Margaretha Geertruida MacLeod (née Zelle; 7 August 1876 – 15 October 1917), better known by the stage name Mata Hari (Indonesian for 'sun', lit. 'eye of the day'), was a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was convicted of being a spy for Germany during World War I. She was executed by firing squad in France.

The idea of a beautiful exotic dancer using her powers of seduction as a spy made her name synonymous with the femme fatale. Mata Hari's story has inspired books, films, and other works. It has been said that she was convicted and condemned because the French Army needed a scapegoat, and that the files used to secure her conviction contained falsifications. Some have even stated that she could not have been a spy and was innocent

Happy Monday!

It's SPY WEEK! :-) Hope you'll enjoy learning about spies from all over the world, as their letters may come up! :-)

I am working from home today. I was so productive on Friday without the constant office interruptions, plus I still look like an idiot with my red nose, runny eyes and a cold sore right in the middle of my lower lip. So, home office it is!

helia, DH and his crew, they are long-distance drivers - they routinely drive from Prague to Sweden (1,100 miles) and work upon arrival. I guess when you design driving/traffic AIs and physics, you like to see it "in real life" too? :-)

Good morning Trissie and thank you for starting us off. I can see we're going to have another fascinating week ahead! :D

Today I really want to work on pruning my climbing rose some more, and if possible, start tying in the branches I want to keep. We've been very fortunate with this current spell of dry weather, but it's not going to last for ever! And it's much easier to tackle this monster when everything is dry..( I will still be left with 3 roses to prune but they're all relatively small bush / shrub roses, so much easier. And they're still flowering well, so the pressure is off there a bit!). Other than that, I have a precious free day with DH at the office, so a chance to tackle the house!

☀️😎Good morning!
Ooh spy week will be so much fun. I enjoy watching and reading about them, probably because I myself am such a big chicken. :P

Trissie, thanks for the start and clever topics always. What an interesting job your dh has, although I get carsick so I can’t imagine driving across the US or any country without getting a little

Kittykatt, enjoy your solitude while you can. Hope you can tame the wild rose and make your home more homey. My flowerbed has been overrun with briars so I need to tackle that at some point. Dreading it, putting it off…

Helia, hope your appointment goes well. Congrats to your friend on the marathon, that’s quite a huge achievement to be celebrated. Hope her recovery is easy.

We got a lot done Saturday so did as little as possible on Sunday. I did spend about :30 on my planner, haven’t touched it in months, so I’d like to devote more time to it today and achieving all that is logged in it to do around the house. I’ve lapsed in my daily habits so hope to revive those today too. An early start will hopefully make some headway in doing all the things.

Done:
Bible
Let dogs out and enjoy the beautiful weather
Spot clean floors and ottoman

Do:
Weigh
Feed inside pets
Breakfast - decide what I want first
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Bama, marry a programmer, they said, he'll home all the time, they said! They didn't mention the weeks' long roadtrip on company money he'd be making, though :-) The only positive thing about current US situation is that all talks of US trips are off the table, the 4 week April/May was the last one for foreseeable future. I can handle the Europe ones, those tend to be a week tops, but the US ones, they are 3-5 weeks long. And them road-tripping is actually part of what they are paid for, getting the visuals and audios and general feel of different locations.
Well, at least you got your appointment early, helia! Hoping it was a good one!
I like your dinner plan, L.Ann! But I have ground beef in the fridge, so it's gonna be meatloaf here :-)

Done with work. I actually made really good progress - this guideline I am drafting is very complex and some parts have been fighting me, but it seems things are finally falling in place and structure. I have a bit less than 60 before I need to be off the door to take DBD for her speech therapy apt, so I gotta use my last quiet and non-kid time wisely! :-)

Good morning, LAnn.

Trissie, it’s nice to have your partner closer to home when raising children, a little break is nice too but not for too long or too far away. I’m glad he will be closer to home for a little while. There is good in everything, even shutdowns, I suppose.

Watching the hostages come home gave me goosebumps. Praying for a better future.

Done:
Bible
Let dogs out and enjoy the beautiful weather
Spot clean floors and ottoman
Weigh
Feed inside pets
Breakfast eaten, logged
Laundry - whites/tennis shoes washing
Wipe surfaces
Take out trash

Do:
Pet chores
