Good afternoon.

Oh helia, I’m so sorry for your loss. Anticipatory grief is so hard, now the real deal was almost a relief for me. Grieve in your own way for as long as you need. Sending love and prayers to you and your family.

I tried to cuops so random comments: cue the pink panther theme when dogged was trying to sneak to the laundry room without germane Friday night.
Dd2 worked at Nike last summer. The clothes were like walking through a child’s clothing store. My arm might fit in a legging. Even dd, who is small, would be forced into larger sizes, I can see how young people get anxiety and disorders. My day wasn’t much different, only there weren’t plus size stores.
I do hope churches were filled to the rim today. A good result from a bad thing. God is good always.
Gma, I hope your mom isn’t having any ill effects today. My mom had difficulty walking to the bathroom the last month due to her sciatic nerve issues so we got a toilet for the living room. At first she was disgusted, then it got to the point where she would go while watching me mow her yard and yell for me to come empty it lol.
Doggedly, that show sounds so interesting. I remember being a nanny a lifetime ago, working my way through college, and having to take very young children to tennis and swimming lessons. It was a class thing back then. Now everyone has access. I don’t know what the upper class does here to separate themselves now.
I remember Tom hanks on some show decades ago bragging about a huge flat screen tv with surround sound he had just purchased for some ginormous amount of money. Now it’s in most homes.

I just came to post a list so I don’t get distracted lol so let’s get at it!

Cook brunch
Cook supper (crockpot)
Mow
Laundry - dh’s clothes, my clothes, lr covers, dh’s bedding
Walk, brush dogs
Trim gardenia bushes
Pull up bridal wreath x2
Trim others in front flower bed
Make hummingbird feed

trissie thanks for the picture. This year the only tomatoes we have eaten are the ones growing in buckets. Remind me to share a picture if you want. The tomatoes in the soil are growing too, but getting attacked by slugs / snails, or just too busy doing leaves, there are green tomatoes but it looks like they will never ripen. Sorry about the German test for your DS. Maybe just having a look at the previous lessons can help ?

helia glad you were able to spend time with family today.

Kittykatt thanks for sharing your Sunday menu :)

Have a nice Sunday Bama !

Have a good time at church laura !

Hi Peaches, Harriet, blessed ! Hi to anyone else I forgot.

Kids are in bed, dinner is cleaned up, dishwasher is running, my resume and letter have been sent, a few veggies were harvested in spite of the rain, homework was done, the kids' clothes are ready for tomorrow... So the day was rather successful. Not many house chores were done. No time in the Zone today. And I still intend to spend a few minutes checking the fall-winter tops in my tiny closet, I'm afraid most are wrinkled, maybe some need some cleaning, before I can start wearing them. And I need to clean all the short-sleeved ones before putting them away for the colder months.

TADAs
vacuumeds bedrooms upstairs
applied for job
time in garden
dinner done, cleaned up
kids in bed, before bed routines done

TODO
weekly to-dos for next week
quick look at long sleeved tops in my closet : are they ready for the colder months ?
before bed routine, relax, bed early

Have a peaceful evening and night everyone !

Just a quick CI as it's late and I'm in bed.

WTH getting your job application done, FFB.

Bama, over here, "class" and " money" are not necessarily the same thing. It would not be upper class to buy a huge TV, (ostentatious and vulgar) and certainly not to brag about it. That's the kind of the thing the "nouveau riche" would do, or, at the other end of the scale, something that had been bought on credit.

True story, a number of years ago, there was a move to end the policy of having the money for people's council tax benefit simply transferred from one council.accout to another, as this was considered to be "degrading" and, instead, paid into the claimant's bank account for them to pay the council. There was one lone voice from a wise councillor who said he felt people might be tempted to make "unwise choices" with all this money suddenly deposited in their account. (Remember this wasn't actually the individual's money, it was a benefit paid to them for the sole purpose of paying a bill.) Over the next few months, the number of huge flat screen TVs sold went up, as did the council tax arrears. :( There were also several requests from people actually asking to return to the old system, as they could budget better, and also their partner couldn't drink or gamble away the "extra" money. And the kind hearted and realistic council workers actually made this happen for those people.

Waving to anyone I've missed!

Night night, everyone!

I don’t have strong feelings either way about screen time, FFB. I was probably somewhere between the two as a parent. I just try to go with whatever each family does when I have their kiddos. I unfortunately managed to raise three nonreaders despite being a voracious reader. Of the older grandkids we have one reader and one who would prefer not to.

We went to Downton Abbey helian. It was great if you like the Downton movies.

1-vacuum and DD32 dust
2-make lunch and set up coffee
3-FACE

Menus
Monday-ground turkey tacos
Tuesday-red lentil soup
Wednesday-DD32 out/leftovers for me
Thursday-DD32 out/leftovers for me
Friday-out after Hopkins

Events
Sunday-walk w/friend@9, Downton Abbey @1, DD32 to Toy Story with DD 38@11:30
Monday--Little Bit 7:40-5, Little Bit school 9:15-11:45, urn pick up
Tuesday--Little Bit 7:40-5, Little Bit school 9:15-11:45, 10 dentist me crown
Wednesday--Little Bit 7:40-5, Little Bit school 9:15-11:45, DD32 PS 3-8, lunch w/friends at 12:15
Thursday--Little Bit 7:40-5, Little Bit school 9:15-11:45, DD32 32 PS 3-8, fall book preview@8
Friday- Hopkins

Weekly House Blessing-mop kitchen, dining room, vacuum
Extra Stuff- work on last Shutterfly book, fix dress for DD32’s dance, make wrapping paper with Little Bit
Little Errands-drop off DM’s driver’s license, send email and documentation to delete DM’s Facebook accounts, mail package to Utah, bank
Phone calls-pick up urn

Accomplishments
-stretching and knee exercises
-breakfast for dog me and DD32
-temp and meds for DDD32
- dress and pick up bedroom
-walk with friend
-email to DD32s doctor
-take DD32 to her sisters for the movie
-maybe run a couple of errands before my movie
-movie
-out to dinner

Kittykatt, your old money is probably older than ours but we have old money and new money here too. Old is quiet, reserved, and new money (Hollywood, business people) is pretty garish to me. Of course I know nothing of either other than what is online or those entertainment type shows which I avoid. When I worked at hospital I met some awesome doctors (not huge money by world standards but very well off for living here) and am still friends with some. Most newcomers aren’t friendly and have an attitude I don’t care for.
I grew up in Mobile, birthplace to Mardi Gras, and some of the older crews were very nice. These days it’s all about parties and drinking. Not the same at all. Or maybe I’m just more aware of behind the scenes now. My first 2 jobs, one for the city and one for a company that was started by old Mobilians, taught me a lot about people.
Sweet dreams.
The mower wouldn’t cooperate, the belt kept coming off, so I’m back inside.
