Hello, FFB, Trissie, Helia and Bama!

FFB, DS 10 having just one guest for his birthday sounds much easier on you!

Trissie, I have made braided bread. Once. It was just using three strands and I tucked the ends in, but a mould sounds much easier! :D

Helia, I so understand needing time on your own to recharge!

I'm sure the party will go well, Bama!

I'm having some time home alone, after a few days filled with people. DBIL (he is D once again now he is no longer in our house! ) left early this morning, so he could be back home in time for their church. He did actually have some helpful and encouraging things to say to DH yesterday evening re the voluntary redundancy / early retirement thing that's still hanging over us. :D

Church was good this morning, but rather fraught afterwards , as no one can find the supplies for Christingle, the preparations for which are taking place on Tuesday, with the actual service on Wednesday. The verger, MQ has hidden them in a "safe place", but she is now sick and (understandably) her phone is turned off. Between us we've established that the oranges have been ordered and just need collecting tomorrow, someone has found the candles in their hiding place, but no one can find the red rubber bands, so I've found some on Amazon, which should be delivered tomorrow. No one can find the big cardboard model of the Christingle, even though we've searched the church everywhere, including all the cupboards. But one of the retired priests knows she has one in the attic, so her husband will be sent up there this afternoon to retrieve it. (He looked like a frightened rabbit caught in headlights when he heard this news!)

Lunch was very nice - DH's DF A came with his GF, so it was just just the four of us. We had a carvery, followed by crème brulee, very tasty, but the best bit for me was having nothing to do with the meal except eating it! :D

I've folded laundry and PA, and DH has gone to the choir rehearsal for the carol service. DNeighbour S did some more work on the fence this afternoon (Why? How? It was raining!) but I've now drawn the curtains to make it more cosy.

My main aim this evening is to plan the next few days so I can get everything done. S flies out Tuesday afternoon, so weather permitting, I want to have some time then to rescue the far end of my poor garden. An hour should do it, but it would be nice if it stopped raining! DH is going out to play with a group of friends tomorrow, so that will be time for me to get upstairs clean and tidy, and restore the spare room after DBIL's stay (I can't face it this evening) . And I need to plan meal prep for the Christmas meals this week, so it's not all left until the last minute!

It's always helpful to think through one's week beforehand, Kitty. Glad you also got some alone time.
I hope the party is going well, Bama! Have fun!
Welcome back, L Ann! --Oh goodness on DNA samples. At least they could prove dniece is related to dh. LOL! We'll look into entrance requirements as the time draws nearer. Things also seem to change rather quickly, so who knows what will be required next fall?
Did you bake cookies today, trissie?

It's almost 3 pm. I need to get back at it.

Church went long this morning, so we didn't get home until around 12:30. I've had lunch, dealt with laundry, reclaimed the kitchen, reloaded the dw, and am running it again before we host dinner for 7 people.

I still need to pick up food for 7 people, so a WF run is in order. I also need to put up some material in GC to help my students prep for their final exam tomorrow. Dd27 is making noise about getting a tree with Fable this afternoon. Will there be time? RH is out for a couple hours. I suppose he might want to join us in getting a tree? It would be kinda nice to do it with just dd27. . . . We'll see how things unfold. I'm going to prioritize payroll.

The zoom call tonight has been cancelled because ds + F are going to a wedding. We'll zoom on Christmas day instead.

Next:
- payroll: set up material in GC
- payroll: let students know it's there
- payroll: message to students re: missing HW - if they care

Next:
- switch laundry
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- laundry: tumble press and then fold/ hang shirts and pants

Later:
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- payroll: post audio + scripts, vocab list, midterm exam - to redo for practice
- lights: w d f pa
- walk
- WF run?
- 6 host Sunday dinner for 7 people
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- maybe start wrapping?
- put away puzzle?
- other things?

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website - sunny but cold, high of 29F (around -1.67 C); currently 18F
- s2s and self care
- 9:45 - 12:30 ish church
- lunch
- kitchen reclaimed; dw loaded with leftover dishes and running again
- darks: mostly folded and p/a
- lights: washed
