Marvelous Monday?

Post by lucylee »

Y'all, I know it's 3:00 a.m. but I am still awake -- long nap(s) this afternoon/evening, and I'm just getting things settled in for the night. Came in here to print off something from FB, and decided I'd just get y'all started for the week. :lol: I know I'll be sleeping like a rock when you read this.

It has been a productive day, however -- after church dgd and I sprayed off the porch furniture and washed it a bit with Dawn detergent. I also sprayed the grass spots in the driveway -- it probably needs resurfacing but that is definitely not a project for this year! I want to let the swing and the rockers dry thoroughly and then I guess I will go over them with some stain and varnish. I'm not sure what to do about the seats and backs of the rockers, however. :?: They are not wooden but a sort of cane? straw? Very durable -- they've probably been sitting on the porch 35-40 years. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!
DGD had a ball playing in the water -- UNTIL she got out in the grass and stepped in some ants. We sprayed them off, got her inside and sprayed her feet with Benadryl spray, loaded her up with lime sherbet, and she was much better.

I had a really weird dream while I was napping, after dgd left. I dreamed I was at my parents' home, by myself -- my dad was out and my mom was with my dying grandfather. It felt weird to be there, I didn't feel at "home" at all. Then I was at my grandfather's visitation, and dh showed up, and it was like I was in high school again and we were broken up, and when he came through the line, I hugged him and I thought "WHY haven't we been talking??? HE is the ONLY person I want to talk to!!!" Then I woke up, and for a minute, I couldn't remember where he was and why we weren't talking, and it then I remembered... and I was really sad again. I guess that's just part of it. It's been 17 months this past weekend -- well, Tuesday will be exactly 17 months since his funeral.

Okay -- on to making Monday more marvelous?
I have a TON of stuff to do --
* DPC --
-- Belk, because I'm afraid I've messed up and will pay them twice this month
-- termite people, to pay via phone, because the last check I mailed to them is still circulating somewhere in the postal system
* Pay two actual bills in town
* Drop off items to hem with lady in town
* DGS' ballgame at 5:30
* Possibly have dgrands spend the night, if ds' surgery is scheduled early Tuesday morning
In addition to the regular "stuff" --
* Laundry
* WHB clean bathrooms

So -- I better get some sleep, right? Hope y'all have a great day.

(((Helia))) Praying for you and your family.
Tomorrow is another day.

You ended that with a question mark, Lucylee! maybe it's Too Much Monday? Mainly Monday? I feel like a Monday here with my hair slightly on fire already.

Ta das so far....
-called pool company about the HOA pool (gal who is chair is in the hospital... and she just had a baby six weeks ago.)
-Instacart order done
-sold three stamp sets from yesterday but can't invoice yet because gal says she can't pm me on Facebook

Today's list - in honor of the "Fun and Games" gals...
-workout at two
-groceries (ordered for 11 to 1 p.m.
-dog Sentinel
-CVS for script
-Put away HOA files in garage (need dh to move boxes again because he's got his car in the garage)
-Roomba
-call re: pool pump running...DONE, and they will contact me if needed

Dh has already been out for 6 a.m workout, he's back, lol. I was up perhaps 7:45 after alarm went off beginning at 7:15.

Message interupted to start laundry, walk dog, talk to yard people. I talked to F I L of neighbor who is in hospital - she's in ICU but is hoping to be moved to a room today. Has bacterial infection probably picked up when baby was born six weeks ago...

Busy day so far. Next up s2s and breakfast/brunch

Good Morning!

LucyLee - Thank you for getting us started this morning.

Time feels like it's flying by today. Where does it all go? I'm continually working on the SHE cards using habit stacking in time blocks. Even when it doesn't feel like I've accomplished much, I can see how much I've actually done. Raising teens, keeping an eye on DH, managing public and home school, preventing the house from turning into a pigsty, and keeping everyone fed all require constant, repetitive actions. Just keeping everything running smoothly feels like more than a full-time job.

Today i am grateful for .....
** Sunshine.
** Beautiful big blue skies filled with fluffy clouds
** Clean air
** Hugs given/received from lifelong friends while walking the trails at the park
** The cucumber plants are thriving! With daytime temperatures still in the mid-90s, there should be plenty of time for them to produce abundantly.

LOL, bw2, yes, bring the fire extinguisher in! :lol: :lol: :lol: Dh is obsessed now with our medical savings account and is looking for a debit card for it. I don't have it, never have, and we've never withdrawn anything from it to my knowledge. At this point I'd like to strangle him.

Ta da: groceries put away
Ta da: most of a.m. routine done, still finishing my apple and yogurt. Will brush teeth when done.
Ta da: texted neighbor about neighbor in hospital, not for public consumption for she is close to neighbor in hospital.
Ta da: don't know what else. Added a bunch of things to my lists but feel like I'm going in circles. Still don't have info to invoice stamps that I'm selling.

I picked Zinnias yesterday, they are taller than my head and so many blooms. I'm leaving a lot for the birds and hummingbirds. (I found a dead hummingbird in our screened porch yesterday. Must have gotten in and got shut up. I bet dog sitter propped door open to outside.) I'm also still harvesting tomatoes....

Ta da: suitcases put away and Roomba going.

Lady M, I feel the same way. The day gets away from me.

d twins
my dh has instantitis when he wants things. I wonder if your dh wants to find it (as we saw) "now" - just like my dh!
my dh waits until I am asleep, helping mom, in the middle of something etc. He did that yesterday with the dogs collars.
He can never understand why I get frustrated.

He also acts like I am asking him to do something right away- I don't but he gets a bit flustered and I have to remind him that the next couple days are okay. It bothers his brain.

yay on groceries put away
yay on am routines
yay on suitcase put away and Roomba going
zinnias sound lovely
so sad about the hummingbird -

d lady
good day to you!
it is a flying by day; isn't it!
can you imagine what it would be like if you didn't have your cards done or the blocks of time. it is a full time job.
nice that your cucumbers are thriving
it is always a joy to be here with you!

it's been a little tough here bc I am consistently interrupted. for the first time dd is resting, mom is taking a walk (by wheelchair) with her wonderful helper.dd younger needs help laying down or standing up - most times she can stand up. She is still in pain but not as constant as two days ago
dogs are needy - I haven't played ball w them yet. mom and helper just came home.

what's next:
D's:
DON'T leave IT THERE -PUT IS AWAY
Dishes: wash. put away etc. etc
Dogs
Duds wash dry. put away
Dinner
it is always a joy to be here with you!
