Re: Weasel Wednesday
Weasels (Mustela nivalis) are the UK’s smallest carnivore. They like to eat voles, mice and small birds. They belong to a group of animals known as mustelids, which means they have a long body and short legs and are related to otters and stoats. They live in lots of different habitats including woodland, grassland, and moorland. Their young are called kits, and they can have up to two litters a year with three to six kits per litter.
The weasel has a russet-brown back, and a creamy white throat and belly. It is smaller than the similar stoat, has a shorter tail with no black tip, and has a running gait, with a straight back; stoats bound along, arching their backs as they go.
They are widespread in England, Wales and Scotland, but absent from Northern Ireland and most islands.
Weasels are so small and agile that they fit into the burrows of their small rodent prey, enabling them to hunt day or night and in any season; they can even hunt in the snow!

Re: Weasel Wednesday
Good morning, everyone, and happy Wednesday!
Dogged, I'm glad Germane is eating a little better.
I hope you enjoyed your quiet evening, Helia!
Bama, sorry about your DD''s accident, but glad she's ok. I've never had an air bag inflate, but it sounds scary. I can certainly empathise about rain all day!!!
Today DH goes to the office and the forecast is for rain (no surprises there!) and my plan is to work on the kitchen. It's looking more and more likely that DH will get his early retirement this year, so I really need to make the most of these Wednesdays at home alone while I still can! I'm also expecting a couple .of packages to be delivered today, and.as the kitchen is at the front of the house , it means I won't miss the postman.

Re: Weasel Wednesday
HI kittykatt, That weasel is pretty cute!
I have just returned home from spending almost the whole day with dfBS. We started with a dr appointmnet, then came home. Then she received a call from her MD office that the lab owrk was way abnormal, and she should go to the emergency room, where they did more blood work and determined that she should be in the hospital. I waited with her until that decision was made, then came home. We had the foresight to bring a few things she would need in the hospital for overnight, and tomorrow I will bring her computer that she depends on for so much. Also while I am there, I will feed her kitties - she has 2 Tonkanese that she dotes on.
Now it's well after midnight, and I am going to get to bed - I have mail from being gone, but I am not going to start going through it at this hour!
And I didn't get to the grocery store store today for senior discount day. I hope I can get there tomorrow - I need a few things after being gone for a week!

Re: Weasel Wednesday
Good morning Kittykatt! Thanks for another start:) I hope the rain stops at some point...
Gma I have to second what Kittykatt said... We all wish for friends like you.
I did not get back here last night as dpup looked rather out of sorts after I got back from the gym . Seems OK now, but a little low key - not that unusual after her play time.
Never seen update about Twins doggie.
Bama that was scary about your DD. Glad she is OK.
Today ; I have an early morning gym time with DD so I need to get started
feed pup
med/suppl
d2Ex
then I have a long list of
calls to make
drop offs etc.

Re: Weasel Wednesday
I hope your DD is doing OK, Bama. That sounded scary! Glad she wasn't hurt.
Enjoy the gym time with DD, kitkat. I'm heading there soon.
You're an amazingly committed friend, Gma.
When is the new cupboard door arriving, Kitty? I hope you have a good day indoors.
I got distracted this morning by an article and then videos of the Westminster Dog Show. All the Labrador retrievers were wagging their tails nonstop. LOL!
Yesterday was an out of the house day. I've already posted about it - I was out and about for 7.5 hours. I did get a diagnosis in my feet though: metatarsalgia. My calves/ Achilles tendons are very tight which affects my stride which has put undo pressure on my metatarals. . . I need to do more strenuous stretches. Losing some weight wouldn't hurt either - the doctor didn't say that; it's just my own thought/ observation.
Today: I will go to the gym to exercise this a.m. Then, I'm meeting AA for coffee at 1:30. This evening, childhood friend EP and her son L will join us for dinner! I haven't seen EP in over a year. As children, we grew up across the street from each other and went to school together, including the same private-ish high school. She is now a professor (anthropology and public health) at a state university in Iowa. Her son has been invited to audition for UMich's school of music, which means he is very good. He made it to some national band, so it sounds like he is! I'm excited to see them tonight! I'll need to do a little house spiffing and cooking to prep. I also need to do laundry.
Next:
- reclaim kitchen

Re: Weasel Wednesday
Good morning / good afternoon, KitKat, Helia and L.Ann
KitKat, Twins posted in the PWYC thread yesterday. From what I understand, the vet found a tumour on examination, and DDog also had x-rays (I'm not sure if they showed anything extra). DDog will be having surgery this week Thursday/ Friday. I think what happens after that will depend on what kind of tumour it turns out to be. Sorry not to be the bearer of more positive news.
Helia, it must be a relief to have a diagnosis and know there is something you can do to help!
L.Ann, I'm sure you'll make the most of your time by yourself when Little Bit is at school!
This morning, I've taken Fred out, managed a reasonable walk in between showers (just round the estate as everything's so soggy!) and had some time in my front garden picking off all the rose leaves with blackspot. And I've run a quick duster and hoover round upstairs. Lunch now, although Freddie is currently on my lap, so that may get delayed!
