Marvelous Monday?

I can check off "start something productive" from my morning tasks -- well -- it actually was after noon when I got out of the house, but -- ta da!
* s2s, talked to DS (Surgery will be early; he has to be at hospital at 5:15 in the morning! Dgrands will spend the night with me.)
* Bible reading (still need to prepare lesson for Wed. night)
* started load of laundry (towels)
* called re: Belk bill -- they say my balance due is $0, so I will accept that.
* called termite people -- authorized payment on card they have on file.
* called dh's cousin to let her know about program on RFD, which she asked about yesterday
* paid electric bill
* paid radio station (it's a contribution for local non-profit station to keep AU football broadcast)
* post office
* drug store
* Wmart
* lunch -- pizza from gas station
* put towels in the dryer
* put away groceries

Yes, Twins, the question mark... I was not at all certain it would be a "marvelous" day when I typed that. I was awake until around 5:00 a.m. But I should get in bed at a more normal time tonight, with dgrands here. I'll have to get up and do the school drop off in the morning. I'm so sorry your friend is having so much trouble so soon after her baby was born.
BTW -- I hope you've got the fire out by now!

Nancy, I know my day starts better if I shower before bed... and still, sometimes I just can't make myself do it!

LadyM, I agree with Harriet, it would be hard to believe your house could ever resemble a pigsty! I don't know how on earth you manage all you do in a day! That's good DS is taking dd into town, even if you do have to provide gas and pizza! LOL!

HUGS -- y'all, I met a former student/distant cousin (my mom and her grandmother were first cousins) at Wmart, and she hugged me and said she loved me! Sometimes it's nice to actually go into the store and not do the pick-up.

Instantitis. Oh yes. DH to some extent, but my ddad EXACTLY. Dmom and I used to say a man thinks anything that needs doing can be done by a woman in half the time and half the trouble as it would take HIM to do it.

Glad to hear HRH had a relatively pain-less visit to the dermatologist. I do hate when they freeze those things. It doesn't feel like "freezing" -- it feels like FIRE. I need to have a spot done on my leg.

Last night's dream wasn't really a nightmare... just so disconcerting that I woke up and for just a minute, I didn't know where dh was and why we hadn't talked in so long.

I think I missed commenting to someone. Please forgive me. I must get out of this house and off to the ballgame. We are playing a team that has a huge controversy brewing. I'll put it in J&C.

LadyM, but all of the teens will be out of the house awhile!

True! And I didn't have to make the 50 mile drive as well as finding something to do to waste an hour. Last time we walked the aisle of Hobby lobby...over and over. Didn't find a thing to buy so it was truly just an effort of letting time pass.

Because DS17 surrounds himself with friends there were 3 extra teens with him. That means I bought supper for 5 teens. Worth it!

Both teens' bedrooms are perpetually on the verge of pig-sty status. It’s not that they’re dirty, just overflowing with STUFF. DD14 is currently making bead bracelets and kandi gloves, with supplies scattered across her bedroom floor. I added an automatic fragrance dispenser to her room today and had to tiptoe around the supplies. She claims it’s organized, but all I see are multiple containers of beads, ready to spill and create chaos. I’m reminding myself to pick my battles carefully… and this is not one I’m choosing. Instead, I’m grateful that DD14 and her friend can sit on her bedroom floor, surrounded by supplies, chatting nonstop while creating their masterpieces.

Hmmm,,, I thought I posted earlier.

We had a couple of turkey drumsticks for supper. I also put potatoes, carrots and onions on the same sheet pan. I have no idea where the large sheet pan went, but I only had the smaller one in the house. Time to go buy a larger one. I'm quite sure it's in the freezer outside.

I also made a yam/sweet potato for dh. I made the mistake of wrapping it in foil. He ate the whole thing, but I could tell he wasn't enjoying it. He was also getting frustrated at the turkey drumstick. I forgot how annoying all those tendons (?) can be to eat around. Dh get's annoyed when he has a knife that he doesn't think is sharp enough. None of the knives are ever sharp enough for him.

When I came home at lunch time he was sleeping soundly on the couch/sofa. I didn't wake him up. He thinks he slept for around 2 hours on the couch/sofa. He said he had a ham and cheese sandwich just before he fell asleep. He also goes to sleep after supper. But.... he is also up for most of the night. Every time I wake up, he's playing games on his phone.
