tada list

Send garbage out with dh
Soak when dh leaves
Clean that shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some

lauralind, bare minimum means that things are not getting worse, and it's always a good thing!
helia, I have a ski jacket - in a sensible black color, meaning I can wear it for any non-work/formal occasion all winter. Then a knee-lenght formal winter coat, generally in a sensible dark color, but the last one was in pretty light blue (which kinda clashed with my favourite red sweaters, but that didn't stop me from wearing it). But the fabric was rather prone to pilling and it looks bad and I just don't have the energy or time needed to rescue it (I will keep it and hope to work on it during the winter, but it's just not wearable any more right now). The sensible and boring new black coat is mid-calf, meaning I will be warm even while wearing a skirt (mind you, I commute by public transportation, so waiting outside for a bus in whatever weather is my reality), but will look like I was attending a funeral. The fashionable royal blue is knee-lenght, so still pretty warming. I used to have (ages and ages ago) an ankle-lenght vintage fitted tweed coat (think princess Catherine style, with the deep V-neckline), which I love, like, the best, because it is such a flattering silhouette, but unless I splurge on Alexander McQueen, I haven't seen them sold in ages!

oh, well, I guess I am busted, I do like fashion. It's just that it looks better in my head than on my no longer size 8 body :-)

Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. Spring cleaning the front hall sounds impressive to me.
I'm also impressed that you have access to nematodes. When I worked at Home Depot, we only sold them for a few weeks in spring.
Freddie! That is not the way to win friends and influence people! I can relax, as Germane is not capable of jumping up on the furniture, and I removed almost all fabrics from the floors her first weekend here.
If only you could connect nail clipping to Freddie's creative litter boxes, because then the other cats would use peer pressure to discourage him.

I hope that your dh gets the closer internship, FrenchFly, and that you get that job that is closer to your home.
It's great that you were able to get your younger ds into sports in the same town as your older ds. It's so good for children to have more than one group of friends.

WTG on a successful shopping trip, trissie, to benefit from the good sales.
Apple stuffed chicken breasts?
Clothes stores in Canada were like that in the 1980's and 1990's too, trissie. They only catered to small sizes, and would look down their noses at you if you weren't in their targe market of 20=year-olds. They didn't pay attention to the fact that the main demographic, boomers, had aged past that, and that the generation coming along after us were relatively tiny. There was a major reckoning with the collapse of a lot of retail stores, and I confess to a smug satisfaction at the time. I'm sure that we will have some of those types of stores, and the millennial generation is a big one, but it's more common for women's stores to cover all of the sizes.

That sounds like a good way to avoid shopping, L.Ann.

You are so right, helia, and it was a better move for your dmother to be closer to you.

I agree with trissie, Lauralind. Anything you get done is helping to improve things.

The absolutely worst are the sports attire stores. Like, do they have a policy that says fat people should be discouraged from exercising? Or do they believe that the young, thin and athletic would be offended if they ever encountered a fat person in the same running jacket? :-) Most of the time, they do not even carry anything in size L, let alone anything bigger! Plus a lot of them "size up", meaning that something marked as "large" is actually "medium". Which is probably because they want to sell other sport equipment (by convincing their customers that they are fat).
