Working Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

with a side of Anti-Procrastination work. There's always lots to do around a home...make today a work day, whatever type of work you choose. Could be errands, house work, genealogy "work," decluttering work. So many choices to keep us busy!

Be sure to include some of those tasks that you've been putting off too! How many of those can you conquer today?

Good morning

DD14 and I made some plans on our drive to school. We have 4 things to accomplish after picking her up from school.

Bathroom garbage removed. Hall way litter box cleaned.

I told dh I was going to a book store earlier. I need to go put on warmer clothes. When I took out the garbage and litter, it was cold and windy.

So far... .. lots of waiting. We've had two phone conversations with workers. The only things that have happened are that the dishwasher has been picked up (we thought it was already on the van) and shopping for parts/materials is happening.

Sigh.

The dealership sent someone to pick up the car. At least that was on time, but if we had known how the day was going to go, we might not have needed to ask for the pickup service.

I got up early this a.m. to put lemon juice down the kitchen sink because it dawned on me that they might encounter odors or something while they worked. I thought maybe I could make that a little more pleasant.

Oh, thank goodness. The main guy just pulled up at 11:15 when they were supposed to be here at 8. Oh well, this is the best we can expect. HRH is answering the door being nice.

Trying to focus enough to get here. With dh underfoot it's hard some days. He's heading out later for lunch, then to visit the older man who has been working at the temple on weekends. He's had two strokes and is not expected to be able to return and dh has worked with him a lot on Saturday mornings at Torah study. So dh is checking on him at his home - taking some cherry tomatoes from our plants and a card. So at least he will be out some again today.

Our supper is pork chops with apples and onion, and roasted butternut squash. Might add sautéed spinach because we're overstocked on it. The butternut squash is peeled, the rest of the one we started last week.

Ugh. This has been sitting. In fact, I went upstairs and realized I hadn't posted and started a new one, which is sitting there. I had to come downstairs urgently because ddog saw something in the back yard. Dfriend M and I suspect there are feral cats lurking around. I saw one in the back yard several days ago, and we've seen them on our porch on the doorbell camera overnight.

So I finally got the Instacart order finished while upstairs too.

I'm doubting my work on the DAR application. Poking about to see what else I can find to link my guy to the established patriot.

Oh, the best laid plans... ..

Having electrical frustration. I would have thought they would have made sure there was no problem with electrical before they started, so that we could have had an electrician in here during all this time we've waited. Sigh. And we just spent so much money on bringing the electrical up to code within the last year. But a dishwasher needs a dedicated line. Well, I bet there wouldn't be one in a 1958 house. would there? - and gee, I'm not the one getting paid to figure that out before installation. Double sigh. I'm calling in favors from electrician, who is going on a trip starting tomorrow. Ugh. He may come and cast his eye over it this afternoon. He is so fond of HRH, they are trying to out-nice each other. But he can't be two places at one time.

Could do more complaining about needing to access attic through closet again when there shouldn't have been a reason. But that's not going to help, is it?

Ds called with a need. HRH will take our green-eyed boy to school Friday while ddil is away on a nursing trip. It pleases HRH to get these calls and have a sudden responsibility with one of the grandchildren.
