Ooh, a gingerbread house sounds fun, L.Ann!

I need to post my list for the week. I discovered today that one of the leaves on the dining table has a broken spring, so I'm not confident about its ability to bear any weight! Finding someone to sort that out is a priority for this week.

trissie, well, I'm just showing how little I know about major Christmas baking! It wasn't such a thing in my home. My mom would bake homemade cinnamon rolls for Christmas breakfast and might make a homemade pie or two. I don't remember her getting into homemade cookies so much. Interesting. . .
Hi Peaches.
I hope you can find someone to look at your table, Kitty.
It sounds like you're making great progress with Christmas prep, L Ann. Nice that DD32 can face time with your Utah family.
I'm hoping to get lists for the week done today too, Kitty. I have some things to add to the lists I have made.
LOL Smile! I had that once in a while too as a kid too, banana and Miracle Whip on bread. Maybe that was a Central Illinois thing?
Doggedly, I too think that sounds pretty tasty.
That's as far back as I can scroll. . . But Bama - did you introduce the mysterious. . . "tomato gravy"?

How did I miss "tomato gravy"?

The day has remained gray. I have not been very productive. I have snacked almost half of the day's points.

I'll start helping with dinner prep in 45 minutes.

Next:
- make lists in notebook
- gather Memorial thank you info
- write Memorial thank yous
- dw: unload

Later:
- get a load of laundry going - tomorrow
- strip bed - tomorrow
- make lists in notebook
- make a list of Memorial thank yous
- write at least 1 thank you card
- payroll: slides for tomorrow
- payroll: update gradelink
- other things?
- dinner: bread, rot. chicken, Dutch cheese, pizzas
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- enjoy a fire in the fireplace 8-)

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - same
- coffee and now tea
- email deletions; weather website
- ordered a wool sweater for myself -- opted for a L so I can layer underneath. I hope it's not too baggy.
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- squeegeed and wiped down shower
- finished folding and bagging last load of Mom's stuff
- made bed
- lunch
- cleaned kitchen a.m.
- ran dw
- afternoon church
- communication with work re: covid test - they seem pretty chill since I'm feeling pretty OK
- WF - picked up cold chicken
- Walgreens - got more shampoo since we're completely out
- snacked too much

These happy culinary accidents that we discover in our youth, Smile*Lee, can bring us right back to those times.

Lunch sounds delish, Kittykatt. Which Poirot did you watch?

It's starting to feel like Christmas, L.Ann.

Go, Peaches!

It's very grey here too, helia. I'm sure that counts for some lack of motivation.

I have been messaging with my db. Last night I had gone on the web site for the SPCA of Quebec City, which is mysteriously called SPA de Quebec. Society for the Prevention of Animals? I guess if they offer spay/neuter service, it fits...
Anyway, I saw a gorgeous grey (blue?) cat with a name like Normade. My db messaged me that he adopted a grey male named Nomad so I went back and checked the site, and his picture is gone. My db confirmed that's the one. He really is a beauty.

Sunday
Went down to car and brought up the dog food that I forgot in the previous load so that it doesn’t freeze
Cleaned up after dog
Checked tshirts. Put away the dry and spread some more around the apartment to dry better.
CUOP
Emptied out wastepaper baskets
Put on a pot of coffee
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed dishes
Put more dishes in to soak
Breakfast
Checked dishes and put away dry
Started new milk jug
Washed the soaking dishes
Dumped the water
Checked phone bill: nothing due
Started putting away groceries.
Reorganized cookie jars to fit the new ones
Filled the jasmine rice canister in order to fit new rice in the food bin
Filled the potato bin
Put away dry dishes
Contacted db about phone visit

Going to focus on things that I want to do before settling in for phone visit with db.

helia ~ I have no idea the origins of the banana/miracle whip/white bread sandwich. Both my Deep South relatives & Michigan (north) relatives loved Miracle Whip. I was in high school before I ever had real mayonnaise. My dad - from Alabama - REALLY loved them. Yes, Bama threw tomato gravy out there - and just left us high & dry. I might have to go internet diving.....
Doggedly ~ gray and white sounds very regal.
L.Ann ~ aww.. I'm sure it was very disappointing to have a faulty gingerbread house. Last year, we hot glued the ones we wanted to last awhile - and then made one to eat.

I've done a little bit of Christmas shopping online. Walmart annoyed me. I'm already signed in - and then they want me to "verify" by texting them with my phone number. They just want to annoy me with all the other spammers. So, no thank you. I'll run over tomorrow and look for the item. We have 3 within 10 miles. Surely, one has it.

Okies.. off to fix some supper.

Aw Nomad sounds so pretty/handsome! Sometimes we must help the cat distribution system along. lol at spa, sounds ominous.

Tomato gravy, basically brown gravy (flour and bacon grease or sub of your choice) with diced tomatoes added, s&p to taste. Yummy for adult tastes, I hated it as a kid, thought it was gross.

Sorry we were eating and now watching the og grinch cartoon on dh’s last day home before we go back to routines and work.

Done:
Make tomato gravy
Cook sausage
Send dh to get biscuits so I don’t have to cook it all :P they didn’t have any so subbing toast and it was delicious
Make coffee
Ate and logged brunch
Dust
Dw unloaded
Waiting on dh to eat, he decided to get gas while out and now he’s unloading recyclables from his truck before he comes in (the recycling place was closed yesterday when he went)
Emails
Ordered vinyls for the girls (wicked, idkhow)
Watch Dear Santa with jack black
Pet chores -Feed, Water, Litter
Garden - Water greens
Self - Shower and shampoo
Ate and logged supper
Watched The grinch who stole Christmas
Now watching the dog show from Thursday. The German shepherd placed 5th woohoo. Another type shepherd won first, a gorgeous black shepherd that I can’t remember the rest of the breed name.
Dh wasn’t interested in dogs (he’s prolly afraid I’ll go get another one lol) so watching Shakespeare & Hathaway.

Later:
Vacuum
Mop
Pets -
Try dry shampoo on dogs
Brush
Laundry -
Laundry room
Kitchen
Dining Room
Living Room
Bathrooms
Bedrooms
Porch -
Toss dead plants
Sweep
Yard -
Declutter around tables
Vehicles -
Wipe out inside
Mom’s -
Toss dead plants
Planner/Paperwork
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥
