My dsis2 is in the SEattle area, has told me about the "atmospheric river." Fortunately she is high enough that she is no impacted by the flooding, ecept with how it interferes with travel around the city.
Doggedly, your little Germane always entertains with her antics - at least your descroption fo them. I am usre it gets frustrating at times to deal with her aging issues.
trissie, you are an amazing baker, and getting all those baking things done with the kids is both fun and time consuming. In years to come you will wonder how did it all get done! Sorry about the bullying - you are right, there is no right side, only 2 wrong sides.
FFB, I always enjoyed that baking with ds when he was little. He did too. And we gave away lots of cookies as gifts.

We had pretty good attendance at church today - considering that it was -14 when I woke up. The coat racks get pretty full! Kids choir sang a couple numbers. We have our children's program Wednesday night, and for coffee afterwards it's a cookie potluck! Then later in the week, we pack bags with "little loaves" of quick breads and other items, that will go to our homebound members. So I have some baking to do this week. And I will have to make sure that there are baking supplies at mother's house, because I have to be there all day Wednesday, waiting for the guy to come for the annual furnace tune-up. They ask me to give them an 8-4 window when they can come any time. So I will work on baking while I am waiting. Hopefully I will have my wrapping done by then - for those things that go out in the mail. I will still need to do ds and his family, and some local people.
Afternoon today included going to a local bar, as one of mother's former tenants, a jazz pianist, had come from where he is teaching on teh East coast to this bar here for an afternoon performance. I was there for 2 hours, but have enough to do that I coulndn;t stay any longer.
Before the performance, I put some decorations on my tree. About 1/3 done with that. No tree up at mother's. Just so much that I can do.

Heading to mothr's where I have the gift wrap center set up, as soon as I change into working clothes.
We have hit above 0 F, it almost feels balmy!

Gma, luckily Germane was not put into the world to work, and she's still a companion, whatever her capacity. Mostly I focus on keeping her comfortable. This new finickieness with her food scares me a little in case it's a sign that her organs are shutting down and she's losing her appetite, but for today I have found a combination that she will eat and that lets me get her pills into her. You know how it is with old dogs.
That is good planning to do your baking while you are waiting for the furnace guy. He's not going to have to turn off the electricity while he works, is he?

trissie ~ we don't have "dangerous" flooding but it is common in certain parts because the twin (small) cities are built on a prairie - low & flat - and it some places marshy. A lot of homes in my city are required to have a valve that prevents sewer back up into your home due to flooding. That happened to my niece and it's not pretty.

I'm pooped. Li'l H wears me out - in a good way. She was super tired - almost fell asleep on the way home. We played charades for over an hour. She loves that game. Okies... gotta go get the house picked up, 'cuz I hear my pjs calling my name. It's only 8:30 and it feels like 11.

While filing/discarding papers from my desk, I found a lottery ticket that has to be cashed before the end of January, and it looks like I won $8 on it. I love it when the house pays you for decluttering.
