Re: Siamese Saturday
Wow my motivation is missing. I crocheted for a while and now i have to probably go back a bit again. Still seems every solid row I have to back up. But it's 6 or 8 inches of solid pattern now and it will get there eventually.
I think 10 ish for the craft fair? It is open already for seniors at 9. 930 for everyone. I should at least deal with the kitchen first.
I did go down to the craft room and ended up turning the bed. Contemplating stealing my big chair in there and it will fit that way. Then maybe I can redo my piano corner. Maybe I just need to go and do instead of sitting here.

Re: Siamese Saturday
Hello, all. I am having a productive day today, as I don't have any particular Donwannas to dodge, so I just get on with things, LOL. I have a delighted dog, who is thrilled that I put no seasonings in the slow cooker so treats are coming with a piece of carrot or pork. I just had my breakfast over a potato, so she could have that as well. I can now pronounce: a safe and effective way to shock an elderly dog out of a bout of dementia is pick her up and put a plate of carrot and pork under her nose. Instant change from staggering around confused to laser-focussed on the plate, followed by intelligent strategizing for more treats.
It's just above freezing with no wind that I can see, so she will be able to go outside for a walk and sniff as well.
I'm sure that your pork roast will be delicious, Kittykatt. I can attest that the slow cooker pork is also very good. Thank you for starting us off.
trissie, WTG on surviving teen drama. My df described childhood stages this way: You have a toddler that you would never leave in the shed unsupervised because they're mobile now, but they're idiots. Your child turns ten and you can trust him in the shed because he is developing responsibility and understands about safety. Your child becomes a teenager, and oh! look! Your shed's on fire. Is it possible that the twins are attracted to shapeless clothing because they are not comfortable with how their bodies have changed and the attention that attracts? I remember by the time that I was twelve, trucks stopping for me and wolf whistles.
Yikes, Smile*Lee, on the 3:00 am start and busy day with no room to catch up with a nap.
I'm glad that DD32 feels well, L.Ann. You have intrigued me with your miniature cow activity.
We call those out of home cooking businesses "pirate kitchens" here, L.Ann. That activity shot up during COVID, as people who didn't qualify for the govt payments looked for a way to make money and people who couldn't go out looked for ways to break the monotony. I think the govt kind of turned a blind eye until after, then there was a big crackdown. Which is too bad, in my opinion. I know that they wouldn't have met the standards for professional kitchens, but they were all small businesses with a small clientele that were likely to know one another or a friend of a friend type deal, so not a generalized risk to public safety.
I'm sorry about your washing machine. That's a setback that you didn't need.
I hope that you get your breakfast out, Bama.
Kittykatt, maybe your DH's old phone is hanging with my missing library DVDs?
Lauralind, I have replaced my chrysanthemums with a nice poinsettia last week, so decorate on! I'm in your corner. A couple of the houses in my neighbourhood had their Christmas displays up. I like them. It's cheerful to see when I am driving home.
helia, that is great with the excellent job that your window washers have done. I have retreated to the stance that the streaks I leave are proof that I have washed the windows, LOL.
Saturday
Checked the slow cooker
Made a breakfast plate for Germane, including pork and carrot from the slow cooker
Cleaned up after Germane
Put away dry dishes
Researched fancy soup mixes for hostess gifts/Christmas gifts
Treats for Germane, who woke up
Found temporary homes for remaining dry dishes that canβt be put away until drying rack is taken down
Changed out kitchen cloths
Set up a milk jug
Rearranged fridge door to stop milk from falling out
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Loaded the big cutlery holder for dw
Got weirdly invested in cleaning the dw: washed the filters, borrowed the turkey basin from the air conditioner and syphoned the tank, wiped out the inside
Loaded dw to run tonight
Washed more dishes

Re: Siamese Saturday
I'm very curious about the mini cow event, L Ann. How was it? I think we're getting new tires/ rotating tires this year. Dh takes care of the car tires and does this every 2 years.
Craft fair sounds like fun, Lauralind.
Those pesky donwannas can sure slow a girl down, Doggedly.
Glad the 2 different stations wasn't a hardship, trissie.
It is almost 4pm, and I'm now dressed and ready to go to the gym. LOL! I've done plenty of other things today - it's just the way my day has gone. I didn't walk to dd27's, so I'm going to walk (5 minutes) to the gym and back.
I'm close to finishing the baby blanket - 2 hours or less.
Next:
- gym
- organize Memorial thank yous
- Mom's load #5: fold and bag
Later:
- Memorial thank yous progress
- Mom's load #5: w d f bag
- payroll: GGT spreadsheet wip
- dinner: quinoa and black bean, rice, salad
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- reading?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - down a little
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website: sunny!! high of 45F so chilly
- kitchen is fine
- some qt
- mom's load #4 folded and bagged
- mom's load #5 washed + drying
- payroll: GGT - put in final exam info before I forgot + submitted my syllabus for this session
- spiffed self; gathered stuff for lunch
- 12:30 - 2:45 lunch at dd27's place (did not drive) + crafting time
- home; phone calls with dh - he went ahead and ordered the chairs and just consulted me. We knew what we wanted.
- back exercises; dressed to exercise
- made the bed

Re: Siamese Saturday
Hello, everyone!
L.Ann, I'm guessing the mini cow event was a show of miniature sized cows?
(We have some small cow breeds, I think one's called the Dexter?)
Helia, WTG getting the new dining chairs ordered. Will you post a picture of your baby blanket when it's finished?
Sorry about the washing machine, Trissie. Fingers crossed you can arrange a replacement quickly!
Laura, WTG resisting temptation at the craft fair!
Dogged, you need a Matilda to find those missing DVDs, as she found DH's phone.
It wasn't in the boot of the car, and it wasn't in all the "stuff" from the cupboard, so I decided to make a start on the pine chest instead. DH had left the bottom drawer of his chest of drawers open, and Matilda does love an open drawer. So, she started pulling things out, and then I saw the edge of something shiny and it was DH's missing old phone. I've charged it up, and now I'm waiting for him to remember the PIN number so we can do a factory reset.
I've made good progress in the bedroom, and done everything except wax the floor. I'll leave that until Monday when DH should be safely at work!
I've had a few minutes in my soggy front garden, prepped lunch for tomorrow and made a chocolate loaf cake. And peeled the potatoes for supper tonight. DH is supposed to be cooking sausages and mash, and it will save him some time, as he came home well "refreshed" tonight and promptly started snoring.

Re: Siamese Saturday
It's got to be hard to sell crafts to people who are good at handicrafts, Lauralind. Probably an easier sell in the cities. I hope that you enjoyed the outing anyway.
It must feel so good to be almost done with the baby blanket, helia. A real feeling of accomplishment. Was the gym your donwanna today? If so, you have done a good job of funneling them into procratsaccomplishments instead of lost time.
Kittykatt, Matilda didn't happen across any Tintin DVDs did she?
WTG on all that you got done today.
Saturday
Checked the slow cooker
Made a breakfast plate for Germane, including pork and carrot from the slow cooker
Cleaned up after Germane
Put away dry dishes
Researched fancy soup mixes for hostess gifts/Christmas gifts
Treats for Germane, who woke up
Found temporary homes for remaining dry dishes that canβt be put away until drying rack is taken down
Changed out kitchen cloths
Set up a milk jug
Rearranged fridge door to stop milk from falling out
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed some dishes
Loaded the big cutlery holder for dw
Got weirdly invested in cleaning the dw: washed the filters, borrowed the turkey basin from the air conditioner and syphoned the tank, wiped out the inside
Loaded dw to run tonight
Washed more dishes
Put my feet up for 20 minutes
Spiffed self
Bagged garbage and sent it down the chute
Walked dog
I'm going to take some time to play the computer game my db shared with me, while I listen to the radio.
