Busy day…

Got up and got dressed before coffee. Slept in till 8.

Went outside and planted 8 plants under my tree. Took an hour then came in and took a shower.

Made lunch and iced my knee for a while. We had a bunch of ceiling lights out in the kitchen so I helped Sweetie do it. I have huge glass drop lights that look like wine glasses that hang over my island and I hate them. However since I had the ladder out I took an hour to clean them. They are a pain in the horses Patoot to clean!

I, not Einstein, Vacuumed the main areas of my home and did some major reorganizing of some furniture that has been bugging me for a while. spent some time organizing things in my garage so that I could get out of my car easier. Then came inside and I am now drinking some water and icing my knee.

There’s a Tennessee football game on in a little while and it’s pizza night here. I buy pizza from the grocery store. That’s really good and we enjoy it, or I should say sweetie enjoys it. I usually eat something else.

Coco is coming later this evening and I will have her for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Her parents are going to China, Taiwan, and Japan for two months. My friend‘s wife is Chinese and so they’re going to Beijing to visit family and then because she’s never seen a lot of China he’s going to take her to all the amazing things that one does when they are a tourist in China like the wall. He spent a long time in China after he was in the service and is fluid is Chinese I think Mandarin

Anyway they’re going to be gone and I will have Coco while they’re on their visit. I’m really looking forward to that so I’m gonna go get myself something to eat and get ready to watch the football game.

Twins… It sounds like you are really people out and can’t say that I don’t blame you for wanting to stay home and not see anybody. As much as I like company I think I’d be right there with you.

Waving to you all hope you have a great day!

I had a nap, might be running a low grade fever. I had COVID and flu vaccines yesterday. Glad I got to stay home. Quiet house and I'm loving it.

On Thursday night we had a cottage roll. Last night I made Korean Lo Mein using 4 packages of noodles. Tonight we are having cabbage rolls and pierogies.

Today dh gave me a bag of Hallowe'en Kisses (molasses flavoured, soft toffee-ish kind of thing) My favourite candy. Then, to add to the delightful treat, he picked me some lovely roses from our back yard. A couple of them just opened and the rest are coming shortly. I tend to forget just how awesome roses that aren't from a greenhouse smell. Plus he cut the grass.

Coco is coming back to visit in the SHE village! I'm looking forward to hearing about her doings.

I am enjoying a less intense day. I am using my time to do endless searches...
Is Laughing Cow cheese gluten free?
Is Oscar Mayer shaved turkey breast gluten free?
is premier protein gluten free?
Is grated parmesan cheese gluten free?
Do Frito chips have gluten?
I suppose my curiosity-driven theme is pretty clear....... :0

I can't remember the last time I wanted to eat a slice of bread. I'm not interest in bread enough to find a gluten free version. That might change once the summer tomato harvest is over. Earlier today, I made a tomato and turkey sandwich. The tomato slices completely covered the plate, so I layered shaved turkey slices and cheese between them, and it felt like I was eating a sandwich. There was no bread, so I had to eat it with a fork, but it was tasty, incredibly satisfying, and hit the soooo soooo goood spot.

Tomorrow is going to be a super busy day so I am welcoming the opportunity to have a slower day. I had time to spend curling my hair with old fashion curlers (no heat) and played with different hair styles.

Worked in the master bathroom today - put the rubber tub mat through a scrubbing by me, and then the washing machine. While it was going, I cleaned the tub. Then laundered the other terrycloth mat.

Started a new little crop of broccoli sprouts today.

Hello, Coco!

Kept up forward momentum on my sewing project. Each assembly of the finished parts is taking a couple hours and I'm happy with that speed. Also, each takes just a little less time than the last. I figure they only need about 6 more hours, and I can hide these away for gifts.

Chatted with ddolder and heard all the boys' doings. They all went to a concert last evening at an outdoor venue. I can't remember the name of the singer, but someone currently popular. Dd says she didn't get to sleep until midnight. Tonight is dgsC's Homecoming Dance, so she was doing laundry in preparation of more work and driving.

Anyone heard of an "Ollie's" store? We've been hearing these are something of a destination. We'd have to drive several towns over to our closest - 4, I guess. But it might be fun. I get the impression it's like a large outlet store, and you never know what might be there. Crafting supplies were mentioned.

Just a quick check-in. I’ll be in and gone before lucylee worries that I’ve taken her late-night spot. ;)

Did a long-procrastinated clean of the bathroom. Used bleach and ammonia, but not together, of course.

Did livestream at church. I felt so bad. The woman who’s in charge of it was at Mass, and she didn’t have anything to do — she could just be there… and then DH had a problem with the sound and had to ask her for help.

Came home, and DC’s girlfriend was over, which put a crimp in my dinner plans — I’d been thinking we’d have chicken, but L. is vegetarian. We were missing at least one ingredient of every meatless recipe I had planned, so DH and I ran to Aldi for a few things. Ended up with spaghetti with marinara sauce, garlic bread, and meatballs for those who wanted them.

Spent the evening watching the ballgame. We’re guaranteed to at least be a wild card, since we won the game — the other pitcher loaded the bases with an intentional walk and hit the next batter to score us the winning run. It’s OK; we’ll take it! So, if we win tomorrow, we’ll win our division, after being 11 games back earlier this month.

Have been puttering around for the last hour instead of going to bed. I should stop that. Sweet dreams, everyone!
