Bama, I test our smoke detector every week when I hoover the stairs, so it ensures no missing batteries!
Trissie, roadworks are a year round event, at least down here
I just wish this lot would go away. They've been nearly 3 years "working" in various parts of the city, and seems to create mayhem and delays wherever they go. A "6 months " project on our estate turned into me nearly 2 years. 
I can still remember the day when they finally packed up for the last time and we all waved them goodbye with great relief!Bama, your Lily sounds very much like my DDeparted Trifle, who was very much the "cat that walked by herself'!

Church went well, and I picked up Matilda's wet food. (Possibly some gold bars would have been cheaper, but so long as it keeps her well, that's the main thing. At least she seems to like it
) The kitchen is now clean, the laundry up to date and DH is back safely (almost certainly bringing more laundry with him!) Oh, and the water situation has been resolved next door. (D and A got a plumber to sort everything out).
