I think that you had to be organized when you were a teacher, L.Ann, and that you have put those habits to good use.

Time with your book sounds like an excellent To Do, kitkat.

Bama, do you make your onion soup from scratch? My db was telling me to mix a packet of onion soup in the Greek yoghurt and use it as a dip since Germane won't eat it.
I'm with you on enjoying well written YA fiction, so I get a good story without all of the gore or vulgarity.
You have enough pets to look after that even a lazy day keeps you busy, I'm sure.

That does look like a very interesting book, kitkat. A "Be careful what you wish for" plot.

That explains it, Kittykatt. I'm looking at the snow coming down at a 45 degree angle and picturing how any of my plants would feel if I put them outside, LOL.
Lunch sounds delish, as always!
I'm not surprised that fellow hobbiests are happy to communicate with someone who shares their enthusiasm for their favourite subject. I expect that she is enjoying it as much as you are.
And... in Agatha Christie week, you MUST tell us which Poirot you watched. It's like the cat tax in Reddit, but it's the Christie tax.

Sunday
Put on a pot of coffee
Discarded dog’s rejected food
Offered new plate with new serving of food: rejected
Dumped the old bag of milk
Set up new milk bag
CUOP
Looked for coffee; none made
Hit the power button on coffee maker
Started sorting one of the boxes from entertainment centre
Put away dry dishes
Swapped out kitchen cloths
Covered the dw
Brought out next container of coffee
Cleared the stove top
Put on a pot for pasta
Treat for dog: so far, she is enjoying her cooked potato and carrots.
Scrubbed out sink and basin
Washed a few basinsful of dishes
Cleaned up after dog
Gave dog the last two carrot slices in her plate, along with the food that she has been ignoring since this morning.
Saw the plate being licked under the bathroom door at me. Hint? Woo hoo! She’s eating!
Gave dog her Benedryl and some more food.
Found Benedryl on the floor.
CUOP
Cleaned up after Germane
Made a show of picking up her dish, opening the fridge and pretending to put something new in it.

Dogged, this evening's episode of Poirot was "The Clocks. It does differ a bit from the original book, but it's still enjoyable. That's very good news that Germane is eating! :D

Dogged, I made the French onion soup from scratch and it was easy, mostly beef broth and onions, some butter and flour… I think this was the recipe I used but I didn’t have Sherry or thyme and it turned out fine, nor the variety of cheeses.

Funny to me, I told dh I’d make a deal with him, he could spot clean the floors and I’d cook breakfast today. There were cleanups needed in foyer, living room, and bedroom. He cleaned all that up and went over the floors with the vacuum. Bonus. He thought I said clean the floors so he was being thorough. I was happy just to not have to deal with bodily functions.

Yay on Germane eating! Have you tried sprinkling yeast flakes on her food? I read it online and it seems to help my seniors. Might be worth a try.

Kittykatt, lunch sounds delicious. Hope you find all your dollhouse pieces.

I’m glad you liked it kitkat.

The Clocks is a good one, Kittykatt. I have read the book, but have not seen show.

Hi, Peaches

Bama, I'm hesitant to add things to Germane's diet after seven years of restricting it to avoid setting off her allergies. For now I'll keep catering to her until it's time to go back to the vet.
Woo hoo on getting clean floors and getting a break from having to do them.

I have washed my hair and am ready to plunge back into things.

Sunday
Put on a pot of coffee
Discarded dog’s rejected food
Offered new plate with new serving of food: rejected
Dumped the old bag of milk
Set up new milk bag
CUOP
Looked for coffee; none made
Hit the power button on coffee maker
Started sorting one of the boxes from entertainment centre
Put away dry dishes
Swapped out kitchen cloths
Covered the dw
Brought out next container of coffee
Cleared the stove top
Put on a pot for pasta
Treat for dog: so far, she is enjoying her cooked potato and carrots.
Turned on the projector and looked up information on things that it can do.
Showered/washed hair

I like the meal services, Bama. I like trying new recipes. Spice isn’t an issue because you can add as much as you want. I like that for weird spices you get just the amount you need. I think it makes for less work. My sister didn’t like it because she said there is too much chopping. I don’t feel like it is more than I was doing before but that probably depends on the person. The biggest issue is that you need to go in and choose which meals you want or skip the delivery and if you forgot you end up with stuff you don’t want or like. I try to do it once a month. I do okay as long as I have a list Dogged…. I have a lot more trouble with no list.

Does anyone have suggestions on sleeping while other sounds/snoring go on in the same room? I’ve tried basic ear plugs at hotels and they make my ears sore. White noise/tv in the background doesn’t work. Wondering if there’s something new to try.

The meals sound like a good idea, LAnn. I might try them sometime. The idea of trying something new without having to make it from scratch is appealing.

Dogged, I understand about trying to get seniors to eat. You’re doing great and so patient with Germane. She is a lucky girl.

Hi Peaches.

Piddling along. Watching a mystery movie and brushing Beau, I got a plastic bag full of fur before he got bored and wandered off. Brushed Toby and he’s cuddling with me on the couch. Next is work on planner.

✔️Weigh
Water 💧💧💧💧💧
Bible
✔️Pet chores
✔️Spot clean floors
✔️Wfd? Lima beans with ham bone
✔️Dust
✔️Vacuum
Mop
Glass
Laundry
Walk dogs
Take down Christmas decor, pack decorations, pack tree
✔️Paper, planner - in progress - pick habits, goals, write out bills in date order due, learn something new, fill in past few days.
Read - book club book, Brenda Gantt book (both in progress)
✔️Catch up on BG videos (in progress)
Craft - fake cupcakes - need to find spray
Outside - deal with bottles and jars, prune fig and weed around, fertilize (get dh to fetch fertilizer from shed)
Weekly - mop, water plants
Monthly -clean glass, polish cabinets
Check on lp order for dd2, email says delayed, no update until January sometime
Check for frying pan at moms
Week 3 bathrooms (catch up wk 2 bedrooms?)

We don't expect you to keep all that in your head, L.Ann, LOL.

She's my one little ewe lamb, Bama, so it's easy for me to focus on trying to keep her comfortable. I spotted that The Princess Bride is on tonight. Can you believe that I have never seen that movie? Tonight's the night.
I don't know what to advise about the noises, as I am a heavy sleeper. I have tinnitus after my years of working with headphones. When I go to bed, it can be very loud. I've read people's descriptions of it where it seems to drive them to distraction. I noticed that it sounds like a cricket's chirp, but without the break. It's a solid note, like grasshoppers. So when that sound drowns out the regular sounds of the apartment, I feel like I am drifting off to sleep in a cabin by the lake as I did as a child. I don't know if there is a way to reframe the sounds that you hear to something that relaxes you.
Another thing that I like to do is to put on an audio book with a 15-minute timer. I'm rarely awake to hear the end of it, LOL.

I'm trying to decide whether to work on going through that box next, or to work on filling a slow cooker.
