I have trouble turning loose

Same here, although most of the items I am throwing away would probably sell for around $1 each at a garage sale. Letting go of them without waiting for a sale feels like a gift I'm giving myself.
I have a stash of "maybe" items I can't quite bring myself to throw away. Usually, I leave them by the road with a free sign or donate them to my favorite thrift store. I just don't have the mental bandwidth to list them for sale and go through that process. I have no idea where DS17 got his knack for selling online—he's constantly listing things. I asked if he wanted to sell these items and keep the money, but they don't interest him (unless they have four wheels). He asked if it would bother me if he didn’t list them, and I told him not to worry about it. Honestly, it’s easier and quicker just to give them away.

I met up with DD14 and gave her money for drinks and food. She is enjoying her time with friends at the festival. Hum.....I forget what life was like before Life360. It gives me comfort to be able to monitor where she is located.

Well, I meant to get here a lot sooner, but DGS and I were in a discussion about whether or not South Bend, Indiana is in EST or CST. He took my phone to look it up, and I was mid-way into a post, which he lost, I guess. Sigh.
At the time, I was watching my ballgame and Rose's ballgame, and it looked like both of us had a chance to win... but once again, AU snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and we lost in double overtime. At least y'all didn't drag it out, Rose. Sigh. Plus, dsisil told me I had sold my tickets to MO fans so I'm sure that got on dbil's nerves too. LOL. (I texted her during the game to see if our long-time seat mates were there. Their mother, who is probably in her 80s, was not there, and I hope she is doing okay. We've sat with these people since dh and I first married, and I believe they had been there before I came into the family. Their dad died a few years ago and she kept coming to the SEC games, but I know she will probably not continue for much longer.)
Anyway, now I'm about to get in the shower and I have Stanford and Florida State on the tv. I want FS to win, but as you might imagine, they are losing also. (I'm an FSU fan because of Gus Malzahn, their offensive coordinator, who is probably my favorite AU coach of all time, or at least in my top two.) I bet TwinsDad has this one on the tv too.

Kitty, I saw where you were commenting about property taxes on my post yesterday. Boy, I wish they would base ours on "last sale" value. LOL -- I know dfil bought this land probably in the mid 1950s. Of course, I can certainly see that this is a very unfair way of doing things. I'm just so glad we do have that "homestead" exemption that made such a huge difference in my total. I know we have relatively low property taxes in my state -- everyone says we do. However, we do have a state income tax, and this is why my dbro refuses to move back home from Florida -- at least, that is his excuse. OTOH, I would not be surprised if his total tax bill would be less here, considering how high his property taxes must be. We also have a tax on groceries, which I have heard is not common in all states.

Decluttering... I just cannot imagine that I turned loose of my poetry from earlier years. But I also cannot imagine what became of it. I may have to do like you, LadyM, and take EVERYTHING out of each room to deep clean, before I can find it. But I really doubt it would appear then -- I just can't imagine that I put it anywhere else. It has been in a box in the bottom of my closet ever since we moved into this house. Now box and all is just GONE.
And I do need to declutter and find places for all this stuff on the ironing board. SMH. I don't know how this happened. Six months ago, the ironing board was folded up behind the closet door.

OH! I have a question Do any of you have the Otterbox Commuter phone case and if so, are you happy with it? Yesterday, I returned a non-otterbox lookalike and today I received the real thing. However, I thought I was getting one just like my old one, which was the Defender model. The difference is, the Commuter does not have a tempered glass screen saver... so now I am waiting for that to arrive. The defender has a hard shell that fits over a rubbery shell, but nothing on the front of the phone itself. It does say it provides "drop" protection. DS and DDIL have used the separate glass covers and are pleased with them, but I just don't know. But I hate to return a second phone case in two days, LOL, so I'm willing to give it a try.

Also... I ordered some of those car inserts that are supposed to fill in the gap between the seat and the console -- I am constantly dropping things into this no-man's land. Well, they arrived today, and they just don't fit like they look like they will. I emailed their customer support and they have replied -- they want me to send photos, showing them the problem! They will try to HELP me get them to fit properly. This just aggravates me to death! They were only about $25 s/h and tax included, but I wish I had not bought them. DGS said, "What did you expect buying cheap stuff from China?"

It has been a frustrating day.

Good to hear LadyM's DD is having a good evening at the festival. We have one next week, and I will have to help with a water bottle station with church and walk DGD around to trick or treat. DDIL works next weekend and DS will be traveling.
DS and family have Life360 also. I can see how that is a wonderful thing when you have teenagers. If I ever get up the courage to drive out of town on my own, I'll let ddil add me to the group -- she already has her parents and brother in their group. It's good for her to know where DS is when he's on the road, but dh never wanted to let her monitor us that closely, LOL!

Nancy and Twins talking about insurance. I will be getting Medicare info before long, I imagine. I dread having to change over and do all that stuff, although dsisil is very happy with her Medicare. She has BCBS C+ for her secondary insurance however, and I will be stuck with whatever teacher insurance offers. I guess I could go out on my own, but I bet that would be even more expensive. Right now, I think teachers on Medicare have Humana as their secondary.

I'm going to wave goodnight to all and get in the shower. Busy day tomorrow -- I may have nursery duty (depending on how many kids show up) and then I'll have dgrands tomorrow afternoon. Must make preparations for ds' birthday Tuesday... church meeting Monday night... teacher group meets Tuesday... Wednesday night church class...maybe Thursday will be a no-responsibility day for me.
And tomorrow would be our 46th anniversary.
