Oh yes, I am amazing at "writing it down."
Actually DOING what is written... not so much.
Again, I did not practice "perfect day begins at night," so here I am -- in yesterday's clothes, no bra, no shower, and it is 2:43 CST.
Oh the plus side,
I have
-- tidied the bed
-- stretched/5 minute exercise
-- put a load of clothes in the washer
-- have the second dozen cookies in the oven

I decided I would get busy at something and stop at 4:30/5:00 to get ready for church.

LadyM said --
I woke up feeling drained and could have easily gone back to sleep. But as all moms know, sometimes you just can't do what you want... started working on my cards. Having them set up in a habit stack format really helps on days when I don't feel like doing them. Completing the cards efficiently is what keeps me motivated to push through and get them done.
I woke up feeling drained and went back to sleep. I wish I could find SOMETHING that would motivate me.

Blessed reminded me to take morning meds... (stomach pill and B-12)
Getting back to work is a good way to handle stress and anxiety, blessed. My daunt, who always seems to be the calmest, most "together" person I know told me that is how she handles times when she gets worried. She has more reasons to worry or be depressed that most of the people in my family.
My dad was like that too -- he could NEVER be still. But he was a worrier, about some things. Other things, he never thought about... as far as stress, dmom and I said he didn't have it; he was a "carrier."

Oh -- and I also called the bank. I had received checks a few weeks ago that were skipping some numbers. Afraid they were lost in the mail, I called and told them to put a notice on my account. Well, the missing checks arrived yesterday. Glad that is solved. I still have an $82 check to the pest control people that has never been found. The post office is really falling down on the job.
AND as of last month, my bank still thinks I have $400 more than I can account for. That's a good problem to have.
Oh -- and I got a little raise in my retirement check -- maybe $20? Every little bit helps, you know.

I'm so glad your dd is enjoying writing, LadyM! She sounds like such a good student! Did you tell me she is in 9th grade this year? (That was what I taught for all of my 30 years.)
I must look up your 3x5 notebook.

WTG to your House Fairy, Twins! I'm impressed!
BTW -- did you see my conversation with Harriet re: the missing tombstone? Just thought you might have run into situations with your research. It's a mystery. I may just call those people whose names are listed re: opening graves. I could truthfully tell them that I have a friend of the deceased who is puzzled, because the older man I've told y'all about, my friend's dad, would certainly be upset if he knew.

I am so glad your dgd is doing so well, Nancy! Sounds like she is making excellent progress.
So NOT GLAD to hear about the gate! Hope y'all get that cleared up soon. Putting your own lock on it is an excellent idea! ;)

"See it, do it" is a great plan, Rose! Around here, all too often I tend to "see it, put it off." I knew when I retired that I would not do well with no bells ringing to tell me what to do next. Now without even dh to help order my day, I'm really at a loss.

DS called to chat while he was in the car rider line. I was able to give him a heads up, re: supper tonight at church. Chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. We both plan to eat before we go. I can probably truthfully say I ate too much cookie dough and don't need to trust my stomach. I'll eat something afterwards.

Hope you have a productive afternoon at HRH's desk, Harriet!

Yes -- I hope Cathy's dh isn't having a bad week.

I wish I could say I pushed through and got my cards done, but y'all know me. I am going to keep at it though, till at least 4:30. This post has taken an hour because I kept stopping to swap cookie sheets, and to talk to DS, and to get clothes out of washer.
I have 30-45 minutes before I have to s2s for church. Maybe I can vacuum something in that time. See y'all later!

blessed (((HUGS))) I just hate this for you. You and your daughters are obviously spending more time with your dmom and it just makes ME very angry that your brother told you that you can not ask questions! I'm glad he's not acting angry ATM... but he sure is making me angry.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi!

Just spending far too much time reading books too far into the night and then sleeping so much later than usual. Then trying to catch up with my day looking after the house. Thanks to computer issues, I've been spending less time online. Lots of issues with trying to log in to numerous sites. I can't remember some passwords, so that is also causing time away from numerous sites. Now some sites want other ways of letting people in. (Fingerprints, eye scans, whatever.)

With summer winding down, I've been trying to put stuff away outside. Looking into the chest freezer and enjoying the fruits and veggies waiting for us. Strawberries, blackberries, green peas, 5 bags of green and yellow beans  tomatoes and 4 bags of red peppers that have been chopped or sliced. Lots of tomatoes currently in the fridge and on the window sills along with 5 massive peppers. I currently have 3 waiting to be prepped and frozen.

Dh's sugar is a lot lower since last Friday. His appetite is also receding, which is nice. Thanks to that diabetes med that starts with an "O".

We have been eating green/yellow beans every night for supper. Dh pulled out a couple of depleted plants this morning. I've also gotten a lot of raspberries, but I've been eating them and loving every bite.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Same with dh here, Lucylee! You made me laugh!

DH is asleep off and on downstairs. I walked the ddog in the rain (raincoat and hat, back into the garage where I could hang my things up and towel her off.)

hi all
took a nap - body is rested -
I have a note with the night nurse that if mom needs me in the middle of the night - that they can. call.

lol on being a carrier - way too funny!!!!
thank you for sharing

how great that you took your d dog for a walk in the rain! d twins

hi d cathy i am so happy to see you here
reading books is a fun thing to do - I do find I can easily read into the early morning. hope your computer issues work out
yay on your veggies/fruit for the freezer
yay on your dh's sugars being lower
love beans like that

hi d Nancy I can't imagine how drained your sweet dd and dgd. so much!
so proud of your dgd

hi d Lucy waving at you
it's harder to get motivated when all the kiddos leave - before it was so easy. lol I need something to move me.
your aunt sounds wonderful - ask her for some of her energy for me please
I love the " he was a "carrier" too funny
glad the bank was received those cashed checks
good problem to have -
interesting about tombstone - my husbands family was supposed to be in one area but all the flat stones were slowly covered and became buried far down under the grass after generations.
how nice to talk to your ds
I think you do great!

oh he finally said I could ask drs. questions today - he doesn't think that they will respond bc they have to get his ok but he will let me.. he wants her to have the antibiotics and the sleep study - but hospice would be a shut off. - he seems to be unaware of how hospitals/etc. work. he assumes he knows but he hasn't had any experience with it.

I am worried about him -his gf thing and his saying things that were inappropriate to young women and now the fast viciousness response when he gets upset. - I am worried about him. girls think he may be taking something for his energy. its so up and down and so hard.

yay d lady on your cards!!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Good evening, everybody!

Everyone’s been so busy today! Well, perhaps everyone but me. About the only thing I accomplished today (other than driving) was to read my book club book for this month. Love and Saffron by Kim Fay. I highly recommend it. It’s an epistolary novel — most of it consists of letters between two writers in the early sixties. What starts with a fan letter turns into a deep friendship.

I’m watching my Guards. They’re currently up 3-1 over Detroit, and I hope I haven’t jinxed them by writing that. The Guardians’ reliever just hit the first Detroit batter.

As for writing things down, I was just talking to my therapist yesterday about how I need to redo my cards now that I don’t have work anymore. There’s stuff that’s been going by the wayside (largely laundry) that should be moved up earlier in the day. And I need to acknowledge that I’m not really getting anything done after dinner. (Just watching the game and heading to bed — and writing to my long-distance friends!)(You, of course!)
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck

Have so much enjoyed hearing about cards, pocket notebooks, pre-printed methods, ALL kinds of "Write it Down" concepts and tips, ideas here today.

Somewhere in our files here, we have instructions for the little booklet out of 8.5 x 11 paper, for keeping the list handy.

That is the PocketMod, the 15- to 20-year-old folded-paper hack that eventually had become a fillable, printable software with various pages you could "drop" into your own configuration of 8 of your favorite printed pages. BookSaver, in 2018, was consistently using it. I've been in and out of using it over the years. I have a hard-copy original that I customized to my own tastes with their various lined pages, habit trackers and weekly calendar, making it a weekly pocket planner. I could just print a new one each week for the cost of one sheet of paper, and I would put a bright sticker on the front cover to distinguish it to find it quickly. It would work fine for me right now, although not up to date with any new hacks.

I did a little research and found a 2 year old youtube video that was being commented on regularly up to the first of this year, "The Forgotten Productivity Hack - PocketMod". Fellow with delightful accent teaches how to fold one and how to go to the site to customize. A lot of commenters disagreed that it had ever been "forgotten".

No one seemed to be having any problem, still just popping in to the address, pocketmod.com, and anonymously designing and printing a new PocketMod at that time. Now, though, I do notice that the site asks you to log in (free) in one way or another, email or Google, etc.

Ddolder called this evening. DgsC is having a great time volunteering at a historic/agricultural site nearby. Youngest has been able to enroll in a Minecraft class. That's a new one on me. He got on the phone to tell me he is not just taking the class, he is teaching.. ...maybe so, since I think he knows everything there is to know about it already. Thankfully, their AC is all fixed, but I am still disappointed in the company not taking more responsibility since I felt it was more clearly under warranty than they admit.

Moving forward at a slow pace with sewing project. Lots of thinking, tentatively cutting, lol.

Agreeing with Mystery that you all are the long-distance friends I enjoy pen-paling with. And with her yesterday (I think) saying she talks to us whether she posts or not. Yes, I pass all kinds of things past you guys. You usually agree with me. (smile) Especially when I am admitting that I could have been wrong about something.

LOL, Harriet.

That doesn't happen very often! I don't actually remember when I have doubted your information about anything! :D

Home from church -- we ended up only having about 15 minutes for our lesson. I helped the ladies clean up before we went to our class. We didn't have time to go over any of my internet questions.

Got home -- had the bank statement -- balanced/reconciled -- still $452 to the good. :? This is the strangest thing ever.
Jan, Feb, Mar -- $477.40 in my favor
April -- $477.43
May -- $452.43
June -- $455.43
July, Aug -- $452.43
Sep -- $452.68
I'm not even trying to find the odd cents anymore. Whenever I have to have this money, (maybe in a couple years when I try to get a new vehicle) I will give myself whatever the difference is then and try to start fresh. As long as it is within this consistently $25 range... I don't know what to think. I did call the bank once and they couldn't find a deposit I had missing either, and I checked my math several times. I also check my math every day with a calculator. SMH.

I have to hang clothes to dry, maybe finish vacuuming, and then try to sleep, because I have that retina specialist appt tomorrow.
Turns out DS can't go -- kids get out of school early for homecoming parade. Dmom has driven herself to eye doctor appts before and said with the heavy disposable sunshades they gave her, she was fine to drive home. If I feel the sun is hurting my eyes, I will just take a nap till my eyes adjust.
Parade will be tomorrow night and I will probably go to that with DS/family. I think dgs will be riding in it with the football team.
Tomorrow is another day.
