I went back to 2011 and thought I would grab a fab focus from our past. thank you d harriet!
last Friday of September

"Strap on your favorite fruit headdress (and maybe a colorful apron ;) ), start up some music, and hop in the traditional conga line. Even though some of your day may be payroll, errands or desk day duties, join your village friends for some additional sweeping, swaying, swishing through your house. Cleaning and clearing a lovely path as we go, all together now… …

a new day! it's the last Friday of the month!
brrr months ahead October, November and December.

I am thinking of a cowboy hat I have with little conga fruit, or maybe fall leaves, for my attire today.

I used to use aprons and I think I may just do that today.

so that is OMM~ I am Coughing a bit today dreamed talking about chicken soup!
also OMM thinking I can put the one desk in my bedroom till I've decided where it goes.

BUJO & one journal page nearly completed.
Humming the home ward bound song now.
Up at 5:30 today. 51* 73* calm outside

Proofers for a bit./
Swept kit. dining room. & hallway
-----
Walked
Thought of a diff. solution on the desk situation ...
I have some 4" x 4" cut offs I can elevate the other desk with So I'll be
testing that out to see if it works. The other desk can be for the basement
unless Dgd needs wants it.

Just now getting here. I've been out to get flu and COVID vaccinations already at CVS, also downloaded and updated RootsMagic (genealogy software), did an Instacart order, and answered several emails.

I think A and V will be here tonight to help us eat up some brisket. Dh has gone to Costco and will get their bagged salad to go with it. I'll probably make a challah in the breadmaker. For groceries, I added the ingredients for the kugel for next week.

I need my breakfast/brunch.

Happy Conga, everyone.

Okay, I admit I got a little sidetracked on aprons, seeing our start - I do love 'em!

Kudos, Twins', for getting the vaccinations done.

We're having an odd morning because of having to receive and then continue to wait for call-backs for appts. Sigh.

But also, because HRH had a lot of pain in his hip through the night and awakened in pain this a.m. He is in a most difficult mood.

I got a video recommendation from one of my nutrition professors (not personally) about how healthy green tea is for us. Hard to believe HRH could argue about that, but he can when he feels this badly. good gravy.

But anyway, green tea is good for ya! (Maybe not the Japanese because of that pesky nuclear disaster.)

And ring, ring, ring. after 3 call-backs I think our mid-October medical schedule is set. The 17th has to have two appts in two different cities. Ugh.

we had a wonderful morning with the nurse etc. mom is sound asleep - she received her infusion - thank goodness my brother hasn't been here. HIs presence causes so much anxiety and pain and we can't have it any more in the house.

mom is sleeping - caretaker and us had a talk and it was good.

just letting her rest.

I just ate - breakfast /lunch

Howdy….

Harriet.., I can’t drink green tea, it hurts my stomach.

Been to coffee and conversation where I had to help set up the coffee and later after the meeting, clean everything up and clean the kitchen too.

Came home and I’m waiting for sweetie to finish up his work outside and then we will be going to Home Depot. we need lightbulbs for the kitchen and he has written everything down and will give it to me when we get to Home Depot so I can find them.

Need to make a short grocery run later so we’ll see how that goes. I only need a few things to get us through the weekend

Waving to you all be back later.

This morning, I had several medical tests done. I was only expecting two, but when I arrived, I found out additional tests had been ordered. The first was lab work at DLO, a highly professional lab that makes bloodwork as easy as possible. (I no longer let nurses draw my blood because the last few times it took 4-5 sticks, but labs get it done in one stick.) After that, I went to the doctor’s office for a bone scan and discovered my family doctor had also ordered three more tests: a pulse max test for my cardiovascular system, a cheek swab to see how my body reacts to medications, and a five-part brain test. I was hesitant about the brain test since I was fasting for the bloodwork and hadn’t had my coffee, but I decided to go ahead and get all the tests done.

I was thrilled to discover that my brain test score increased by over 30 points compared to last year. Last year, my score was average for my age group, but this year it made a significant leap. I'm curious...

A few days ago, I decided to remove gluten from my diet to see what would happen. Some symptoms of gluten sensitivity include brain fog and joint inflammation and pain. After just a couple of days without gluten, it was clear when the joint pain subsided. Now, I even have test results showing improved mental capabilities. Interestingly, I had no idea I would be taking this brain test today—it was purely a coincidence that it aligned with my self-imposed gluten-free experiment.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.
