Morning All! We have a fee day today, Trissie. ((FFB)) we are going to ICE this year, kittykatt which has huge ice sculptures and this year a Polar Express theme. Two years ago we did a Polar Express train ride and it was lovely.

This women spy week has been very intriguing! I'm learning lots too!

I don't remember the Bond movies very well, trissie, but I do agree that there was always a lot of sexism in them. Yes. For action and maybe some mystery they're great. Hmmm..... What about the Mission Impossible movies? Tom Cruise - but again, I can't remember specifics on sexism or not. One has a crazy scene on a skyscraper in Dubai - I remember that. LOL!
I'm sorry about the potential job for Mr. NG, FFB. It sounds like he's still in that training program, so hopefully something that's a great fit will turn up for him eventually. But I can see how the in between time now is hard. ((HUGS)) BTW, I have a student from France in my class this session. She seems a little quiet and shy, though she engages well with other students during partner or small group work.
Kitty, the Polar Express is a delightful idea! My dbro took dniece on a similar Polar Express ride in St. Louis last year. They both loved it! I think each kid got a bell at the end.

I'm up super late. I lay in bed working on puzzles, my own personal addiction. I need to get going; I'm not sure when dh wants to leave for Detroit. He needs to pick up his race packet today, but I think the expo center is open into the evening. Check in at our hotel is after 3 pm. It's about a 45 minute drive from our home, so we're not talking about a long car trip.

Before we head out, I'd like to:
- get in a longer jog -- missed the public 5K, which is OK with me since it's on a hilly route
- do some laundry
- do my morning routine
- pack
- write and print out thank you notes to stick in cards.

FrenchFly, I think that you'll want to watch LOTR on your own first, to determine if they are suitable for your children. I was bored by the LOTR books, but couldn't take my eyes off the screen when I watched the first movie on my laptop. I'm not big on fight scenes, but theirs were riveting. Might be a lot for young children though.
The job market in Canada is really poor right now. I'm glad that your DH is at least getting interviews. It gives you hope.

trissie's dkids have already watched LOTR? Maybe it's not as traumatizing to kids as I imagine it would be.

I was up early, and decided to watch a few episodes of The Littlest Hobo, a hokey children's show from the 1970s about a dog that shows up to help people and then leaves at the end of the episode. It's part nostalgia and part comic relief as their production values were not very high.

kittykatt, have a good time in the garden ! I do the same here, I hang the clothes just when the laundry beeps, they are less wrinkled this way.

trissie, we will be near the Garnier Opera (there are two Operas in Paris, Garnier and Bastille : Opéra Garnier is the old one, with the Phantom in it). My parents celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with an escape game and restaurant, so we will do a train trip on Friday and back on Saturday.

Re the job, thanks, but no, it seems they specifically said they would have an answer as soon as Friday, so MrNG is certain it's over for him.

helian, have a nice trip, and if I don't post till then, cheers for your DH ! Oh and I have an addiction to online puzzles, I'm on jigidi several times a week. I wish I had time and budget for some Magic Puzzle Company boxes. I've bookmarked it, maybe I'll put them on my list for Santa.

Doggedly I've watched the LOTR movies myself, at least three times each, and I see why you say that. However we have watched the three Bilbo movies already, and the kids seem to have "digested" them well - no nightmares or such - in spite of some gruesome things. The job market here isn't doing well either, especially in MrNG's current professional field (hence the training he decided to start).

We're home, it's still sunny (before 2 weeks of rain) DS9 went to play with DNeighbouring kid R-- and maybe some others, DS7 went with DNEighbouring kid A--. We are supposed to do a shopping trip for clothes (coats and a few pairs of trousers) for the kids, I'm not sure it will be easy to call them back home to do that. It's 4pm already.

I will definitely be doing puzzles, Doggedly. LOL! I will have my jigsaw sudoku book and my websites. I'll also bring my knitting!
I better not check out that website FFB. I might never come back to reality! I do MS casual games daily solitaire games when they have games I like at the right levels. There are 3 I'll do but only if they're at hard or expert levels. Sometimes, I'll do another game/ puzzle. And I have my favorite jigsaw puzzle website. And then there are the NYTimes games/ puzzles!

OK - I need to get going. Dh wants to leave at 3 pm at the latest. That's just 4.5 hours from now. Exercise is first. Well, maybe starting a lol is first.

No surgery date yet, Trissie. The surgeon gave me a number to call if I haven’t heard by Wednesday from the surgery coordinator. She says she has a 6 week window from visit to surgery that she wants to stay within and she thought November. Have fun at the race helian. FFB, The librarian said if you keep the slime inside the pumpkin for awhile you need to continually thicken it since it gets watery from the inside of the pumpkin. Your tv show reminds me of watching Lassie as a kid, Dogged.

I need to decide what room to clean next. Typically I would do the bathroom but I think I want to wait to do that until right before my sister comes down to help after my surgery. I think maybe the kitchen since that is always a bit more involved.
