The appt was tough and distant. A follow-up but extensive, no doctors but different PA. nurses. Everything took longer than expected. On the way home, we decided we really needed to stop and pick up a late lunch, plus there was a pill I was supposed to be taking and so I needed something to drink with that.
Back home, there was a package delivery AND, inside the back porch, a Christmas present, very large and obvious. Right away, looking at the artistic use of many pieces of tissue paper like a big flourish over the bag, I said HRH's sister's name. I just know how she does wrapping. HRH immediately said his brother's name as the deliverer, though. Sure enough, that was the case, and we had a nice long phone chat.
No sooner were we through with take-out and telephone, than ddolder called saying she was out walking, could she drop by to visit. So that was lovely. Also she helped with trash day work in advance of tomorrow.
So, really, really tired by then, and with both she and HRH squinting at me and telling me so, I decided I'd better nap.
DgdC had to print out homework assignment and somehow needed HRH to help, so they came over later. Also, they'd had a package delivery here for some reason. They were full of stories about getting to go to the football game Sunday. Had a wonderful photo of the family taken there, all bundled up against the wind with toboggans.
Harriet, I hope you are sound asleep as I am typing this. I’m so sorry it was such a long day, but glad it ended with some sweet visits and surprise gifts!
I’ve been kinda lazy today, but did gather some more Christmas decorations to the dining room table, dusted the spaces they left, and talked to dmom re: ham. It says 20 minutes per pound at 325. That’s 400 minutes! Dmom said that sounds about right. I’ll check it periodically.
Ddil called and said her family meal is New Year’s DAY, so they will visit with cousins also tomorrow. That makes me feel better.
