~~~~Waving hello to all~~~~
It’s been a good Monday so far, staying busy with the usual daily tasks. A couple of monthly cards are completed, along with finishing the first-of-the-month financial responsibilities.
I'm taking an hour to relax before heading out to take DH and the teens to their semi-annual dental checkups. We usually have all four appointments together, but my schedule got out of sync after my periodontal surgery. I have a dental appointment on Wednesday and will try to align two of my appointments each year with the family. I go four times a year, while the rest of the family goes twice a year.
Home from a great workout. An unexpectedly great workout, particularly upper body. I stopped at pharmacy on the way home to pick up a script. I went ahead and walked ddog when I got home, temp is 60 degrees and so sunny out. Dh is watching TV on the screened porch in fact.
I need to get my shower and we'll head back out around 5:30ish.
back again -
oven: I will not be using spray cleaner ever again :shock: - dh thought it would be great - oh my gosh we ended up having to open the windows - mom and I started coughing from the fumes - (mom is in a different area but when I went to see why she was coughing you could see the spray mist hanging in that room.. dh did help wash the oven down - he did try but it did not rinse his side well - I thanked him and when he was gone - I finished rinsing it. I like the power wash by dawn better even though it takes more scrubbing.
cleaned the top of the fridge again -
washed the inside and outside of the microwave
swished the underneath of the microwave
I should pull out the drawer under the stove and wash it well (to finish the job). I will put that for next week instead.
flip flopped laundry - changed mom's bedding as she leaked through her cloths - furosemide does that.
the big: mom is feeding herself again - told us not to feed her again.
cleaned the top of the stove
cleaned the toaster well
washed the window above the sink
I need to vacuum and wash the kitchen floor :arrow:
wash the window in the kitchen
vacuum trim and wash the trim in the kitchen
bathroom: I have to clean the shower drain and do a put away
I have more laundry to do for mom
Well phooey. I just lost a long post.
I'm sorry. Hope you're all doing okay.
I do not have any bruising (except for the usual bags under my eyes. :roll: ) Actually, what DGS calls "bags" are really dark circles -- caused by allergies and lack of sleep, I think. I don't have the puffiness of the people in the Plexiderm commercials.
I can't focus enough to complete a post right now. I will try to be back later.
Tomorrow is another day.
sorry you lost a post d Lucy
glad you don't have a big bruise -
I get those too - I stopped using under eye cream and that helped. lack of sleep and allergies do a number under my eyes as well.
have a great evening d Lucy and to all.
I am going to fix my cards for tomorrow.
adding vacuuming the first floor tomorrow.
Well, the best laid plans of mice and men and all that.
Lady who was supposed to be making dgrands' bears from dh's shirts texted back and said she couldn't do it. The doctor has discovered she has a mass on her lungs and she will be beginning some sort of treatment soon. Sooo... I sent a text to the lady on Facebook where I first saw the bears I wanted anyway... and amazingly, she said she could do them by Christmas. (She usually stops taking orders in September.) So within the next two days, I will be making the drive to get these shirts to her. I do not know her, but according to her pictures on FB, she's been doing this for at least seven years, and in one of her pictures, she has five bears she made for a group of sisters, using their mother's wedding dress. I do know some people here in town who have used her, so I believe my shirts will be safe. I know the area where she lives -- it's in the town where I went to college -- and it will take me a little less than an hour to get there. So I may try to get over there tomorrow. I got my shirts back from the other lady tonight. (She lives close by; I pass her house every time I go to town.)
Today has been busy.
[x] Called about these government trees and asked why I have not received payment for this year. (Government shut-down is the cause, which I suspected. Told my dmom, President Trump has "stopped preaching and started meddling." * That's just an expression for when the preacher starts getting to close into your business. I'm not trying to be political or anything.)
[x] Called my dentist about the antibiotic; they said call the one who did the root canal if I thought I still had some infection. (I tried, but they were already closed for lunch. I'll see how things are going after I get these bears taken care of.)
[x] DS and I went to the bank to cash in the savings bonds... that took two trips because we realized after we left that they had put the money in his account, not mine. He has already received the value of the bonds in the interest I pay him each month and the college education we paid for, while letting the bonds reach full maturity.)
[x] Pastor called; DS and I went to the church so I could sign some checks
[x] DS and I ate at local drive-in (Sonic style) while listening to press conference with new interim football coach
[x] DS and I did the school pick-up
[x] home, talked to dmom on phone (kinda morbid but she was in a very good mood -- a Dfriend who is an ordained minister had come by to see her -- she had seen his wife at the grocery store and told her she wanted to talk to him -- they go to different churches now -- and she has secured him to preach her funeral. * I told y'all it was kinda morbid! He is five years older than me and was one of my closest guy friends growing up, almost like a brother. He taught me to play Chinese checkers. Dmom has known him his whole life, so she was very pleased to talk to him.)
[x] folded and put away a load of towels, put away clothes that were hanging in the bedroom, did another load of laundry, hung it to dry
[x] cleaned bathrooms
[x] took DGD her backpack which she had left in the car
[x] talked to bear lady, texted with other bear lady, picked up my shirts, went to the post office, and grocery store
[x] ate supper (frozen lasagna)
So now I am sitting back and watching High Chaparral.
Tomorrow is another day.
Hello, everybody!
Good to hear lucylee doesn't have a black eye.
Good to hear your DM is doing well, blessed.
Hoping your time on hold was not too long, Harriet.
I hope they can find something helpful for your DH without the side effects, Rose.
Twins and Nancy had me looking to see whether the American Revolution is available on PBS Passport (it does not seem to be).
Hoping everybody's teeth are shiny and strong, LadyM!
I think I caught everybody; if I missed you, it's on account of my scattered brain, not you!
Just finished some spiked hot chocolate. I've been a worrywart today. Thursday or Friday, I was getting the occasional light flashing on my dashboard, so briefly I couldn't even see what it was. By the time I took DD to work on Friday, it was clearly the brake light. It would appear I'm leaking brake fluid. So we topped off the fluid, and the brakes are happy for the moment, but I'm just so worried. The mechanic can't take it for a couple days at least. I'm supposed to drive DH down to school Wednesday morning and pick him up Friday. (He's headed out on a retreat.) So, theoretically, I have his car to use while he's gone. But I've never driven his car before. I'm not even sure I fit in the driver's seat. (I have to fold like a pretzel to get in and out of the passenger side.) We were supposed to try this evening, but we got caught up in dinner. I've got to set an alarm to make sure we try tomorrow. I just don't know what I'm going to do, and it bothers me not to know.
Well, there's nothing we can do right now, so I may as well go to bed. Hopefully, I will see you in the morning, a little less frazzled. Sweet dreams!
((Mystery)) If you weren't so wise, you wouldn't have enough sense to worry about it and that could be worse. Hope solutions come soon.
I got all my planned chores done today.
Plus started the new round of houseplant care.
HRH and I were both busy in our offices on tangents. We tag-teamed on meals when we did go to kitchen, calling to each other, "I'm making "blank". You want some?" Ah, the habits two sidetrackable folks get into together.
LucyLee, re the dark circles under eyes, grown up I was told it was due to a lack of sleep. As an adult I read that drinking more water can help them dissipate. I have no idea whether either or both of these may help you! :D
Mystery, cars are a worry, aren't they?
Harriet, WTG getting all your planned chores done.
I'm sitting here with my coffee, procrastinating going for my walk. All I will say about the weather is that it's not raining *yet*. :D
