Bama, is cookie baking and decorating something you'd do with your daughters?

Thank you for starting us off, trissie. I have heard of turkey bowling, but only by misbehaving retail workers. Only the night crew of course (overnight stockers). They wouldn't try it during the day.

That is a timely reminder, Kittykatt. We have a food donation box in our lobby for the food bank. I did bring down a can of tomato sauce. I'll bring down another can today, may soup or mushrooms or peaches. An investment firm is donating $1 to the food bank for every item we bring, so better to bring small things all month than one big one.
There is a reason that I am not married, as that stream of questions while I am trying to sleep would lead to some very sarcastic maps sent to my dh's phone. You have the patience of a saint.
WTG on getting your critique done!

I don't know, Bama, but I think that I should try the experiment of restricting my playing time today, to promote more cleaning-related activities. I'm working on convincing myself that they are as fun as solitaire. My current addiction is a game called Tornado.

helia, it's hard to see our progress when we feel like we're riding madly off in all directions at once, but we see a lot of accomplishments in your lists.
Why turkey bowling? Probably for the same reason as forklift jousting. You leave some people alone in a store with little supervision, and work is not the result.

I hope that DBD's appointment went well, trissie.

Hi, Harriet.

Bama, do you remember when designer colours were all the rage in bathroom fixtures? Generations of people praying that their toilet would break so that they could replace avocado one.

Dogged, how nice of you to share with those less fornunate even though you yourself are not that rich! But I guess it's the proverbial widow who has had to go without who undertands how little may sometimes mean a lot - unlike the rich man who gives from abundance.

Hi, L.Ann. I hope that you had a good time with your dfs.

You know what they say, trissie: If there's enough for eight, there's enough for ten. We can always stretch the food a little to include a couple more. Somehow, bringing down a can here and there to the donation box doesn't feel as alarming as committing to a monthly donation of money. I know that have this available now, but don't have full confidence in the future. And this is done through my apartment building. Our grocery stores have donation bins that feel more and more like a scam. They want us to buy from the store and put the donation in the bin on our way out, so we are paying full retail cost for that, and the store's charity gets credit for the donation. Now a couple of the big grocery chains have moved to selling $10 paper bags that you can't see through, that has food for the food bank. Some people have opened the Loblaws one that they bought and took pictures of what was inside. It was all store brand, so the chain maximized their profits, and when they added up the cost of the individual items, they came to less than $10. So the customer paid retail price of $10, the store's charity would get credit for donating $10, but the food bank did not receive $10 worth of food. My apartment food drive is one that I am happy to participate in.

I dropped off a few odds and ends that I got for when the grandkids were here at the Little Free Pantry at the library. Things that DD32 and I don’t or shouldn’t eat. By the time I got my two library books and left the library it was gone.
It is a gross cold rainy day. It has been pretty much raining nonstop all day. I am doing a combo of inside and outside walking but it is not much fun.

Here is the recipe Trissie. https://www.wellplated.com/one-skillet- ... h-chicken/

1-chicken in crock pot to warm up
2-walk a bit more
3-mail sort

Drive safely, Harriet. I think an easy to clean toilet seat sounds great! This is the most public toilet in our house. Our MBR toilet is a rather nice electronic version of a "Japanese toilet"/ bidet. After our travels in Japan and Korea years ago, I really wanted one! Dh did too - so we got one! This one has a seat warmer, but it has broken, unfortunately. I don't think we'll get a bidet for this more public bathroom. Maybe?
WTG getting in steps even if the weather is unpleasant, L Ann.
Great idea, Bama! I hope you enjoy DD2's visit!
WTG on the holiday cleaning, trissie.
LOL Doggedly! You're probably right - in answer to my why!

I'm getting things done - but time is also ticking. It is now 2 pm.

It is cloudy here now - but 31F. Not bad. I might opt for walking today instead of the gym, although tomorrow's forecast is very similar.

Next:
- switch lights to dryer
- some qt
- menu plan and grocery lists

Later:
- load of lights: w d f pa
- exercise: cardio at the gym - my symptoms are gone; just some slight congestion - but that's not unusual for me
- WF run - get bd card + treat for B while I'm there
- Kroger order?
- put all food away
- Memorial thank yous progress
- email reply to DS re: travel with them, maybe in January?
- 5:20 payroll: phone call with director
- dinner: chicken cacciatore, rice, green beans
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- payroll: grade HWs turned in
- payroll: slides for D5
- payroll: update exam record
- can I figure out a new toilet seat to order?
- bring in wood for an evening fire

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a new high for me -- not ultimate but for the past year, probably :?
- coffee
- found bill for the state of MI; dh talked to our CPA yesterday about something else and asked her about it. She thinks it's legit.
- paid bill
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- made the bed
- reclaimed the kitchen
- gathered sweaters to be dry cleaned
- messages with AC re: travel next week; we'll make reservations on Sunday, depending on the weather

- load of lights washed
- lunch
- kitchen tidied again

Trissie, I hope all of the low hanging fruit tadas make the harder ones easier to do. My girls have never really helped much in the kitchen, maybe because I was usually in a hurry back then and it was easier to just get it done. Although to hear them now, they actually cook. Idk as I’ve never sampled it lol. I do all of the cooking here.

Doggedly, I could never stand our mustard yellow appliances way back when. Hollywood has a green sink and tub in the bathroom, the toilet must have been replaced at some point as it’s a generic white. I honestly don’t hate the green now, in small doses.
Forklift jousting might be a little too far fetched for me. I’d flinch a lot, even just watching. There’s a reason the medicine labels say don’t take and drive heavy equipment lol.
I agree that it’s hard to tell the scams from the good deeds these days.

Way to go on finishing the critique kittykatt.

LAnn that recipe looks good and easy to prepare.

Hi Peaches.

Helia I’ll have to look up Japanese toilets now.
