I wasn't actually planning a phone visit with my db before I visit but... once we get talking it's a phone visit. Just adjust my expectations for today.

Yup, trissie, they don't cut you any slack while you are doing things properly, but if you did what they want and it all came crashing down, they'd be pointing the finger at you.
Your case sounds delicious. I actually prefer it without loads of icing, which is the norm here.

It's all relative, helia, as I am always in awe of you, as well as trissie!
I am going to visit my dbrother, and I'm staying longer this time. I was always having to stay less than a week because of my stupid shifts, but this time I am driving up on Saturday and coming back the next Sunday.
I love avocado too. It's a treat when it goes on sale! When you live alone, and they ripen, you are then in the enviable position of having to eat them all before they go off. Luxury, LOL.

We had a nice first two days at the beach …. Beach day one day and a fishing trip on a boat today.

I'm coming back through. It is 11:30 pm and I might be going to bed, even though I'm not ready for payroll tomorrow. . . I did not make many of my goals. I will use my one day in Illinois by myself to finish them.
- slideshow: I have started it and now have enough old photos in digital form that I can finish putting it together away from home
- my talk - haven't even started it
- practice midterm and midterm test - haven't put them together; have an old one to possibly use

Funeral Services - slideshow -- this has it's own line as it's a bigger task and it needs to be done before I leave town bc I won't have a scanner in IL (for old photos) started; then got pics/ scans of lots of photos so I think I can finish putting together a really nice slideshow away from home

Food while in IL - family meal on Friday after the service (bc dd29 is celiac, restaurants are not an option - even those with GF items are not an option as she's been cross-contaminated too many times) + daily food; I can go to a grocery store on Thursday but also want healthy snacks in the car tomorrow -- and of course I'm low on some items now - I have run my errands and am not buying any more food here.

(((helian))) so many details, and you want everything to be very nice for your mom. She was a very special person and you are doing it all so well. All the planning looks very good.

I've planted 3 dozen daffodil bulbs, almost as many tulips, and 2 dozen crocus bulbs. Then 4 mum plants in their pots into the dirt above the bulbs, so there is a little color in my newly landscaped yard. And 5 pumpkins placed. I'm very pleased with how it looks! Dsis3 and her hubby are coming in about 3 weeks. I will be proud to show it off. That was quite a bit of work. I threw away a pair of jeans that were totally worn out - the back was ripped - I don't konw how that happened, but down the butt from the waist to behind above the knee - so that was definitely not work fixing, plus the thigh had 3 worn through spots. I guess I got my $ worth! But they were so comfortable!
And I had a 2 hour meeting at church to help pick hymns between now and Christmas.

More important, several calls to the NH because with the isolation due to COVID, mother has been neglected, and her urine output has shown it. I have called them every 3 hours today to require them to be accountable to give ehr food and drink. Sunday I found her in bed with her food "delivered" to a tray table 5 feet away from her. And she is unable to get out of bed by herself! Further, her urine output has been less than half of the minimum acceptable amount - numbers that would be in the acute kidney failure range! except her only kidney failure is that they are not giving her kidneys anything near adequate to work with! She had one day where her output (therefore her intake) was less than a pint. I thought I was polite enough to make them tend to mother - I told them I knew it wasn't their fault - it was teh fault of the people who had neglected her for 4 days, but now it was their job to correct it. And I will have to do that again tomorrow as well. (while I have a crew here to replace my roof!) SO I have to get up early! they will probably be here around 0630. I have my car on the street so they can put the dumpster on the driveway.
