I've read about Oksana before, trissie. I think she's amazing! You've got to admire her persistence and commitment - and I think she must do it for the fun of it and not to get lots of medals.
Kitty - Poirot. . .You're reminding me that I have found the "better" Miss Marple series. I have not watched any yet. My mother loved Poirot. Is L the handyman working on your corner kitchen cupboard?
See you soon, Doggedly! Sleep well.

It is currently 10*F, so not bad for recent temps here. Looks like we'll be up in the 20s again starting Sunday. Perhaps the polar vortex will have moved itself back to its proper position by then. No sunshine in the forecast until Thursday.

Today: I need to be otd in 55 minutes to meet B at the mall where we're going to walk and talk. Currently, I'm working on a cup of coffee. At 1 pm, I have a payroll zoom meeting with AC and CM to discuss new admin responsibilities I'll take on for the school - not like a secretary but more like an assistant to the new academic director (AC). I'll probably do things like help manage curricula and interface with teachers on that topic. Other things to do include the list of things I didn't get to this weekend, like the postal place and clean sheets on the bed. Perhaps getting some groceries will happen. Progress on payroll exam prep, NY cards, and writing would be good as well.

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- finish reclaiming the kitchen
- gather RZ's kitchen shears to put in the mail

Later:
- 9 - 11ish? Walk in the mall with B
- postal place: shears in the mail + buy more stamps
- home; some qt
- lunch
- 1-2 payroll: zoom meeting
- what's for dinner?
- do I need to get groceries?
- clean sheets on MBR bed
- sheets: w d f pa
- NY cards 10 more ready for the mail
- payroll: BRE draft ready for review
- payroll: IRE draft progress
- dinner: TBD - probably something from the freezer + roasted veggie (broccoli and mushrooms)
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- read fun book
- restart knitting project?

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website

Luckily the ice wasn’t as heavy as expected. The cedar trees are sparkling with their coating of ice. They still say with the wind power outages are possible but they won’t be widespread so they should get repaired in a timely manner. We just got a bit more snow. I think the storm is headed out. I don’t have Little Bit today so it will be another chill day.

Are you going to still teach, helian, on top of the administrative work?

I finished my nonfiction last week, helian. I finished A Guardian and a Thief yesterday. It is a dystopian climate disaster look at the future set in India. I am hoping my next book is less heavy but I need to read the ones with no renewals so The Ferryman and his Wife is next up on the list.

β˜€οΈGood morning!

Thanks for getting us going, trissie. I bet the other competitors were glad when Mr. Mayer stepped down so they would have a better chance at winning.
Hope payroll goes smoothly.

Sleep tight, Dogged. See you soon, I hope.

Kittykatt, kudos to Mr. L for showing up so promptly and may it be an easy fix. What color are you painting your house?

Helia, have fun with your friend walk. I would walk the mall sometimes with coworkers back many years ago and it was nice, plus I couldn’t spend any money as the stores weren’t open yet.

LAnn, I wish I was as committed to reading as you are. I just lug my book around with good intentions lol.

I woke up to winter again. So nice! Last week felt more like spring and now green grass is poking through the brown. I have no desire for any extra mowing yet. I have a fire in the fireplace and am enjoying my coffee and banana under a blanket in the living room.

Done:
Weigh
Breakfast
Fire in fireplace
Laundry - 2 covers back on lr furniture, last cover drying, washing 3 white throws
Fed Lily as she was chewing the food box to get into it
β™₯ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! β™₯

Good morning Ladies!
Glad to see most of you post-storm.
I have very little time before dgkids arrive, and I MUST make a path for them... so no time for individual greetings. But, I'll be back.

Main job of the day: shovel. Rinse and repeat.

My dog was chest deep in snow this morning... and she is not small.

Morning all. It's busy around here. I really hope all of you are staying safe and warm with power on and gma made her flight finally. What a start to a trip.

There's so much activity here it's hard to respond. Looks like activity of walking indoors and ventures out in the snow.

It's been cold here too but some of you eastern states have it colder. We got lots of snow over Christmas while we were away. January mostly ended up unseasonably warm with some bouts of rain and melting and now all our snow is hard and crispy and icy. Even my path to Caspers run is hard and icy. It got cold this weekend and now it's going to warm up to more just under freezing for the week with a little snow. Only an inch or so over night.

I had a somewhat relaxing down time weekend. Kinda. It was prayer and fasting weekend. I limited my social media. Cuop here a couple times but no scrolling aimlessly on Facebook. A couple prayer times and then Saturday afternoon I gathered up some paint supplies and tried my hand at a sunset background. A few pointers from my sister and the one session with her i December. It turned out not too bad for first try. I painted a psalm on top.

Sunday was church and music. Ds and Lil j popped in for an hour or so. Lil j is 11 months now. And absolutely special litttle guy. Almost at the stage of letting go of the couch . So cute.

And then band. Oh my goodness I think first off on my list I need an apt with my practitioner. That group is turning out quite skilled actually. The music is quite intense and 2 hours of flute leaves me asthmatic... short of breath and my shoulders are a rock.

I better head for the shower. I think I will take ds to school and off to work. Dh has a holiday week so he's home and I can go to work without having to run around for ds. I'm getting a little tired of being taxi all day. Either school run or practice times or some running around for mom. Good thing my manager just laughs when I tell him dad is worried about me losing my job for all the running around πŸ™ƒ. No chance of that on his clock.

Shower and some routines before work.

Hello everyone!

Helia, my house repairs are getting confusing! :D Unfortunately, the days of one multi skilled person who did everything, seem to be over.
MJ is the handyman working on the kitchen corner cupboard -hopefully he will come back later this week
L is the roofer who is hopefully going to do a small job on the house roof and a larger repair on the garage roof
JE is the painter who will hopefully be painting the outside of the house later this year! (I need to get a provisional date for the roof work first before I contact JE, as I don't want them all falling over each other!)

L.Ann, I'm glad you kept power - enjoy your chill day!

Bama, when we get the outside of the house painted (probably later this year - I'm waiting for a quote and a provisional date from the roofer before I get hold of the painter, as I dont want them falling over each other!) it will be magnolia again. Most of the estate is painted magnolia, and a big departure from the colour would cause raised eyebrows. Also,. we're the middle house of three , so it's probably best not to have anything too radical. The fascias, gutters and downpipes are all uPVC, so are white, and I'll just have them cleaned. The little canopy over the front door is the only bit of actual woodwork.we have, and that's going to be dark brown again (very hard-wearing, and doesnt show the dirt!)

KitKat, that's a lot of snow!

Laura, the painting sounds beautiful!

I've had a nice, if soggy, time in my garden,.and been for a walk. It has actually been dry for most of the day after some morning dampness. Now to tackle some housework!

Thanks kittykat. It turned out pretty well for first solo attempt. A little uneven lettering. Then I faded the blue dark to light over the whole thing first and shouldn't have. The yellow sun part is almost light green. And the color changes are pretty accurate except slightly rainbow like should have blended more. My sister was proud. Except so far only on a photo. She is a beautiful landscape artist mostly scenery pictures. Absolutely gorgeous. I am attempting to do scripture art.

I suppose unless your row houses were a rainbow of color one should stick to the theme. A fresh coat of paint will probably make your summer garden pop.

Reminds me I can think flower bed this year. I had a few odds and ends planted last year. Gotta do some research and figure out how to see if the glad bulbs and a few others I bought too late last year are still good. There's a poppy and a peony that were alive in there. Maybe the malva will reseed. And split a few of my big perrenials. Then I can buy more perrenials plus some annuals for color.

Dogged, I totally get stepping away from super-G, but I guess he had a bit more practise than me! :-) (though I absolutely love the freedom of a proper black slope, when it's just me, the skis, and absolute concentration and control. After more than 15 years, I was able to actually ski a black slope again and I realized I really missed it! Of course, it's gonna be training blue ones again this year with the kids. Not much thrill there, but you gotta start somewhere! :-)
We're weather twins today, kittykatt! I so love rain in winter (not)! But hey, no scraping of the car this morning, so there's that!
helia, I've read that Oksana would like an Olympic medal for Kazachstan - she won one for Russian Federation, one for Germany (she moved there to get treatment for her son's cancer - he's doing fine, BTW), and now she would like to give her homeland the same honor. I think she embodies the Olympic spirit!

Home from work, had a bit of rest with a cup of coffee, and it's time to get going again! I think I can do four 45minute rounds today.

TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work
- pick up DBD
- sort and start a load of cleaning rags

ToDos
- 45 of whatever needs doing because I do know what that is :-)
- come back with the account on what has been done
