Work smarter, not harder Tuesday!

Post by CathyS »

One of my neighbours says this. He's an older gentleman who is a retired high school English teacher.

Are there ways you can "work smarter, not harder"?
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

When I woke up this morning, I was very curious about the outcome of last night's baseball game. When I went to bed they were in the 12th inning. It went to 18 innings! That's twice as many as a regular game. They worked so hard to get 1 more run and it took twice as long to get the result they wanted.

Does this mean that they were too good at what they were all doing or that they weren't good enough to get the needed result to finish the job?

What are you working too hard at?

I need to move some things to the shed.
Put hose in the shop.
Got trash out to the curb before it was lite out.

Planning is done.
Sermon is not a fun one to hear today.

I listened to a bit but not all of either.

Bread dough is rising that I thawed out last nite I need to check on it.
I have a plan green, beans & meat loaf also thawed out for meals today.
-----
Frost is meaning some so... I got out and did a few things.
Put away a lawn chair in the potting shed.
Put cushions in the other shed.
Moved the rolling desk to a diff part of the carport so I can more easily move a diff. chair

Waving & have a great day ladies!

Quiet in the village so far today. Hoping my back is better after body work. I also went to post office, dropped off corrugated and a printer for recycling, and dropped off a return.

I'm going to get some quiet upstairs before dhouseguests arrive.

Good afternoon!

I wondered how much of the game you saw, Cathy. We went up to bed & turned the TV on there after the ninth. DH gave up and went to sleep after the twelfth, and I think it was about the 15th when he roused and asked me to turn off the TV. By that point, I was half dozing, too. I put the game on my phone with the volume down low and put the phone between my ear and the pillow, so I caught the end. (Sadly.) Apparently, if they had gone to the 19th, Yamamoto, who pitched a complete game for the Dodgers in game 2, had offered to come in and pitch on one day rest. We need the Jays to win tonight! Hopefully, Shane Bieber will pitch a gem.

Yesterday was so busy here on the board! I didn't get back here, but it wasn't because I was being productive at home. I did get the laundry done, though I still have to fold the whites. But I didn't even touch the things to be given away -- DH wanted to go get Halloween candy, and then he wanted to play a game, so dinner was late, and then it was time for the ballgame.

Fortunately, DC's class was cancelled today, so I was able to sleep in. Went to the shrine for mini-pilgrimage part 2 this morning. It was not so peaceful; they were painting part of the chapel. Nor was I the only one there to pray. A couple came in with their grandson (I presume); they were teaching him his prayers. (He was maybe 4.) It was very sweet. When I got home, DD needed to regale me with info about the game she was playing, and DC turned on a cooking show that caught my attention. I'm having lunch now, after which I'll need to brush my teeth and take DD to work and then head to the dentist for a cleaning.

This evening, I will again attempt to work on those things to give away and, ideally, get another load of wash done. DD is champing at the bit now, so I'd better finish up here. Have a great day, everybody! (Go Jays!)

long morning - not bad not good but long. (I woke up at 9 - I was up at 6 and I should have stayed up but I knew that mom duty was going to be full time.
caretaker is not here today but dd younger is helping.
mom was very awake - when either of the dd's are here she is a different person -
she ate, was awake, she stood on her own with the Sara steady. yesterday and the day before was a super weak day.
breakfast took over an hour
watched alsacienne dancing in a village with her.

after mom was fed, cleaned again, bathroom - we put her to bed - dd older is doing work from here as her back is really bad. We all watched the end of Murders in the building. A good ending. Good writing.
dd younger had guessed a lot of things - she was right.

so far (for me and the house)
put blankets in washing machine
my meds :D
my breakfast :D

I don't wanna feelings right now 10+ 8-)
cards are next to me - time to open the box

tuesdays: bathroom zone
towels
