Falassarna is located 59 kilometers west of Chania and 12 kilometers west of Kissamos. Falassarna is now one of the most famous destinations in Crete, both for its beaches and for ecological interest. Falassarna is part of the Natura 2000 network, both due to its variety of flora and fauna and as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Descending Platanos towards the west, there are two directions to choose from to enjoy the sun and the sea. The first direction is towards the area of Falassarna. Falassarna is absolutely beautiful and uniquely magical to say the least. In recent years one can also say that it has become cosmopolitan. It is an area with lovely small hotels, many taverns which serve homemade traditional Cretan dishes, numerous beach bars for beverages or snacks while you are at the beach and coffee bars where you can enjoy your drink as you are waiting for the sun to set and the view is absolutely amazing.

Falassarna beach has been voted the most beautiful beach of Crete and is rated as one of the 10 best beaches in all of Europe. It has crystal clear waters and wonderful white and pink sand. When the wind picks up and sea waves begin to come in one after the other, this is the best time for windsurfing lovers to arrive. Indeed an absolute adrenalin rush, not only for those who take part in the sport but also for those who delight in watching windsurfers “play” with the waves created by nature.

The beach of Falassarna extends over a very large area (about 3 kilometres from one end to the other). For practical purposes the locals have given names to different parts of the beach, for example, “Bourouni”, “Kalami”, “Agia Paraskevi” e.t.c. The most famous part of the beach Falassarna is called Pachia Ammos (Bourouni, Avoratias & Gulisma) it’s an exotic wide sandy beach about 1 kilometre long.

Good morning, lovies dovies!

Another wonderful cold gray and misty day in the trissie world! See how I try to be optimistic while facing the terrible tragedy also known as yet another early morning? :-)
Working from home today. Don't wanna jinx it, but this may finally be the one day without errands? DH wants to leave for cottage tomorrow morning, so I will only have today to finish things around the house. I'd love to get to the pantry - we've had mill moths appearing here and there and so I need to finish the pantry in one go if I want to find the source and not have them play hide and seek with me by doing a shelf at a time.
And I really need to do something fun just for me - read a book with some nice hot tea? Get my hands on a ball of yarn? Crossing my fingers that it happens!

Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for starting us off. Is DS feeling any better yet? I hope you have a productive and as stress free as possible day today.

Dogged, what a lovely day at the concert and reception with your DFs! So glad you had a good time.

Bama, none of the gang enjoy their pamper session at all! Jude just meekly submits as she realises this is the quickest way to get it over and done with. Matilda screams like a prima Donna before the clippers come anywhere.near her nails, and Freddie... bites..(as he's a boy and can't multi task and also very good oriented, I try and ensure he's hungry when I start, and present him with a mountain of dried food to work his way through. That way I can get.kost of it done before he decides he's had enough.

Today we are forecast rain and it maybe windy as well (I dont usually take much notice of the Met Office with their "named storms" as usually we're either out of the area, or it does come to anything much. Just "Wet and windy " would be a better term!) I need to remember to be thankful that we are having 🌧️ and not ❄️ or ice!

Today DH is WFH - we had another chat about his pending retirement last night. He will be getting a lot of support with workshops / seminars/ webinars , both with financial discussions, and also with adapting to the changes that retirement will bring, which I think is an excellent idea. However, I note there is nothing for the spouses / partners who will also be having a big change to their lives! ;)

I need to post a list and then just pick *something* and do it! I almost certainly won't get even done today, but that's ok, progress is what's important! :D

Gma, I see you've posted on Thursday 's thread You're very kind to think of your DF who is going through a hard time. I agree that annex obsolescence is a terrible thing, causing people to spend money in unnecessarily. IMHO If something is still working and safe, then the "systems" should be obliged to accommodate it. We have smoke and CO detectors, ... and that's it! The vulnerable pipes are well lagged, and we get nothing compared to your winter temperatures. I have water tanks / heaters inspected annually, and as we're around almost all of the time, I think we'd notice if something went amiss! ( And I have a service contract that means someone would be out the same day to fix it.)

Your DMum was evidently very much loved by many people, which is lovely, but I'm beginning to appreciate the amount of work involved for you with all the paperwork and "thank yous" to write.

So far today, Fred has been for his walk, I've managed to cut Jude's and Matilda's nails, give them a good brush and apply their flea control. Fred has had the nails on his front paws done, and a good brush, but has so far declined any more nail clipping and also his flea control. He started biting, so in the interests of everyone's safety, we're taking a break. As it isn't actually raining yet, and it's incredibly mild (14 C), I think I'll go for a walk round the estate.

Edited to add: I've now managed 3 paws on Fred and I think we'll call it Good Enough. The 4th paw is on his back leg on the opposite side to his bad hip, where the nails get more worn down anyway, as he puts more weight on it. The most important - his dew claws on his front paws - are done, as if they get too long they risk growing into his leg. :o

It may seem that I really, really do not want to work on my IDD research project (which was due in June... but internal deadlines for things which will improve the processes in the long run are arbitrary in my line of work where priority is always given to external deadlines, mandated by law or state-level regulators, and to deadlines driven by the immediate needs of the company, so it's more me not wanting to drag too many overdue tasks), as I did pretty much everything else on my work list, even other stuff I didn't want to do either! :-)

L.Ann, I sprayed the cleaner in the shower downstairs and then got distracted and when I got back, it had done the work without the effort, so I am happy! Apparently this new brand should be used in a spray and forget as opposed to spray and scrub pattern :-)
kittykatt, I'll have to take our cat for nail clipping. She was always very good about taking care of it on the scratching post, but with her bad knee it's becoming a problem.
