Thinking Thursday

Post by lucylee »

I hope y'all don't mind that I'm starting a new day. It's already Thursday here and I pretty much lost Wednesday anyway.
I'm calling it Thinking Thursday, because I've got to do a brain dump and think through what I need to do for the rest of the week.
Today, the Lord woke me up for chair yoga, because I forgot to set my alarm! I woke up JUST in time to s2s and get there! Then when I got back home, I ate a bunch of junk and fell asleep on the couch. DS called around 2:30, and it was all I could do to stay awake to talk to him. He probably thinks I sounded like dmom on Ativan! (I promise, I am on no drugs at all!) Finally, I went to the local steakhouse and got a blackened fish plate for supper. I was STILL sleepy and probably napped a little more after that. So you see what I mean when I say I lost Wednesday. (Didn't have to go to church because my class is taking the night off and will reconvene next week with the pastor teaching.
I did have a bit of a low spell, was reading some passages on grief (on FB) and sorta teared up, for no specific reason. Sometimes it better NOT to look at "helpful" sites.

ANYWAY... I'm trying to cuop...
I do hope you and LordM have a much better day tomorrow (today), LadyM. Your fish sounded good to me -- I might have pushed some of the vegetables to the side, but I used to grill (bake?) tilapia with peppers and onions and dh and the dgrands loved it.

And I hope you and HRH have a nice lunch date, Harriet!
I certainly understand going down a rabbit hole, Twins -- now I'm wanting to look up blue tsunami, Cathy!
Kittykat was talking about under bed storage yesterday. Mine could use some work too -- under my bed and under the one in dgrands' bed!
Nancy -- 10K steps plus extra exercise! You go, girl! (It's always a good think when the doctor's visit is a waste of time, BTW!)
And WTG to you, Mystery -- dealing with dh's car while yours is in the shop, right? Did you say why you don't like to drive his vehicle? (When we first married dh had a truck that was a straight shift. I could not drive it -- I've never driven a straight shift. We had that truck for almost 10 years before we replaced it with the truck I sold to Dcousin.)
Good for you getting the Christmas shopping started, blessed! (((HUGS))) for constant irritation from dbro!
I hope things went well at dh's doctor's appt, Cathy.
I also hope (((Rose))) and Sweetie had a better day Wednesday!

RE: Anti-procrastination day, I did mend the pillow that had been on my to do list for a LONG time. As is almost always the case, it did not take long at all. This is a favorite pillow (has sorta a velvet covering) and DGS and I always go to it if we are lying on the couch. But DGS had been holding it by the corners and spinning it around (remember, he does fidgety things without even realizing he's doing it) and all four corners were becoming frayed. I just re-stitched the corners.

Now -- for the rest of this week --
* I think I need to call the endodontist (Is that right? the one who did the root canal.) Regular dentist office told me to do this Monday but I just keep putting it off because I do NOT want any additional antibiotics. But they will be closed again Friday, so I guess I should get their opinion at least.
* I also need/want to finish my outdoor painting (patio and porch furniture) because tomorrow may be the last good weather we have for a while.
* AND I "borrowed" dmom's new Swiffer mop to try out. She had not taken it out of the box. This is the one that does not have the flat pad, but has all the little textured pieces on the mop head. They make it look so nice on tv... we'll see how it goes. I told dmom if I like it, I will buy her a new one.

YESTERDAY, I had a haircut, had to stop by the radio station to pay a bill, and go to the bank for dmom, and then dmom and I went to take the shirts to the teddy bear lady. We got lost -- probably drove right past the place -- because we were trying to read the GPS instructions because the GPS lady wasn't talking to us. LOL... found out I had the voice muted. SMH. We probably wasted at least 45 minutes, maybe an hour, but we laughed and she said she enjoyed the afternoon. I was so tired when we finally got home. What should have taken a couple hours ended up taking at least three.
I hope these teddy bears turn out like I expect. I've sure feel like I've been all around the world trying to get them.

I did buy a couple Christmas presents online yesterday. Joined Prime because one item was $50 cheaper for Prime members! So I could keep it for 3 months and still come out ahead. (This was a full body heat/massage pad for dmom.)

Better sign off and start THINKING about how I'm going to finish this week strong. Hope you girls have a Thrilling Thursday. THINK good thoughts!
Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you for starting us off today LucyLee!! I'm awake because my brain wouldn't let me sleep. Then a John Denver song started to play on repeat to go along with the rest of whatever was up there. As far as looking up "blue tsunami" LucyLee, it was a bit of a political statement yesterday regarding the election results in the US. It isn't actually anything to do with weather conditions.

I turned on the kettle to make myself a hot chocolate, but I don't know if I really want one so early in the morning. I have had 2 oatmeal/raspberry cookies. There is oatmeal and fruit, so it's better than the chocolate bar in my desk drawer.

Today is total garbage day. There is a bag full of styrofoam (?) meat trays in the freezer. (Spellcheck doesn't like that word that starts with an "s".)

Later... All compost, garbage (inc. freezer) and recycling are now out at the road. Two cats are outside.

Later than that... Working on pantry shelves. Even later that that and the pantry shelves are done. So much stuff that didn't belong anywhere near the food shelves.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

What a pleasure to "see" Lucylee starting us out this morning! I do need to do some thinking. Eeek, I have a houseguest coming in tomorrow. How did that happen? And dd will be here Saturday! A friend is picking her up at the ATL airport and getting her here, and she will spend the night with the dfriend instead of showing up here at two in the morning. Worrying about the cutbacks to air service announced yesterday so hoping she makes it without issue.

Right now I need to get the house together for dcleaning lady. That means getting the dog off the bed to get sheets off to wash, and starting the PUPA for her. The house is in pretty good shape but I'll need her to remake guest room bed, and perhaps help make up the day bed in my work room too. Vacuum upstairs again or run roomba tomorrow? I think I'll roomba.

Posting this so I don't forget. I'm going to walk the dog and I'll be back. Dcleaning lady already at work doing her magic.

Morning..

Harriet… my mid-back muscles are tight making my shoulders as well. PT guy said this situation has been going on for years. He’s working on trying to free up the movement in my shoulders and the well work on my back.
Right now I stand in a doorway and by doing two special exercises will help stretch the muscles in my shoulder blades that are attached to my mid-back

When I first went to him, which was right after my nasal surgery he focused on the muscles on my face and neck. No more headaches and have much more movement moving my head from side to side.

I am having lunch with my son today so need to get ready

See y’all later 😃

cleaning angels are here - I am so grateful - I thought I could get to the floors this week - thorough washing type thing - but I only vacuumed. I haven't dusted in two weeks either.

a grumble:
d helper decided not to do stuff with mom this am even though mom was wide awake and alert- helper put the tv on and put her to bed. if I had the time I would have gotten mom going - I tried to suggest it and she said mom wanted to watch tv but she didn't give her an option or try to do things with her. I try to keep her awake until after 12:30 - it's a routine that works well for her. They could have gone for a walk but the helper felt it was too cold - it wasn't. She is on her phone and now mom is back to sleep. I have to let it go bc I am was really busy. I tried to get the helper to do things but she put mom to bed. no exercise, mind things, etc.

the very good: mom thanked me this morning for helping her - not a weak one but a real wide awake mom. she is feisty again and is able to feed herself. very thin though.

finished bills, need to write thank you's

today is errand day
cleaners again
mail
gardens for gift for neighbor
bank for one tip (garbage man)

tomorrows hope:
work outside and in garage.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

bought dh a cardboard cutter - electric as a gift. he does everything by scissors and it's been a struggle. - he doesn't need to cut it small but he has done this for years and it is what he wants to do.

I put pillows on the Christmas list as I always do for the family - not a gift but I replace them every December.
I also have to look at blankets/sheets and decide which ones need to be replaced.

hello d rose I am sorry your back muscles are tight. glad your PT guy is focusing on freeing up your shoulders and back.
so happy you are not having headaches anymore and that your movement has improved in your neck!
enjoy lunch with your dear son

hello d twins - it IS a pleasure seeing d Lucy start us!

hi d Nancy I hope you get rest tonight!!!
hope the journey outside gives you the lift you need!
enjoy your bible reading
yay that your blood sugar is ok today!
lol - rain and watching full moon - I bet the rain, did , wake you up!

hi d cathy I also couldn't sleep last night - I just couldn't. It sounds like that happened to a number of us! Sleep well tonight.
I was grateful that we didn't have voting in our state on Tuesday- very quiet this month.
happy garbage day!
cheering you on as you work

Aaaagh! I came upstairs and went down a rabbit hole again! And now I'm thinking I'll "miss" my workout because I'd rather get something - anything! - done.

OK I did take care of the HOA form for the closing of a house that is selling in the neighborhood.

Down the rabbit hole, I tied up some loose ends from the research yesterday and documented it a little better. I'll thank myself someday when I retrace my steps.

Now I need to retrace my steps on the DAR application and see where I left it.
