Is that the weather forecast for the ski place, trissie? Doesn't sound like good skiing if so, but I bet you'll have fun anyway. I remember the broken leg last year. Maybe don't repeat that this year. :D Yes, maybe your kids would enjoy skiing in the Alps! I have never done that but dh's family went every winter.
kitkat, mushroom barley soup sounds great! We had a lot of rain yesterday but none today.
Is it dry enough for a walk and work in the garden, Kitty? Good luck with Freddie's nails!
Glad Casper is alright, Lauralind. He's smaller than dd27's Labrador Retriever Fable! She's 70ish pounds. She doesn't look that big; I think she's very dense.

It is about 40F right now, gray and windy. If it's windy here with all the buildings and mature trees, that means it's really windy in the countryside! The temps are going to drop all day. It looks like cooler weather is coming, but not polar vortex cold. Highs mainly in the 30s for the next week.

Fable isn't a year yet is she helian? Or close. Casper is pure strength but they did say medium. I don't think a samoyed is supposed to be a large breed. I suppose if I had gotten a female it would have maybe been a little smaller. I'm just glad he's not the 80 that I thought he could be. And he's not over weight at all.

Ugh I wish this neck headache would go away. Most of the day yesterday and still there. And Wednesday it felt like nothing was wrong. I did nothing to change it not even sit at the piano too much.

Hello, all. I've been on the phone with the new ISP again. I still have no internet, so they are arranging for a tech to come out. I am very happy that the tech didn't make me unplug/replug that coax cable on the phone. It's old technology and miserable to work with. I end up with sore hands every time I do it. Luckily, he accepted that I had done it when I described what I had tried and how I had inspected the wires inside the connectors.
After they get the repair done, I have to call back to get my account credited for the days that I didn't have service. So, not a stellar start to the new service, but the company that I am dealing with is doing everything that they can. I am curious to see if the tech will be from my ISP, or the cable company that owns the infrastructure.

Thank you for another interesting start, trissie. I have heard of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, of course, but didn't know anything about the man's story. Imagine going all that way and then not being believed!
Hooray for Friday!
I hope that this trip is less eventful and more fun than last year's.

You got a lot done yesterday, Kittykatt. I hope that today includes some fun stuff for you.

kitkat, it's still clear here, but our forecast is for snow.

Lauralind, I'm glad that the vet has Casper's issues under control.

helia, we'll take the cold if it's not polar vortex cold! Pass on that one!

Lauralind, when I worked at the kennel, I remember that our biggest male Samoyd was 65 pounds. I'll bet that Casper has a magnificent coat, with all of the time that he spends outside.

Dogged, crossing my fingers that the internet issue is resolved soon! It's not that comfortable trying to do something on a small phone screen!
lauralind, imagine if dogs were as difficult when taking medication as cats! Like, towel wrapping a dalmatian and trying to forcefeed it a pill!
helia, unfortunately, the weather forecast is indeed for the ski place. But we will have fun - we've had good and bad years going there, snow is never guaranteed here, so we'll find alternative things to do if need be. Family time is family time!
kitkat, I too was surprised that there was a Captain Vancouver! I am picturing him as an 18th century Marvel comic here, all with that flowing cape and secret identity and superpowers! :-)

Why does everything take so long? Oh, right, because I got an urgent email from work. But really, what kind of *** raises an urgent research requiring question on Friday at 3pm? Right, a single man, that's who! :-)

Lauralind glad it's not serious with Casper. (He must be gorgeous)
helia - "dense" is a good way to describe labs. :) Mine is at 60 lbs. Vets like her weight.
I often get asked how I keep her slim:)
Dogged I hope they sort out your internet issues quickly. Frustrating. Hope you won't get too much snow.
trissie good luck with your list. Hope for no more interruptions.

As my artistic puppy is playing a (toy) piano, I am now back from gym, ate, caffeinated... had pup out.
I will now do a quick PUPA then head out with her for our walk.

Hello Everyone, :D I'm glad to see you.

You all seem very busy. I am not; I think the only thing I keep up with is my book reading for Book Clubs😂
I fear my house looks like when I first came across FLYlady 20ish years ago! But surely, there is less underlying clutter.

Winter is rushing past, the snow is great in the mountains (and now here) and I haven't organized myself to head out skiing!

Winter is rushing past and I haven't tackled one winter project. I had this whole week off work and 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ nothing.
My intended projects.

-Knit a pair of socks.
-Organize our office
-Paint and remodel the laundry room.
-Keep up the shoveling, to avoid an icy mess in the spring.

I'm here to tackle 3 things
1. Snow removal
2. Use up pears, and tidy kitchen
3. Regular daily stuff- anything

But first I have to get the big kitten off my lap. Oh my gosh he is just sleeping so soundly and looks so cute. Our ferrel cat brought him home several months ago. He has tamed the ferrel cat a lot. I can pat him while he's eating. The ferrel learned to use the cat door into the garage, so no sleeping outside this winter. He will come into the house if I prop open the door and go away. Once I closed the door before he noticed me going to it. He panicked even after I opened it and I had to stand behind the door before he ran out.

trissie have a great trip skiing or not!

Lauralind, Fable is almost 17 months old. The vet is actually pleased with her weight - not too skinny but not overweight either. I didn't realize Casper is a Samoyed! I had to look that breed up. Gorgeous! And not too big -- I thought he was bigger. Do you have to brush him?
kitkat - how is your puppy playing a toy piano? I'd love to see that! :)
Interesting sauce, trissie. I skimmed the recipe. Sounds like a lovely winter meal. Sorry about the payroll request so late on a Friday.
Good luck with the tech, Doggedly. I hope he gets everything sorted for you.
So nice to see you, Paige!! I am like that too with my low-key weeks -- I have so much time and I don't do the projects I thought I would. But you have a lot of projects for 1 week.

I'm finishing my lunch. I swam at the pool, only 400 meters + some water walking, but I can feel it in my arms. Or maybe that's the trainer work out yesterday?

Next, I need to do the GGT emails for payroll. Those are due today. Then, I'll finish my a.m. routine, work on laundry and things for my mom. I should just do the remote deposit thing for that check to my Mom. It's been sitting on the desk too long. I think I need to call the bank again - I don't remember if I sign on the back as myself or not. (My name is on the bank account with Mom's.)

Next:
- after lunch clean up
- make the bed
- payroll: GGT emails

Later:

- gathered everything and otd late
- gym: swimming
- s2s and self care
- home; lunch

Oh, I have internet, trissie. I'm trying to change suppliers to a less expensive one now that I'm retired. I have enough experience that I didn't contact my current ISP to start the cancellation yet. I'll only do that after I have tested the new one to my satisfaction.
LOL, my mind went straight to Captain Canada when I read Captain Vancouver.

kitkat, I have never had a dog who could play a musical instrument, LOL. Or maybe they could, and I failed to provide them with one!

Paigealle, me too, I was listening to The Clocks by Agatha Christie. It's been so long since I read it that I can't remember who the villain is, so am really enjoying it.

WTG on all that exercise, helia.

Enjoy the painting, L.ann.
