FOCUS - Bedroom - 3/27/2012 - Second Round

We are beginning the third round of focus for the year.

Finished up a successful few rounds of prior-declutter last week in the corner bedroom/storage room at my parents. Posted on that in The Decluttered Home. Have also vacuumed some and dusted some. I also measured for curtains - the rods are available, stored right in the corner of the closet and I put my hand right on them without searching, so that's great. I won't make them myself, even though that would be fun, but will hopefully find a good buy or even order - just no time.

Here, HRH is keeping up the vacuuming in our bedroom well I notice. This round it will be dd10's bedroom that needs some attention.

Bedroom work this week 1/11
vacuum
dust
find out from cleaners if they found the things they lost.
clean windows
sheets of course
see what I can let go of. (I still can't let go of dd14's knitted purse she and I made)
buy new pillows (dh is starting to take my beautiful pillows)
put up bed skirt... I have had it for years and still haven't put it up.

Dd11's been working in her room. She just needs to keep plugging away - it's a nice room and having the day bed in there gives her extra seating, makes it easier to transform to company room. Our bedroom had to take a backseat this time.

At my parents' the spare bedroom is close to looking like a bedroom again, after using the bed surface for so many clutter sortings. When this most recent sort on the bed surface is finished, I'm going to strip the bed, move it, vacuum the mattress and put on all new linens and new bedspread. The guest bedroom still does not have curtains up, I'm embarrassed to say.

Round three - freshening the bedrooms for the summer.

Final round for the year. It is a good time to get the bedroom done before the holidays.

Also work on decluttering the bathrooms. Check for duplicates, expired and not used items.
