Morning all. I caught up on yesterday and this morning. I guess I didn't get here yesterday. Lots going on.
Kittykat poor Matilda. I hope they can get her sorted soon.
Trissie hopefully it isn't broken. Is that the same twin that broke her leg a while ago? So many apples. We made a little apple pie last weekend. From dad's tree that we should have picked weeks ago. The crows wrecked most of them. That's how the harvest went there.
Lann have a great beach trip. How wonderful.
Bama I am so sorry about the diagnosis. Such a hard road.
I hope your boss will be fine with that arrangement frenchie. Don't they have to make allowances for child care ? Maybe not everywhere. I hope your job search for something different is successful. You are not happy there.
See you later on doggedly.
Helian sounds like things are falling in place for mom's service. When is it planned for? Hope you get some down time today.
I wasn't actually going to greet everyone. 20 minutes later... Sunday morning and I am not on music so lots of time. I didn't get here yesterday. Morning was just kinda lazy. Laundry. Kitchen. Breakfast. I was so sore and achy I almost skipped shower/soak but decided to soak at like 1030 ish. Very slow motion morning. Then like 1 ish we went to mom and dad's and did some firewood. Dad had done some in morning by himself so he was a bit tired already. He overdid it again. His heart winged and I had to tell him go rest. We came to help you so you don't have to do it. Ended up getting pizza for supper. Ds 26 and nephew 18 were there too and 3 large pizza left only 2 pieces.
I still wish I could find help for dad. I folded 3 weeks worth of laundry and I feel like 3 meals of odds and ends. 2 tables in his house. Usually the main one is filled with meds and paperwork etc that he attempts to maintain. They eat i the sun room. This time we sat at the main table. Their supper plates from last night still in the sun room. Coffee cups. Soup bowls in the living room. Ugh. And mom requires him to be full time nurse. He still says he can do the care for her and the like only needs a break to go for coffee etc . I dunno what to help him with anymore. Not sure I like the heart twinge either.
In better news ds and ddil got an accepted offer for a house. We drove by it on the way home. Cute. Not very big but 2 bedroom up and finished basement. It's empty atm. So prayers the rest goes smoothly they can load up the trailer from the storage unit and move it all in.
Today's plan. Finish qt. Some routine. Church. Rest or maybe putter in the garden. Then see how the band session 2 goes later. I don't know if I mentioned i joined a community band that just started. Some are advanced players. Some are advanced taking up a different instrument. Some are completely beginner learning to make a sound not knowing how to read music at all. It's interesting. I dug out the flute again and hope to use it on worship team occasionally as well.
Ooph now I got to move you got my life story.
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Empty dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Declutter island again
General straighten main living space
See what time I have for qt/music etc
Finish getting ready for church

Re: Simone Signoret Sunday @ TDD - C&C
lauralind, yes, it's the same twin who broke her leg. And her foot and her hand two years ago. I am suspecting an inbalanced diet, but she's the most stubborn of my kids, and that's saying something! Yay for the offer on the house being accepted! And ugh about having to keep up with two houses... that's no easy task
helia, there's gonna be a really interesting character coming up in season 3, you have something to look forward to! but it's a 20+ episodes per season series, so it will last you a long time.
Frenchie, the doctors at emergencies are very much not happy to see somebody who has waited for several days, because they have limited weekend staff and usually the doctor tending to the emergency room is also responsible for overseeing the trauma department and doing weekend surgeries. So I try not to be that person who goes there unless it's something that has happened that day or the night before (if something happens on Friday night and does not get better by Saturday morning, I will not wait till Monday, of course)
safe travels, L.Ann!
Are you up again, Dogged?
The house smells of baking apples
It's a really nice apple pie, but it uses 2 kilos of dice and cubed apples and I am rarely in the mood to do that, so it's probably been a couple years since we had it.

Re: Simone Signoret Sunday @ TDD - C&C
Still sitting here. . . About 2.5 hours before we need to leave for church. I guess s2s will happen before my afternoon jog. I may not sweat much though as temps are coolish and a 2 mile jog isn't too strenuous for my body.
trissie, glad I have something to look forward to on NCIS!
That's hard with elderly parents, Lauralind. I was frustrated and upset that my dad wouldn't look into at-home care for my mom. I think she would have liked that better than the nursing home. They have lots of money, even though he said it was too expensive.
Then, he wouldn't look into putting her on a waiting list for a NH in town where it would be so much more convenient for him and friends to visit. Again, he said it was too expensive. I felt it wasn't really my place to push things too hard because of the way our relationships were working at the time. That's great that ds + ddil had their offer accepted!!! I think they'll like having a little more space with the baby. Soon a tot!!
Looks like we have family zoom meeting tonight at 8:15.
Next:
- s2s and self care
- list for WF
- WF odds and ends

Re: Simone Signoret Sunday @ TDD - C&C
Sounds like our situations are similar helian. Yup too expensive and he's not happy with the care and so on and so on. He can keep up he thinks with a little break. But he'll spend money on other things like leave his good phone at home and buy 100 dollar flip phone that will get used a couple times on his trip. Or have me buy sheets cause he thinks all of the ones my sister gave him are too big. When I checked yesterday he had it on sideways . His brain is not functioning very well either.
I have put off the idea of maintaining 2 houses. I do not have it in me. I will do what I can when I am there but refuse to take responsibility of keeping his house for him. My own is not up to my standards either.
Yup Lil j is getting really close to crawling. He has no where to move to in the trailer. He does spend a bit of time at his other grandmas house so that helps but they will be glad to have space. And ds will be able to bring some stuff from here to his own place.
Yikes poor terri. I hope it heals. Hard when they are so picky.

lauralind, it really is a good timing for DS and DDiL to have a place where the little one will have enough space to run around! When can they move?
helia, and if you get through all of NCIS, you will have a couple spin-offs (I really liked the team in NCIS Los Angeles - and I think filming must have been fun, as the female lead ended up marrying one of the male leads' brother, who was his body double
)

Re: Simone Signoret Sunday @ TDD - C&C
Good afternoon!
Trissie, (((Terri))) did I miss a report update, hope it’s ok. Season 3 - is it Abby? Trying to think of who came when…
Helia, hope you’re having a good day. Pre vet study sounds like your brain processes much better than mine. I toured a college here specializing in animal studies but never made it to enrolling. I know my brain and that wasn’t going to work out lol.
Laura, dealing with parents is hard. My mom was easy as she took care of everything, we just followed her wishes. Dh’s family not so much, stubborn and not clear headed , didn’t plan ahead, so it was exhausting. Dealing with multiple homes is hard too. Ours are severely neglected but we chip away what we can. They’re all in good shape, completely livable but those continuous chores just keep coming. Keeps you busy.
French, hope you are doing something relaxing and invigorating for yourself.
LAnn, have fun!
Kitty, (((Matilda))), hope all is well.
Dogged, see you when you come back.
Re dh, has many many issues are ongoing, his Native American heritage gives him diabetes, mom is giving him dementia, dads gift is Parkinson’s, he had a stroke in 2011, he is physically hard on his body which has caused back and leg issues and on and on. Hes a fighter for sure, still works, never complains, just does what needs doing next. He sees all the doctors, we go almost weekly to different ones. They mostly push drugs. I find it odd that no doctor ever mentions diet and exercise anymore. What’s up with that? We take it day by day.
We had a lazy morning. Slept in, mowing wore me out, all that fresh air. I slept good. Watched church on tv. Now I need to get moving. Not sure what I want to do, we could drive to the beach and walk the shore, or go to the nearest farmers market and get some vegetables, or work more in the yard… first is eat something.
Hope you all have a wonderful day! <3

Bama, season 3 newcomer is Ziva
(at least that's who I meant). Those were the times... I think introduction of a character like that would be considered very controversial now, but we do love her, don't we? Re your DH, does his Native American heritage at least give him access to some extra medical coverage or something? Otherwise, yeah, genetics sometimes suck (our kids are lucky to inherit genetic disposition for loads of neurologic / psychiatric conditions - it's bipolar disease - from my father - on my side, and ADHD/autistic spectre disorder AND Alzheimmer's from DH's side of the family)
DH's home, and he brought some nasty weather with him. I can see the storm coming, so we quickly ran around the garden securing things. We're almost on hilltop and the winds can get nasty here.

Re: Simone Signoret Sunday @ TDD - C&C
Have wonderful holiday, L.Ann.
LOL, FrenchFly, you bring me back to the days when my little brother would play the theme song for 101 Dalmations over and over and over...
I hope that the church service was interesting, helia.
That is worrying about your dfather's heart, Lauralind. It's too bad: his refusal to accept outside help could lead to his ending up in a nursing home himself, and then all decisions are taken out of his hands. Big WTG on defining and defending your boundaries. That has been such a hard one for me and for so many women.
Hooray for new home for your ds.
I am up now that the day is almost over, lol, trissie. Lucky dkids with a big, homemade apple pie for supper!
Hi, Peaches
Hi, Bama. It sounds like you have some nice options for spending your day. I hope that you enjoy it.
trissie, I love the idea that you can see the weather coming from the top of the hill, like Wuthering Heights.
Sunday
Put away laundry bags
Cleaned up after dog
Treats for dog
Put away dry dishes
Cut up Benedryls and filled Germane’s pill organizer
Benedryl and treats for Germane
Checked laundry and put away dry
Watered plant
