We're ending September very soon, and with it goes the first nine months of the year. What are your plans for the remainder of the year? Holiday planning? (There's a thread here just for that!) Trips during the rest of the year or early next year? Tasks to do before the new year? Take a long look into the future!
Monthly tasks? Do you have monthly cards or a list? This is a good time to complete September tasks and consider revisions going forward. And many of us have been adding fall home accessories - are there Halloween decorations that should come out soon? Make a card to purchase Halloween candy if needed, and hide it where you can find it on 31 October.
And it's the start of a new week!

My plans...Keep practicing hand writing.
Found a verse for today for that.
Set up Oct. pages in planner x
To get the desk situation in hand.
Found a new home for the bed in the sewing zone.
Got the bed cleared off.
I will be getting the bedding off of it.
I can lean it up against the wall and that will give me room in there.
Move desk in dining room to the sewing zone for a work station writing etc.
We've had rain here over nite yea!
Got the brownies containerized I may freeze them.
Kitchen needs attn.
I used one of the file boxes for seeds yesterday luv that idea!
I put an update in the J & C thread after DD called last nite.

Re: Last Monday of September PWYC
I have no plans, check lists or monthly tasks to do. I don’t need Halloween candy because we don’t get kids to our door.
My life is very scaled down and I am fine with that. I do what I want or need to do and there is less stress and freedom in that.
I was thinking about my life in the past with weekly house cleaning.. always done on Thursday, having to mow lawns, some were three acres big. When my son was a baby I mowed while he slept. My day started at 5:30 and didn’t end till after dinner. My then husband provided well but never did anything around our home.
So I am really enjoying my retirement life. I thought I would be able to travel, but life won’t let me now.
However I am at peace with my life now where ever it takes me. And to me that is a gift.

Re: Last Monday of September PWYC
today I am hoping for Monday work- time with dogs- shower - exercise (I have put this off almost all summer)
I put a list for what I want for next years garden - lots of saving needs to be done.
I need to go through my cc to see what unnecessary subscriptions are still bogging me down.
Monday:
whites and laundry
wipe hand prints in kitchen and laundry room
laundry room weekly
monthly: wash walls over stove in kitchen - it hasn't been down since January of 2025 gross
ask dd younger to go through the top shelf of her dog stuff - time to let go
me open up medical boxes and put away in garage - dh put it aside - dh is getting frustrated by the "stuff" can't blame him.
water pots
bird food take out of car and put in containers
laundry on dining room table - put away everything so far put some away
dogs
fill dog pools and bird baths.
chop down some plants
put away outside before it gets too hot.
dailies and room to room put away
I wanted to watch the Green Bay packer game but missed it. I will see if I can find it. found a synopsis for them and for the bears - I really miss being able to watch the badgers - dd older went to that university in Madison - she loved it.

Re: Last Monday of September PWYC
I have had bfast.
stripped the spare bed off & bagged up the bedding.
Getting that bed to leave soon later in the week.
Then I can move the desk out of the dining room.
Musical furniture continues here.
-----
Next up turn mattress on side x
" box springs " x
frame is on it's side now too.
? Move bed frame & mattress & springs maybe out to shed. ?
-----
Then put desk in dining room to blue creativity room. x
Resting now.
Small white desk is out in the middle of the area not sure it will work yet.
This is the messy part two rooms are a mess at the moment.
Plus the dining room table & kitchen the worse before it's better part.
---
Thinking I have a dresser that is longer and could go where the bed was ... not enough room the the writing space
there however...

Re: Last Monday of September PWYC
Good plan, Lucylee! It does sound as though you have something going around. If you go to the football game later, at least you'll be outside where germs can disperse more readily.
bw2, let hospice do their job assessing your dmom tomorrow and try to keep your brother from controlling the interview. I believe they also review medical records and such and those speak for themselves. Busy day ahead for you today.
Musical furniture, Nancy! Nice to be able to move things around. We have so much that dh is "attached" to that he won't turn let go. I envy you being able to rearrange to your heart's content!
RR, life sounds simple, although I know it isn't necessarily so with Sweetie. I'm glad you able to enjoy retirement nonetheless. I know being able to go to the beach is wonderful.
I had a phone call this a.m. with dfriend from Alabama. They are visiting us the end of Oct and she was making a probably small change in their arrival and departure. We had a good talk. This lady can talk my ear off tho. Her health is up and down so told her no plans, we will do what we and she feel up to doing.
I'm working out at two, I feel like I've squandered the morning. I came upstairs to my desk to talk on the phone earlier then went back down for breakfast. I'll need to be leaving in about an hour. I have a ribbon share coming today - a sample of several yards of each of the Stampin up ribbons in the newest catalog. I'll have fun things to play with soon.

Re: Last Monday of September PWYC
Hello! (A little late to say “Good morning” here — by the time I finish this, it will be after noon.) (And it’s taken me an hour to finish this, though that includes lunch and other interruptions.)
Goodness, Twins, I am not ready for September to be over! I need to do a better job holding myself to account. I’ve also learned that while the ADD meds help me do the Next Thing, I need to have identified what the Next Thing is.
You’re a whirlwind, Nancy!
Your contentment makes me feel warm and fuzzy, Rose.
Continuing to wish you peace in your difficult situation, blessed.
Take care of yourself, lucylee! While many things in life are best shared with friends, the crud is not one of them. Remember rest and fluids!
I had a good day yesterday with my family — I slept in, having gone to church Saturday evening. After brunch, DD got us to play a game she had backed on Kickstarter. A fun little thing — you are each a different cryptid (I was the jackalope), and you are trying to manage the balance of hikers, hunters, and researchers near your hiding places, but the other cryptids are hiding, too, and they want their own balance. It will play better now that we understand the rules a bit better. We would have played a second time, except…
Next up was the ball game. The Rangers did not make it easy for the Guardians, and we went to extra innings, though by then, the Red Sox had beaten the Tigers, so we would win the division on the tiebreaker. But we did win, so we won the division outright, not just on a technicality. Next is the Wild Card round of the playoffs, in which we will play a three-game series against the Tigers for the third time in three weeks. (This is highly unusual.) The bad news is we won’t be able to watch on TV; the good news is we have a Hall of Fame radio announcer, and we would have turned off the volume and listened to him anyway. I’m sorry — I will be boring you with baseball until the Guardians end their run.
After the game, we had our weekly Sunday take-out Chinese and watched the Weird Al movie from a couple of years back. It was one we kept meaning to watch and just didn’t. After we went to the concert, DD was determined to get us to watch when we were all together. It was goofy and fun, as expected.
Today, I slept in a bit, but not so long that I didn’t get DC to school on time. DC’s girlfriend met her at the drop-off point as usual, and handed me a Mason jar of liquid. Apparently it is made of fermented pineapple? I don’t remember the name, but DC will be given instructions as to how we are to enjoy it. She has apparently decided that we need an introduction to Mexican cuisine.
I, as always, need to do some wash. DH is almost out of shirts, and I could use something presentable. Everything I have clean is either ratty or dressy.
