I think I have most my ribbon organized. I don't need what I have. I need to stop buying entire rolls! I purged a few for selling or giving away so everything nearly fits. I have room for one more wire basket and that will take care of them. Also made a card with some of the new patterned paper.

Lobster prep is beginning...

I got the dogs next door out for awhile. Neighbors are away and the neighborhood dog sitter is working an 8 hour shift today, I might let them out again later when it's cooler. Only 75 degrees but sun is hot!

I'm out of step with everything and just peddling as fast as I can.

This morning, I took DD14 shopping for walking shoes. She finally agreed to get some after complaints of her legs hurting while wearing her worn-out no support shoes. We also did some shopping to get her some organizational containers for jewlery supplies. Sooo many tiny beeds and supplies!
After that was accomplished, we got something to eat and then went for our flu shots. hopefully none of us will have a reaction to the vaccine but at least we have the fall break to get over it.

DS17 and I had a discussion about him participating in the mudding event this evening. This is a yearly event held in a nearby pasture and well attended by the locals. No advertising....you just have to be in the know about the event. They use backhoes to dig big pits....fill the pits up with water and then take turns to see how many can drive their vehicle through the waist deep mud. It is a fine way to destroy your vehicle. DS17 knows my thoughts about the wisdom of doing this.....but he is a full fledged teenager and the desire to do stupid things is strong.

DH has reached a point where he can't operate his tv remote. I never watch TV so using a remote is an unknown to me. However, I just used logic to drill down through the layers (roku to get to HDMI to get to firetv to get to local company that provide cable) until I found the Red River rivalry (OU/tx) game for dh to watch.
Nevermind. i was busy doing things and came back to find DH watching ncis instead of his favorite college team. He has watched every episode of ncis dozens of times so it doesn't take any attention span or brain power. It is a familiar way for DH to stare at the screen and zone out.

Three more forms filled out for DD14 autism evaluations. I don't have adobe acrobat software so I had to play around with the pdf forms to be able to provide answers on the MANY questions. ANYway, the forms are answered and have been uploaded to the doctor's website. I am hopeful this is the last of the bazillion forms. We have 3 appts the week after fall break about the results. One appt with holistic pediatrician that is doing the evaluation, one appt with DD14 trusted counselor and the 3rd appt with family doctor. I have a pit in my stomach about this whole process, but I made a commitment to DD14 to go through with it. I hope someday we will be able to look back and see this turned out to be good for her.

I got some things done today. First, I did sleep late because it's hard to sleep in the emergency rooms at the hospital. This tiny hospital has 3 areas for their E department. Triage puts you either in the main area close to the front, then there are 2 smaller rooms. I got put in room 2. They also have 2 spots out in a hallway. There was an older man sitting on one of the beds in the hall. They originally put him in the room I was in, but he went out to the hall.

After sleeping late, I went and got the meds. While I was out, I went to one bank to pay something and I popped in at the store where I go to stitch on Friday afternoons. As soon as I walked in the owner asked how I was. I told her about going to emerg. She had been thinking about me and she was happy to see me today.

I came home and had the morning med and the pain med for the "mild to moderate" pain and then I had a nap. Dh knew what we were having for supper, and when I woke up it was almost ready, plus he had set the table.

After supper I cleaned 2 of the 3 litter boxes. Dh took out the turkey this morning and he just mentioned that his mom always cooked their Thanksgiving "feast" on the Sunday. So it looks like tomorrow will be turkey thighs, stuffing, cranberry sauce, scalloped potatoes and corn. There are 4 slices of pie left. I also have some laundry to catch up on tomorrow. Dh did a load last night.

We also brought in a load of firewood. I might ask dh for a fire either tomorrow or Monday.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I'm S2Sed in the evening.

Which reminds me of "things asked but I never remembered to answer".

About evening showers - I'm in the camp of not liking them but I did do it this evening because it happened to work out. Actually, right now, without long hair, one of the reasons I don't like them doesn't matter so much (time needed for hair to dry). But I am particular. I like to shower when light is coming through the window, when I have the rest of the day to feel well groomed, when either it's a time of day (early) when I'm likely to be left alone or at least when HRH is aware I'm showering and could answer door or phone if needed. Winter with its colder temps in the morning can make me change my mind, brrrrr.

lucylee asked what I will do with scraps. They'll be ready to be part of the variety for a future scrap quilt, probably. I love having a lot of fabrics in a quilt. Doesn't have to be a classically "scrappy" pattern but could be. This particular fabric that surprised me with extra scraps really is pretty. One I could keep in mind for a smaller project, but I haven't thought of one yet. There were black scraps and orange scraps that got me to thinking about the season and wondering about smaller projects, too.

Twins', I'm happy for you that you are getting so organized. You are so intentional. My ribbons are all together in a clear storage box and my giant step of organization is a label on it that says "ribbons". So, I think you are way ahead. When I have bought, I've had a tendency to use just a little in small things and then keep the rest for ages without purpose. In fairness, some have come to me by surprise, wrapped around fabric.

I have the machine and bobbin rethreaded and thread sorted.

Cathy, I was so pleased to find that you felt well enough to go out today. Hope the pain meds give a lot of help.

LadyM, it does seem as though driving through lots of deep mud would be avoided for someone who likes their truck. Glad the shoe shopping went well. And maybe all the forms to fill out have reached an end.
