trissie ~ "real food" is quite abundant in the US. The problem is that there is a LOT of junk food around, too. A lot of the travel centers/truck stops now carry fresh fruit, veggie cups, hardboiled eggs, salads, fresh sandwiches, etc. You just have to tune your eyes in the right direction. That said, it's a lot easier to take a little time and pack your own.
helia ~ we've gotten in the habit of going to the Apple Dumplin' for Sunday buffet because it's just "around the corner" from us. Everything is homemade. yummy!

Made it to the hotel. Trip was uneventful - good! Stopped by Dbro/J's and dropped off the food. Even thought it's quite windy, it's still warmer tonight that what'll be tomorrow morning. Ds/A will be here in about an hour.

~ Happy Thanksgiving to you! The easiest way to read through the Bible is The One Year Bible. You can do it online, on the app, or a real Bible.
https://www.bible.com/reading-plans/60- ... year-bible
A lot of the versions also have audio.
I know some people who like the ESV version.
I love The Message version by Eugene Peterson.
Another really good "newer" version is The Passion Translation.
I never read through the Bible till I started a yearly plan in 2000. I've been doing it every year since. You'd think I'd get bored reading the same thing every year, but I feel like I learn something new every time. The characters become more real and complicated. God becomes deeper - so good.

Glad you made it safely, Smile!
It looks like you got a lot done, Bama. My goodness - DD2 never mentioned the spare! Good for dh for taking care of it.
Ah, THAT is what white food is, Kitty. It sounds kinda bland.

Well, a wrench has been thrown into our plans. Suspicious because I'm coughing, which is extremely unusual for me, I did a home test this evening - and it is positive for Covid. Not sure what the protocol is nowadays. I'm sure the Cs will not come tomorrow; he is an MD at the hospital and can't risk getting sick. I guess I'll need to hide out tomorrow, separate from everyone? Or be masked? I do feel kinda crummy so maybe that's not all bad. My appetite is now diminished. Maybe I'll lose some weight?

I'm enjoying hearing all the different ways many of us study the Bible! Each one just needs to find what works for them. I alternate studying a book of the OT with a book of the NT and pray about what would be a good book to study. Now, I'm using the manuscript study method, which the Org (IVCF) that S and dd30 work for has developed. I print out one chapter without headings (there were no headings in the original languages), double space it, and spend the first day on that chapter just reading, thinking, and making connections and writing notes. (Our CG2 studies this way too.) Then, I crack open a commentary on the subsequent days; I journal as well - what I'm learning and how it might apply to my life -- or what I'm thinking about -- or other things. Each day might be a little different, and that's OK. I make room for that.

Next:
- duolingo
- update health apps
- veg; it's OK to do that now. :D

Wednesday TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- messages with AS, my personal trainer; I may not come in bc of my cough, though it would be good to exercise.
- email deletions and weather website - 37F now - and temps are just decreasing from now until Friday a.m. There is 4.5 inches snow forecast for Saturday and more on Sunday.
- coffee
- texts with AS - decided my coughing was too often for me to feel comfortable in the gym with other people
- some qt
- load of sheets + our light stuff: w drying
- load of darks: washing
- moved suitcases + most of my mom's stuff out of the guest room; there are some books on the dresser left
- put 1 more duffle bag away + deposited another bag of give away stuff from my mom in the laundry room give away pile, which is growing into a small mountain
- spiffed myself + wiped down shower bc dh didn't do it
- back exercises
- get dressed
- make my bed
- moved Mom's books (and dd27's ipad) out of the room; organized Mom's few things
- made up both guest beds
- darks to the dryer
- lights: fold and p/a
- greeted dbro + dniece
- lunch
- moved $$ around in bank accounts
- WF: picked up ribs + odds and ends
- put food away
- called PO to check on their outside boxes; I put 3 checks in one on Nov. 13, and they haven't cleared yet, including one to the IRS. They say they empty them twice a day. Hmmm.....
- moved broken chair into the garage
- darks: folded and p/a
- made cornbread -- had dniece help me a bit
- got a snack out for dniece since dbro was sleeping;
- went for a short walk? It is cold and windy -- but moving might be good for me.
- bins brought back from the curb
- made dinner for 5: chili, rice, cornbread (made earlier), salad + various toppings for chili + salad
- after dinner clean up; dbro left and went to bed. There was a lot to clean up. That's kinda his m.o.
- wrote check for dd27
- covid test
- lots of communication

(((Helia))), what rotten luck to be sick on Thanksgiving. Take it easy.

Thank you all for the information on reading the Bible. I’m enjoying the different ways everyone does things. I don’t have the ability to focus for long so a chapter a day has been working for me. Hope to increase it in the new year.

I have made it through the Bible a couple times in the last few years as well. Once on my own just reading through and cross referencing with my study Bible. One was an online group with my Bible study ladies that a few of us finished. I was always struggling feeling like I was failing till I figured out not to put dates on it. If I miss a day just keep going anyway then I don't feel like I'm behind. The group plan gave us old and new in chronological order and it took us a few months longer than it should have but at least 3 of us finished. I still have a hard time actually getting my mind set to get something out of it. Getting there though.

Anyway reasonable day. House looks better. Kitchen feels clean. I did book a massage that might work out pretty well if Bible study next week ends up where I think 2 minutes from her house.

All the little odds and ends got done. A good visit with h. She has training in counseling so we are working together every other week.

Then I did take mom home again. And chatting with dd a few minutes.

Oh and I backed up my crochet again. ...

Oh no that's bad timing helian. I hope you feel better soon.
