Thresher sharks (Alopias vulpinus) are migratory visitors to UK waters, primarily seen in the South and South-West, particularly Cornwall, between June and October. Known for their exceptionally long, whip-like tails used to stun prey, these "jumping sharks" can reach 6 metres in length, and are sometimes spotted leaping from the water. This act of leaping into the air is thought to help remove parasites

Thresher sharks have a distinctive, very long upper tail fin, which can equal their body length.
They hunt by using their tails to herd and stun schools of fish like mackerel, herring, and sardines.

The species is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN conservation Red List.

They are generally harmless to humans, and are rarely seen close to the coast.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!

(((L.Ann))), I hope the treatments goes well, with minimal side effects.

Dogged, WTG with all your achievements!

(((Bama))) you took care of the most important things, guiding DD through the insurance process and being there for her.

Gma, I dont use the notification emails, but what I do I stead is to have a tab open with "unread posts" (just in case you're not sure - top LH side of any page here are 3 lines - click on this to pull down the options,. and then click on "unread posts". It's not infallible, but it helps me.keep up.

And now I need to get up as it's church this morning, weight loss clinic for Jude this afternoon, and I would like to run errands if it isn't raining!

Good morning, Kittykatt Thank you for starting us off. That's quite the tail, in the picture!

I'm not sure why I am awake so early, but can put the time to good use and take a nap later.

Kittykatt interesting creature. Mmm chocolate.

Dogged, I’ve been putting off washing my hair, I need to follow your lead and get that done.

Gma, I don’t use notifications either, I keep a tab open and refresh when I want to cuops.

I’m up (sort of), went through my emails, found a bunch I had sent to archive instead of delete, deleted them all.
Now to scroll some while the sun comes up.

Good morning, Bama. I do not intend to return the compliment and follow your good example of getting up before the sun, LOL. In fact, I'm already flagging and ready for my nap.

WTG on getting some decluttering done in the storage room, kitkat. Nothing wrong with having a good sleep after fresh air.

Sounds like a fun day at L.Ann's household. Enjoy story time. And Valentines.

LOL, I think the nap might already be overtaking me, helia. I'm glad that you had a good visit with your df.
