Write it Down Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

LadyM has recently mentioned her "hip list" that she keeps with her to write things down. Somewhere in our files here, we have instructions for the little booklet out of 8.5 x 11 paper, for keeping the list handy. And Nancy is our master journalist, with journals for different purposes, and Lucylee, I think, also has journals.

I keep a running list in a notebook with pages I can take out and file, and add to each month. Unfortunately, I also have an "After RH" list going, for things that I thought of but didn't have bandwidth for. And my genealogy writing is the surest way to find the holes in research and proof arguments. When I write it down, I'm thinking through the evidence and building it, and if there's something left out, it feels glaring.

What do you write down?

Life is very complicated right now - I am trying to be the calm for everyone and it isn't working to well.
but keep going!!!

my hope is to simplify things for mom and give her peace
give dd's peace for mom's time
my brother I can't do anything to give him peace
help the helpers with a peace as well -
my goal is to have meetings with dd's daily so that they can talk about their fears (of my brother)-his threats and his ability to stop everything and take her away.

goal to listen.

Time to get some calm in our house again but accept where we are.

I have to clean the mom's room. spotless.

Good morning

Cathy - Wondering what you are doing. I'm missing you.

I woke up feeling drained and could have easily gone back to sleep. But as all moms know, sometimes you just can't do what you want. I got the teens up and moving, then started working on my cards. Having them set up in a habit stack format really helps on days when I don't feel like doing them. Completing the cards efficiently is what keeps me motivated to push through and get them done.
47 SHE cards accomplished so far.

DD14 was dropped off at school while chatting about the story she's writing. It's fictional and beyond my understanding, but I love listening to her passionately talk about it. She doesn't share much unless I ask questions, and then she can't hold back her excitement for the story she's creating.

homeschool is happening.

I slept long and hard last night and today is a recovery day. I had a house fairy visit overnight - my dh did an amazing job of clean up. Yes, there are still things to be done but counters are clear and were wiped down and things mostly put away.

The party was great - exhausting as always but very enjoyable. I need to count up to see how many we had before I forget. (That's another write it down - I have records going way way back of who was invited and who attended, and in many cases, what they brought.) Probably about 40? The party broke up earlier this year - most were away by 4 or 4"30 and dh and I both had a tiny nap after, and then he went to bowling. I was asleep when he got home. (I was amazed that he wanted to go to bowling, but he did. Would have skipped and found a sub if I asked, but I figured if he wanted to and had energy that was his deal.)

This has been sitting awhile, as usual here. Dog is walked and some other things done. Dh was taking another bowling ball to be redrilled this a.m., and then he's having lunch with a former co worker.

I'll probably head upstairs soon...might need a nap today, lol.

Twins - Congratulations on the party! You truly are the hostess with the mostest. You make it look effortless. I hope you know how challenging it can be to host such a large gathering in your home. I am in awe.

Hip pad chatter - I recently discovered a 3"x5" pocket notebook that I absolutely love. I’m impressed by the paper’s texture, density, and thickness, and the way my ink pen glides smoothly across it. I also appreciate the dashed vertical grid lines paired with solid horizontal lines, and as a bonus, the paper is waterproof. My hip pads usually take a beating in my pocket, causing the wire to deform and the paper to come loose, but that hasn’t been an issue with this pocket notebook. I snagged them on sale for about $1 each, but now that I know how well they work for me, I’d gladly pay full price—or even more.
