Re: Twelfth Night, or What You Will Thursday @ TDD - C&C
Twelfth Night, or What You Will is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written around 1601–1602 as a Twelfth Night entertainment for the close of the Christmas season. The play centres on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola (disguised as a page named 'Cesario') falls in love with the Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia falls in love with her, thinking she is a man.
The play expanded on the musical interludes and riotous disorder expected of the occasion, with plot elements drawn from Barnabe Rich's short story "Of Apollonius and Silla", based on a story by Matteo Bandello. The first documented public performance was on 2 February 1602, at Candlemas, the formal end of Christmastide in the year's calendar. The play was not published until its inclusion in the 1623 First Folio.

Good morning ,Trissie, and thank you for a other Shakespearean start!
Just a quick CI as I need to leave early for church this morning ( will these roadworks never end? I wish the council would stop extending the road closures as they roadworks keep "overrunning" all. of. the. time. To my mind it just rewards laziness and incompetence , and gives no incentive to get on and get the job done. And brings misery to everyone trying to get around the city.)
Anyway, rant over - it's been a short night. Everything kicked off next door at Dnextdoorneighbour D's yesterday evening. Long story short, the "overflow" from their water storage tank in the loft has been overflowing literally for years - until recently just dripping when they went away and no one was using water. (I did tactfully mention it a few times, but they didn't do anything).
When I was in my garden in Tuesday I thought it had got worse, as the dripping onto their patio was almost constant, and by yesterday afternoon when they got home from work, apparently it had got a *lot* worse - bad enough to spur D and A to do something about it. A is an electrician, so fairly handy, and went up in the loft to see if he could fix the "thingie" that stops the water going into the tank when it's full, and D was outside by the water meter turning the water on and off (no idea why she wasn't turning it off inside under the sink!) and her son, B, was acting as go between telling her when to turn the water in and off.
Well, A's actions actually made everything even worse, so they needed up with a mini waterfall outing down the outside wall of their house.
. So now they have someome coming today to hopefully fix it, and in the meantime their water is turned off. So D was on our doorstep with a couple of empty bottles asking if I could fill them for her. I offered the use of our bathroom for showers etc (fortunately, thanks to this site, it was clean and respectable and not embarrassing!
) and by the time.I had everyone sorted out it was past my bedtime and too late to finish cleaning the kitchen, so I'll do that today when I get home from church. DH is back sometime this evening, so I'd like to have everything tidy for then.
On the plus side , as well as cleaning my sitting room I did give the staircase it's sorting cleaning, which, of course, took longer than planned (I'd forgotten just how long it takes to actually clean the walls and ceiling with my long handled brush when working on stairs, and the skirting is more intricate due to the stairs.
But it's done - just the pictures to rehang today.

Re: Twelfth Night, or What You Will Thursday @ TDD - C&C
It's so nice to see you pop in on a weekday, FFB! I do hope you get some "me time" tonight.
Including Little Bit in making breakfast sounds fun and educational, L Ann. I hope DD32 is able to get over the changes. Change can be hard.
Oh my goodness, your neighbor's water issues sound pretty serious, Kitty. But you are always a very generous helpful neighbor. I hope you get more sleep tonight, though.
I do know Twelfth Night, trissie! Have read it and seen it performed multiple times. I hope you're having a great day at work.
Well, I didn't get back here yesterday. I was working on payroll until 1:15, on site 11-1:15-ish, home again at 1:30. Had a quick lunch and then friend B was here at 2 to walk. She left at 3:45, and at that point, I was tired and done with the day.
My work is very social, as was my long walk and talk with B --> my introverted self was socially done. It would have been good for me to push on a bit more, but I also knew today was pretty open. I did accomplish some small tasks - got lists in my notebook, got 2 bills written and ready for the mail, brought the bins back, did dinner and after dinner tasks. Couldn't get duolingo to load on my phone, though.
S2 texted at 11 pm last night about getting together for 2.5 hours today to go canoeing and hiking at a lake that is 30 minutes away.
I love S2 -- but WHO has the time to do something like that for 3.5 hours (including driving time) so spontaneously? LOL! Apparently S2 - and K! (Haven't heard from J yet.) I can't - I have a lot of grading to do - and I have my 2 pm appointment with my trainer.
Today's Main Goals
1. Grade final drafts
2. Grade final exams
3. towels: fold and p/a
4. letters in the mail to the trustee
5. clean sheets on the bed
6. sheet laundry
7. 2 pm - work out with trainer
8. dinner: leftovers, roasted squash
Other tasks might be good - but these are the main bigger ones. Well, I also need to pay the car insurance, but that will take me 3 minutes as I'll do it online. . .
Next:
- pay car insurance
- some qt
- back exercises
Later:
- fold and pa towels
- strip MBR bed; start load of sheets (guest room sheets too)
- remake MBR bed
- sheets w d f pa
- payroll: grade final drafts
- payroll: grade final exams
- make appointment for a check up

Re: Twelfth Night, or What You Will Thursday @ TDD - C&C
It’s looking pretty busy in the group.
Thanks for the start, trissie. Hope you are having a wonderful day and get some me time this evening.
Kittykatt, what a mess that seems like it could have been prevented. Same sort of thing happens here though. I’ll point out something to dh that could use some attention beyond my means and he will ignore it until he can’t anymore. I went to replace batteries in the smoke detectors and one is completely missing. He had taken it down bc it was beeping and never replaced it. Who knows what happened to it.
Good to see you seeing the week, French. Our paths don’t cross much as dh is home Friday - Sunday keeping me occupied so I don’t get to post. I hope work isn’t too stressful.
LAnn, hope things get better for dd. A slower start sounds nice and enjoyable with little bit.
Helia, the spontaneous trip sounds fun but I do see how work obligations won’t allow for it.
Hi Peaches.
I woke up wanting eggs so may indulge in some scrambled after I get some basics done. I’m not sure if I want to shower first or get the dirtiest chores done first. Dumb I know as it doesn’t really matter so I’ll probably get moving first then I can shower and eat on a break.
Done:
Bible
Fed Lily
Petting Lily now while I cuops, she’s the half blind cat that stays mostly in the bedroom alone.
Do:
Pet chores
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥
