"Fantasy" is a song by American singer Mariah Carey. It was released on August 23, 1995, by Columbia Records as the lead single from her fifth album, Daydream (1995). The track was written and produced by Carey and Dave Hall. It samples Tom Tom Club's 1981 song "Genius of Love". The lyrics describe a woman who is in love with a man, and how every time she sees him she starts fantasizing about an impossible relationship with him. The remix for the song features rap verses from Ol' Dirty Bastard, something Carey arranged to assist in her crossover into the hip-hop market.

"Fantasy" received critical acclaim, with reviewers praising in its production, lyrics, Carey's vocal performance and musical progression. The song became a global success, topping the charts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States, and reaching the top-ten in twenty countries. In the US, "Fantasy" became the first song by a female artist, and second overall to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100, topping the chart for eight consecutive weeks. Additionally, it became Carey's ninth number one on the chart.

Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for starting us off!

Thinking of Helia and family today, when their little granddaughter will be born. Praying for a safe delivery and for everything to go well.

Today I have a free Friday. It's also supposed to be dry today, with some sun, so I see picking up leaves from the garden in my future. I need to get the clothes I decluttered last night bagged up and OTD ready for the collection today. Not as many as I'd hoped, as I ran out of time last night, but it's a good start!

So, we're back? I am not caught up on posts, is helia's grandbaby already here?
oh, good morning, kittykatt - so today is the big day for helia's family!

It's been a week from hell here. Lots of overtime, and issues on all fronts. But I am not going to dwell on that and just jump in where I am, right?
It's not like I have any other chance, we are leaving tomorrow morning for five days at the cottage so all needs to be done before that. And I have two baskets of grapes that need to be processed! We also are going to be hosting a kids' Halloween party, but not on actual Halloween, but on Sunday 2nd - since the schools round here have the entire week off, many people will not be home on Friday. But that's a problem for next week!

Trissie, I remember Helia saying that Dgrand daughter-to -be will be born by planned C-section, for medical reasons, and today is the day.

How wise of you to put the week from hell behind you and focus on good things ahead. This next week is also half term for the schools here (some schools get 2 weeks, I think?).

Well, the weather hasn't got the message that it's supposed to be dry today, and it's currently raining. Again. It's early though so there's still time.for things to change for the better.

I have done two loads of laundry and have it hanging. I have run the dw. I am looking forward to being horizontal.

Sleep well, Dogged, and WTG on the laundry!

I have found the dental floss for DH, (exactly where I told him it would be!) and I'm now going to jump in the shower before he wants me to look for anything else. The day is finally getting light, and from what I can see if the sky I am cautiously optimistic.

We've had rain on and off this morning, so I've used the time by sorting through some more clothes, and I now had a satisfyingly full bag for the charity collection. I still have too much, but I'm starting to see a difference. I also realised I have too many skirt slips, but not enough on in the lengths I need. So, I've donated the surplus, and I'll order a couple of in the right length from M&S while their current discount code is still valid.

I shut all the cats out of the bedroom while I did this, so they went to pester DH instead. He came in complaining that Jude was chewing on on cables and Matilda pulling books out of the bookcase, because he wouldn't give them food every time they asked for some. I suggested he evicted them both from the office, and shut the door! He can always wear his headphones if the meowing and scratching at the door get too much.

Freddie, meanwhile, was waiting very patiently for his walk. So, I've taken him out during a dry spell, and also out the bag of donations out to be collected. I think I'll quickly run the hoover round downstairs next and tidy up the kitchen, and then see if it's dry enough to go outside.
