Tipping hairdressers... reminded me that my ex, who was super cheap about some things ALWAYS tipped the guy who cut his hair. I asked him why he would tip this guy but wouldn't tip at restaurants, etc. His reason... "the guy is holding razor sharp scissors close to my neck, if I don't tip him he might cut me." Any way the ex always tipped $5. Dh also tips $5 for all of his haircuts. Because I always get a basic cut, I also tip $5.

Superpower? I don't know.

super power: I have been doubting my powers - I think it's a good thing to work towards.
some super powers that I used to have, don't have now, and need to work on: positivity and finding joy in the littlest of things. also needing to write a grateful journal again. it used to be a natural part of my day to thank God but I find that I haven't been.
I have to work on the self doubt that I have been having. my faith is challenged - it's am not used to that. I need to get back to bible study and positive work.

some things I know:
I try hard to very kind and really care about others. I really think children, people and animals have something very special about each and every one of them.
I try to learn from my own faults and try to be a better person each day
I love to learn -
I am good at meeting new people when I am out. I love introducing people to other people so that they feel comfortable. many have become very good friends.
I make soups well. 90 % of the time lol.

d Nancy yay on pupa and making lunch
yay on fog lifting

room put away so far:
dining room
kitchen
I need to flip laundry
mom laid in bed awake for a long time - she looked asleep a half hour ago - I will wait for the helper to come back to help get her up. As the new helper doesn't know mom - I spent a lot of time conversing with mom and helper. I find I have to do that with one helper so that mom has discussions etc.
new people give mom a chance to talk about her time during the war. all about how they worked on the farm etc. about school and hitler coming in - etc. it's good for her. mom

I had to order bread flour - I thought I had some.
I found my brown rice full of webs - it was in a sealed container - the food brand ones - how it got bugs I will never know.

Just walked ddog a fast two laps. I blew off my workout. I'm down the rabbit hole on research and I just don't want to leave it. And I feel like I'm trying to stay engaged so I don't think about surgery tomorrow for dMillie. Called the vet to verify that they want her to have trazadone in the a.m. too, and I need to give it with a tiny bit of food. And need to take up her foot at 6 p.m. tonight.

Harriet, thank you for mentioning Ruby, dfriend M received a text that R was done with surgery and resting well. M hadn't talked to the vet who did the surgery at that point.

Weirdly, a HOA member emailed that they wrote the check for $300 too much. Well, if they did that I didn't notice it, and the bank hasn't noticed it. So how is he sure? Or does he think dues are $550? Waiting to hear from him. He's been argumentative about receiving email notices (yes, we have proof it was sent to his email...) and I don't want to tangle with him.

I think that Absalom is a son of William. The more I think about it the more it makes sense, now that I've researched a bit more. I'd like to know where he was before 1824 tho.

Hmmm... ChatGTP says my superpower is "quiet resilience with a generous heart... you tell the truth about your feelings without giving up on life... strength and vulnerability." ChatGTP says I'm good with showing up for all my people, even when I'm facing hard things.
I wish I had more of some you mentioned, Twins --
- Ability to change yourself & your mind
- Not taking things personally
- Not needing to prove you're right
- Careful selection of all relationships
- Staying calm
- Being alone without being lonely * I'm pretty good with this one, actually. I miss dh, but most of the time, I'm okay on my own.
- Being ok with being uncomfortable
- Thinking for oneself * My mother would probably say I'm pretty good with this one, too, LOL.

Harriet -- I'm sorry -- I didn't realize Sonic isn't nationwide -- google says:
Sonic Drive-In is the largest U.S. drive-in restaurant chain, boasting over 3,500 locations across 46 states, heavily concentrated in Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. Known for carhop service, slush drinks, and fast food, it operates primarily in the South and Midwest, with limited presence in the Northeast, including no locations in Maine, Vermont, or New Hampshire. (And apparently none close by you! :D )
But yes -- you pull in a parking space and order and they bring it out to you -- occasionally we have had them actually roller skate to the car! But right now, I think they are just glad to hire people who can walk. SMH. A LOT of our restaurants seem to be awfully short-handed lately. We had to pull forward to wait an extremely long time on dgd's Happy Meal today. No special order... just a Happy Meal with chicken nuggets. I certainly did NOT tip them!

Oh, I hope you only have one more round of this treatment, Harriet! (((HUGS)))

I had an interesting day -- I guess you could say I "showed up for my people." I still was not d2s or doing anything other than scrolling through my phone when dmom called at noon! She had been on the phone with my daunt when the phone went dead, and she could not get daunt on the phone again after that. I called daunt, same -- "The person you are calling is not receiving calls at this time." Dmom was really concerned and thought we should go see about her. So I told her of course, I would go with her. First I sent a text to my dcousin to see if any her brothers or sisters-in-law might be home (they live in the same subdivision with daunt) but no, everyone was at work, so dmom and I went down there to check on her. It's only about 15-20 minutes, but I suggested we go in separate cars in case daunt did need someone to stay with her (I had to do school pick up). THANK GOODNESS -- daunt was FINE. She was walking around in the den, and when I came in, she said, "I was just trying to call you!!!" I told her we had been trying to call her! Turns out her phone charger probably needs to be re-set or something -- she talked to her grandson who lives with her, and he said he would check it out when he got home from work.
Whew. But dmom and I stayed there until I had to leave for school pick up and enjoyed visiting with her.
Since then, I had dgrands, went to McD's, talked to dh's cousin's dh (see J&C), and revised my church minutes after getting email from council chairman.

I thought I would make that cheese dip today, but I guess I will wait till tomorrow. DDIL said she would eat some of it.

I do appreciate my hairdresser and she does not own the shop, so I guess I better start adding on a tip for her. Cash will be good because her card reader has started tacking on a fee also.
Tomorrow is another day.

Mystery, that's so cool that you have a not-so-distant neighbor on the hockey team at the Olympics.

Thank you for the thoughts about the med. This is for making sure patients don't get a certain kind of pneumonia following the cell redo (smile) that I had in April. It takes about a half an hour to allow the pre-meds to take effect (lightweight pain med and an intravenous antihistamine), then an hour to receive the infusion. Although the reactions are not comfortable, they are only once a month. I'm grateful that doctors are being so careful.
