It's a new week! Five new days to accomplish wonderful things! Let's make the most of it by planning some work, some fun, some family time, some down time!

Let's go, straight into our new week!

Good morning

When I got back from dropping DD14 off at school, I mentioned to DH... only four more years of doing this! Then it hit me—it’s actually much less. In less than two years, DD14 will be able to drive herself to school. Wow! It’s definitely time to get serious about getting her some driving practice. That means having her spend hours behind the wheel, and I need to start teaching her that skill soon.

Homeschool is underway. I have a plan, but I still have some lessons to get on DS17 calendar for this week. The lessons are prepared, but I just need to get them assigned to a day.
The anticipation is starting to build.... It is the countdown to fall break next week!

Hi!

Not much to do here. Dh is still sleeping and I have been sitting at the kitchen table stitching. That window is facing east and it's another beautiful looking day out there.

Dh picked 4 small tomatoes and 2 teeny tiny strawberries yesterday. There doesn't seem to be any more beans. There are some peppers, but they are still green. Lots more raspberries as well. Birds got all of the grapes. Blackberries haven't gotten picked in over a week. Dh was eating them for a while.

All 3 cats are outside.

Up early to walk my puppy… it’s still very dark so I need to carry my flashlight.

Went to class but didn’t stay for our drumming. I have an other one at noon and I don’t want to over do my knee.

Came home and made breakfast for Sweetie and me and finish my morning routines.

LadyM….every night I put my hair in a pony tail on top of my head and secure it a satin like scruncie. Then I take the ponytail hair, wrap it around a small roller and secure it to my head. Sometimes I make two ponytails.. one towards the front and one at the top of my head in the back.

Sometimes I just spritz my hair very lightly before I start the procedure. In the morning I take my hair down and I have curls! The entire thing takes me about five minutes to do.

And if I’m going somewhere for the evening I make my ponytails and use hot rollers while I’m getting ready. I also use my curling iron, take the ponytail hair, curl it with the iron and then roll it on a roller and keep it like that till I’m ready to leave.

I the hot roller thing for years while I was working. Didn’t have soft scrunchies back the so I used extra thick yarn to tie up my hair in a ponytail. That way it wouldn’t leave a dent in my hair where I had put it up.

Btw my hair is shoulders length…

I'm up but a little bleary eyed this morning. I had set my alarm but the sound was very low and it was hard to break through my sleepiness. It's overcast here and I think we'll have rain, and with shorter days it's a dark morning. Dh did his 6 p.m. workout and is home again.

I only have my workout today at two, and dh is going to the temple this a.m. so I've asked him to get all the mail for the cemetery for me. If he forgets, I can still go after my workout. Our supper is chicken and roasted butternut squash and a green veggie.

I'm going to have my breakfast/brunch and then head upstairs for awhile. Thinking about some stamping today.

Random thoughts that clutter my brain....
** AA batteries arrived - 100 each. WHY do they shrink wrap the batteries in groups of 5? I put the battery storage box and the box of new batteries waiting to be UNshrinkwrapped in front of DH and asked if he would take care of this mini project. It will probably take him an hour or two to get the battery storage box organized and filled. I just hope it doesn't overwhelm him because there are so many types of batteries to be organized.
** The flag got left outside last night. This bothered DH because he was SURE that he brought it in. I checked the cameras and showed DH that the flag stayed out all night.
** Where is the water bill? It is the one bill that is not able to be automatic paid. It usually arrives before the 1st of the month and is delinquent on the 10th. Did it arrive and get stuck somewhere? DH checks the mailbox several times every day. I am hoping he didn't put it somewhere. I will give it one more day and then go to city hall. Hum....wait a minute...I remember seeing a digital copy of it in the postal service emails that tell us what is arriving each day. Maybe I can find a picture of the water bill that way.

We went out and sent the returns of the two tops I didn't order. Stopped by the healthy foods place and got buffet lunches full of dishes it would have taken hours to cook. I've had everything from beets to kale to squash, grapes and potatoes, there's no mess in the kitchen, and I'm a happy camper. I'm not even sure how to make tabouleh, but it sure does taste good. No food police asking why I chose to eat this dish with that dish - had a little bit of everything and appreciated all the cooks' work.

I am two days away from a dishwasher, unless more delays crop up.

Outside the grocery, we walked past planters with just one of the summer flowers left. The others must have died back and have been cleaned away. I believe they are the Happy Days variety of marigold in orange. I'm going to remember that - it looked so ideal for the season, yet just full of fat orange blooms. They were selling pumpkins nearby, so both caught the eye very well. Wish I'd seen the planters earlier in the year to know whether they are a newer addition or have been there since spring planting.

Pumpkins - ddolder's 3 younger sons (DangerBoy is at college) carved great looking pumpkins - a cat, a space guy or astronaut, and a traditional Jack O'Lantern. The Jack O'Lantern is just HUGE. lol They had a lot of fun.

Today I want to make sure the bathrooms are in order and extra clean for the "company" of the workmen Wednesday. This is a specifically indoor project that will take a lot of time: construction, electrical and plumbing. I don't want anyone thinking they have to go to the outdoors rather than be able to ask us for our facilities. And with at least 4, possibly 5 of us in the house at any one time, we need both bathrooms at the ready.
