Cymbeline (/ˈsɪm.bə.liːn/ or SIM-buh-leen) is a play named after a king named Cymbeline, during the Roman Empire.

The story : King Cymbeline’s daughter Imogen secretly marries Posthumus, a commoner. The king is furious and banishes Posthumus to Italy.

While abroad, Posthumus meets Iachimo, who bets that he can seduce Imogen. Iachimo fails — but tricks Posthumus by lying and producing false “proof” (he sneaks into her bedroom and steals her bracelet). Posthumus, deceived, orders his servant to kill Imogen.

Imogen escapes disguised as a boy, gets mixed up in a war between Britain and Rome, and — after a tangle of disguises, poison, and mistaken deaths — everything is revealed and forgiven at the end.

History : Shakespeare’s Cymbeline is based on a king named Cunobelinus (or Cynobellinus), who actually did exist.
He ruled part of Britain around 10–40 CE, before the Roman conquest.
His capital was Camulodunum (modern-day Colchester).

◕‿◕ * * * Good Morning! * * * ◕‿◕

And Happy Thanksgiving Sunday to those living in Canada who celebrate today !

So I don't know where my Saturday went... It could have been productive, with sun in the afternoon, and one kid at a sleepover who left around 4.30... anyway I had a nap around 6pm. ANd homeworks are done. And I did a laundry. Oh, and a batch of pancakes for afternoon snacks. The rest of the day was "hijacked" by other people's needs  I suppose I should feel grateful that people in this family / household think I am helpful to them.

This morning I'm up early because I will volunteer from 8.30 to 10am at the town's vide-grenier (attic emptier) or feal market / car boot sale. People who sell their unwanted stuff pay a small amount of money, people who enter the hall (to visit and purchase) pay 1 €, and the money will go to the school's parents association to help pay for day outs and such at the school. I need to leave in 40 minutes. I will be at the entrance collecting the entrance fees.

TADAs
up early
tea
looked up Shakespearian plays starting with the sss sound ;)

TODO
get dressed, fed and otd by 8
volunteer from 8.30 to 10
probably buy some secondhand basic clothes, maybe books
then
back home, prep lunch (fish, and roasted veggies) and probably dinner too (cabbage soup)
do things around the house, and another lol
pick up DS9 around noon

Good morning, FFB, and thank you for starting us off. I hope the sale is successful, and you find some things for yourself. WTG for volunteering!

This morning we have church and then I'm seeing DF E for coffee. She's not feeling great as she had a fall this week (fortunately her granddaughter was there at the time) but when we spoke on the phone yesterday, she was insistent that she still wanted me to come and see her. So I'm taking that as a good sign.

This afternoon I'm hoping to prune some more of that climbing rose and mayne start tying in some of the branches. I would really like to get this done before the rain returns! And,.of course, there's lunch to cook (roast beef) and possibly some kitty nails to tackle (we'll see who hangs around the kitchen today! )

Happy Sunday!

Frenchie, will you be also buying something at the sale? :-)
Have a good one at church, kittykatt!

Finally enjoying a slow morning - lounging in bed till 9:15 and then a slow breakfast and checking the internet (not only news, but also fun stuff like Simon's cat videos :-)
My cold is evolving - hoping it's taking a turn for better, but we shall see. From my experience, if it's not getting better after 10 days, antibiotics are needed, though that usually happens later in the cold season. And now DH is sniffling, so it's definitely going round in this household. Oh the joys of fall and winter season!
No fruit to mass-process today, unless DH ventures out and harvest the sea buckthorns, then I'd have to juice them. But I still need to work in master bedroom, hopefully finishing the other side of the hidden storage, where my fabric stash is. I'd love to have shelves installed so that I could pull out the lower boxes easily, but that's not a project for today!

Can't remember when I last posted.
Mother is home. Hospice is coming everyday..
She's so happy about being home. All my siblings are here. Today is dsis3 birthday. Her daughter will arrive midday. Dson and his family were here all day yesterday. Mother is peaceful, very weak. We are all hoping she hangs on at least until tomorrow. I'm thinking so. That's the same date her brother died, 11 years ago.
We are all working together well.
I told both sisters to go to bed. They were up with mother 2 nights while I slept at home. I have stayed up all night, dozing a little bit, now and then.

Gma (( )) glad to read your DM is happy. Happy birthday to your DSis3. Thinking of you and your family.

trissie yes I walked the rows of tables at the sports hall after volunteering and I found a few clothes for DS9, and secondhand books.
I've been trying to understand a bit more about your political situation - you too have a President who chooses as PM the person most likely to represent the parliament's opinions, and you too have a Parliament that has no clear majority. I'm not sure about the political scandals that erupted recently...? I'll be following the news.

Kittykatt you made me smile yesterday, mentioning your cats' intimate issues with JWs at your door. I hope we are weather twins because the weather here is really lovely.

So DS7 wanted to "help" when I was back home and said I would start cooking lunch and dinner and maybe a cake. It's nice from him and it's well-invested time, as he will probably be more interested in 'helping' and cooking later. But it took him probably 15 minutes to peel 5 potatoes. And I had given him the best woodboard and the good potaot peeler, so I had to reduce my ambitions. Half the fennel I intended to roast for lunch is still waiting. And I had to watch things in the oven during lunch.
But at least we have some extra roasted vegetables for MrNG and me to eat for lunches, and there's a no-sugar cake ready to be sliced and frozen and for me to take to work, and dinner is in the pressure cooker.

TADAs
got dressed, fed and otd by 8
volunteered from 8.30 to 10
bought some secondhand basic clothes, maybe books
prepped lunch and dinner with DS7's help
MrNG drove DS9 back home from his sleepover and birthday party (morning party at the town's laser game)

TODO
do things around the house, and another lol
walk, relax, get some fresh air ? (maybe the three at the same time)
a few things from the intended weekly list
prepare next weekly list

I don't know that play, but the plot sounds very Shakespearean. :D I hope the volunteering this morning was fun for you, FFB. That's great that you let DS7 help, even if it's less efficient now.
Have a good morning at church and coffee with friend E, Kitty.
So glad you and all your siblings can be with your mom at her house at this time, Gma.
Yay for a slow morning for you, trissie!

Yesterday, I made good progress on my goals - got payroll tasks done but didn't quite finish updating the exam record. I can do that in 30 minutes today, probably. I got the card for CM written and ready for the mail. I did all our clothes laundry. Earlier I posted my jog and the WF trip. I made a simple dinner and made progress knitting in the evening. It was a good day for me!

Today, it looks gray and foggy outside and is currently 49F -- but the forecast says sunny and a high of 70F. We shall see what transpires. This is another scheduled Sunday - church, out 9:45 - 12-ish. CG2 - out 3:15 - 6-ish. Then, hosting Sunday dinner for up to 7 people, 6 - 9-ish. Besides this morning time, that gives me 3 hours in my day that is not social/ scheduled. There is a slight chance that CG2 won't happen; L's schedule at the hospital is not clear right now, and if she can't make it, she'll let us know. B, her dh, is in surgery all day so he can't make it. He's an anesthesiologist.

Tracking friend S2 now as she runs the Chicago Marathon at age 49. She's hoping to make 3:15; her best marathon time was around 3:00, but she's older now and has had some health issues (thyroid). BUT she is a lean mean running machine!! She finished the 5K mark in 21:49.

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- make bed

Later:
- reclaim kitchen
- 9:45 otd to church
- 12/ 12:15 hom - lunch
- payroll: finish updating the exam record

- WF - do we need a rotisserie chicken?
- 3:15 head to CG2?
- 6 - host Sunday dinner (will have to leave CG2 early to get dinner together. M is not here to do it as she usually does.)

- duolingo
- update health apps
- read
- knitting progress

TaDas!
